I Just started hockey this season, and have been trying to get better than my bro. he's 2 years younger than me ( i'm 17) and plays U18 Rep tier 2 as a first liner and i got until January 1st to roster as an AP. been doing this for about an hour every day and i'm already insanely better. Love the content its super useful keep it up!
I have been doing the same thing but for 30min I'm a new player who has been playing for 5 months and currently in tier 4. I use your app and absolutely love every detail and your videos thanks your app has helped me a lot!.
Hi Kevin! I did almost the same challenge (10 mins a day, figure 8s, stickhandling speed, but no backhand toe-drags) for a full year. My results weren't as impressive as yours (what results in just 21 days!), but I'm still very happy with what I got after this year of stickhandling 🏒 More confidence, more control, more fun 😃 If you want to learn more about how my challenge went, let me know. I posted a full summary on my blog, but TH-cam seems to block the link (this is the second time I post this comment). Anyway, congratulations again for the results you got, it's very inspiring and makes me want to go even further. 💪 Keep continue the great job with coach Dan ! 👍👍 Dorian, from France
A lot has to do with muscle growth in wrist and forearm muscles. Try buying 5 to 10 pound stick weights that wrap around the shaft of your stick when you are practicing. My stick is loaded with 15 pounds of stick weights. I have 3 five pound stick weights wrapped around my shaft. You will notice after only a few weeks maybe a month depending on how long and often you practice that not only are your hands faster because now your stick feels like it weighs nothing but your shot power will also increase. I would start at 5 pounds than after you feel like it's going great increase another 5 pounds than another. Do not load up all stick weights right away. Build to it or you will find your top hand and forearm will burn out really quick. Cheers
im super interested? thanks for commenting. my skating is legit, but my stick handling practice is almost non existent. finally got. stick yesterday and am about to follow in all of yalls footsteps. Today was day one.. looking forward to the interesting soreness that sure to come tomorrow. gosh.
Great video... but.... 1- whats that surface are u using? 2- u dont have skates on. So u hold the stick in different points? If u had the skates on u d be higher so whats the point of improving in a way u wont be like on the ice???
Hey, where in your app can I see the exact drills you did? Or like a playlist or smth. I’m trying to make double A next season and this looks amazing. Man cysts suck though. Great progress though man.
Hmmm... Video doesn't mention what the everyday training was like though (except some timing comments). It Shows before and after tests, but what was the actual training routine?
They were stickhandling sessions from the Hockey Training TV app. You can download it and check them out. Basically, a variety of drills with limited equipment needed... each session usually has 5 drills and we do each drill 2x30 secs.
Yes, you should get comfortable with the movement first and then work on head up. Make sure you're doing other drills with head up though, like your standard stickhandling on your forehand side
Compare me never trained stickhandling and me stickhandling for straight month, mind-blowing, unbelievable, who would've thought, right? Wow, amazing...
i dont play any sort of organized hocokey, but i love to glide around on my rollerblades and want to work on some hockey skills just for fun. are gloves necessary? do they improve skill? or is it just for protection?

just skated and have a vid to watch from you guys! Love it keep up the content we love!
Got home from hockey just in time. Let’s go baby
Lets go! Insane results 🏒🏒💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

1 - Synethic ice tiles or stickhandling/shooting pad
2 - I cut my stick shorter so it's the same height.
@@hockeytraining ah ok thanks
App downloaded and Instagram followed. Me and my partner want to get into ice hockey, looks like this will make a big difference
Lets go!!!
Hey mate, great vid. Do you use a shorter stick for this? And if so, do you get a slightly lower flex to compensate for this?
Had a ganglion cysts that formed years ago. Glad I had it surgically removed and never had the bump return since!

Here's the link to the program: hockeytraining.tv/catalog
Bruh, let yourself heal. I have been just watching you fall apart through each series.
Haha at least this one was from tennis... hopefully this is the last injury during my challenges
I’m available if you need an accountability partner. Another great video.
Insane results!

@@hockeytraining are mentioned videos free? Or just after contracting the trial month?
@@tombarni6009 Many are free without any trial. The ones that aren't in the free category will need a paid membership
I'm turning 18 in October and I weigh around 143 pounds at 5'11 should I try gaining more weight?
Functional weight, yes. Check out this video th-cam.com/video/IoeHtV3I0cM/w-d-xo.html
Can I ask what kind of board is that? The video is absolutely inspiring🔥 and I wanna try this too!
Are you talking about the synthetic ice? Those were from hockey shot: bit.ly/icetiles
@@hockeytraining the link is not working
Inspired me to do the same starting today
Let's go!!
i've started this challenge, keen for the results. but i can't even get 1 no look backhand toe drag...should i just start with not having my head up?
Yes, you should get comfortable with the movement first and then work on head up. Make sure you're doing other drills with head up though, like your standard stickhandling on your forehand side
Did u watch a spesific stickhandeling video or just all of them in the app
I did a variety of them. I tried to choose some that had backhand toe drags in them so I could get that work in too
If I don’t have a hockey floor will a hockey ball work?
Yes but I would recommend a Green Biscuit instead
What fake ice / tiles are you using?
Compare me never trained stickhandling and me stickhandling for straight month, mind-blowing, unbelievable, who would've thought, right? Wow, amazing...
what tiles are those. i got some from snipers edge and pucks do NOT slide like that
those sound like thier not ice pucks though
Hockey Shot and the puck isn’t a regular puck as those don’t slide well either. It’s called a Dangle Puck
Those ganglion cysts are little bastards! Impressive and motivating results!
Thanks Sarah!
How we can watch your game video with a team?
I don't think anybodys taping our men's league games haha
@@hockeytraining in Russia in amateur leagues they usually do it) but I forgot that in Canada you don’t have any camera))

That thumbnail 😂

Just for protection. I use them when stickhandling most of the time to replicate the on ice feel best
1:26 haahhahhahaha
The photoshopped thumbnail is gross lol. I enjoy these series tho. Stay healthy.
Bro that thumbnail💀 cool vid tho
epic
You lost me at ipad
Works on a phone too 😎
Me: No-look-Toe-Drags= ...ZERO😔
Keep practicing, you'll get there!
Witch pucks are you using?
Dangle puck by hockey shot
I'm just commenting to see if Hockey Training will like this comment
Let's go!!
ALL THE STICK HANDLING SKILLS IN THE WORLD ARE USELESS AGAINST A SMART DEFENSEMAN THAT PLAYS THE PLAYER, NOT THE PUCK.
No necessarily just do tight turns on them and dangle usually works, however there is the occasional all star defenseman that’s on your ass
@@edwarddegan1918how old are you 10? If you are in full contact hockey yeah stickhandlings great but you should learn the body first
