Thank you for uploading this album!! My uncle Major Holley plays on three out of the four selections!! I wonder if there were any unreleased tunes from that project...
When I was a kid, my father played this on the 8 track in his car. On long road trips, I cut my teeth on this and other jazz artists. What great memories.
I just inherited my brother-in-law's album collection that includes this album. While I'm sorting through em i decided to listen to all four tracks for the very first time to my ears; i'm amazed of not only of this album but of how he took care of each album... OMG! COVID 19 is the reason why he's gone so i dedicate this listening pleasure to Walter Upshaw (love & miss you...R.I.P.😢).
That is a beautiful story my friend, thank you Walter. I'm going to play something from this album on my radio show tomorrow night and continue to spread love through the seeds of music. Thank you

JONES HAS WORKED ON HIS ALBUMS,EVEN THE MUSICAL SCORES 'IRONSIDE' AND 'SANFORD AND SON'.

jimi hendrix was suppose to play on this album,,,,but when he heard who he would be playing with, esp Toots, he chickened out,,,true story told by Quincy,,,
He also had sessions with Miles later in the year but he died

thanks for posting this nathan i had copy of the vinyl back in south africa 1973 used to get zonked on durban poison/amsterdam acid and gaze out over the indian ocean from the south coast while listening this music made for brilliant eyelid movies thanks

Who was the female vocalist on Gula Matari
Brothers and sisters loved this album. Curtis Carter introduced me to it in 1970 and it has stayed in my mind over the years. It was the time as much as anything. retrorex is out of the loop on this one. Music other than wholesale marketability is an aficionado's mark. Ashanti
