always a pleasure to listen to this gem album.. i had the vinyl back in the late 70's.. my older belated brother Paul educated me in quality music.. and he used to take me out to an underground jazz, small concert place that also had a small dancing space, the Maltzerkeller, in Aachen, Germany.. where i'd dance barefoot, including on the track 'masquerade'.. we used to go on his motorbike, a Honda CB250.. i was around 16 years old.. He even let me ride his bike.. i miss my brother so much..
This song brings back memories of listening to it in the summer breeze cruising down on the coast by the beach when life was cool. People were so chill. I miss those days.
I heard this in college, changed my taste in music forever. I told my friends that this guy can play circles around Jimmy Page and I loved Led Zeppelin. Been listening to jazz ever since.
This song reminds me of my Dad & Uncle Mike playing the guitar and base in my grandparents basement in N. E. Washington DC!!! My dad loved George Benson & played that guitar just like him! It’s been 2 years since you went to be with The Lord. I miss my Dad!!! #HavingAMoment 🥲♥️🙏🏽
So Folks, In today's Music world, how many songs / Instrumentals do we see rise to this Glory.? ...So Maybe, our past, is our Best, and that today's Music has lost some of its own way forward. ...because ya Ain't hearing this, except on a Jazz Stn now. !! > and That's kinda Sad. 😢 Beautiful Production, deserves to fill The Air Ways.
I want to high school bay shore long Island I had a few friends beginning musician's that would jam this hole album every day like it was ice water, lol that's jazz talk.
Thanks for putting this on You Tube, Drew. I decided I'd like to learn some of these tunes and play them. I have the original vinyl, made a CD copy of that for the car, now a link on my computer. I'd like to arrange a couple of these tunes for my Big Band. Don't know if that's ever been done? I think it would be fun playing Breezin' with 14 horns behind me. Have to change the string parts to horn parts. I saw George a couple of times live in jazz clubs back in the '70's. He was incredible, of course. And what a nice voice. George is one of the Great Masters of Jazz Guitar. Nuf Said.
Bsck in the 1970s the first few seconds of this music was used to introduce the Irv Kupcinet TV talk show from Chicago. He was the most famous newspaper journalist in the 1960s for the Chicago Tribune newspaper who went on TV circa 1972. Saw his show show syndicated on WNET TV ch. 13 New York in my old hometown of NYC.😊
I always mix this up with Feels So Good by Chuck Mangione. The melodies have nothing to do with eachother at all, but the "vibes" are so similar (if you see what i mean).
