The "snapping the towel" concept with the top wrist is a great way to explain it... Especially for kids that are trying to get that quick hard shot... good stuff!!!
That's so far the best how to shoot vidéo I've ever seen!! The guy explains and shows WITH BARE HANDS FINALLY!! He teaches very well, all of it is mind opening for me (top hand and fingers positionning, wrist angle etc!) I'll follow this guy everywhere!
Thank you for this video. This was extremely helpful and informative. This was exactly the video I was looking for, simple explanation of how to get off quick snap shots. 💪
interesting. im a girl so there is no stick flex that is flexy enough for my strength/weight sadly and i also have to shoot a puck thats kinda heavy to me! always looking for technique stuff that can override my strength/weight shortfall and i gotta try this wrist action thxx
Not tryingbto be "that guy" but pucks are a standard size. Sticks are also available in mens sr. Womans, intermediate for kids and jr for small kids. My 3 year old daughter can flex a stick so if you are strugling it may not be equipment related. All this said good on you for trying to find techniques to improve you gane and mitigate those issues. Best of luck it is an awesome game for awesome folks
@@adamrichmond6348second what you said, it's definitely not equipment related because I have 12 year old girls that I coach who can flex their stick and they are something like under 5ft and weigh probably 40kg at most. Are you swinging it like it's golf? 🤔
do you know what stick he's using? There's a lot of "no brand" stick, but not sure they are all good, and if he's using that one, I guess he likes it! Thanks
@@crossetix have tried them a bit … not the best but for the price it’s a good deal I suppose! In general for sticks though I’d say you don’t need top of the line sticks 1 model lower is usually still a great stick and for half the price but anything lower than that your getting a log
I’ve talked to him a lot on insta and he suggests a longer stick, but it’s all preference I am 6’4 without skates on and my stick is bellow my chin sooo
Thanks for not wearing gloves so I can see the wrist clearly. And more importantly, I see your grip is different from mine and I'm going to adjust it as well.
i'm an old guy, and probably don't count for the majority of your viewership, but dam, i hate instagram and refuse to use tiktock as i have no desire to be tracked by the communist party of china, so i'm all in favour of Modern Hockey getting on youtube.
Worked with Mike for years, easily the reason I’d say my shot is a positive part of my game now

Great tip, thanks for this!

Mike’s shirt is freaking great! Almost as good as his wrist shot action!
Solid information thank you guys for putting in the work appreciate it
Need to have this video running in each of our lanes. Great explanation.
Great video! What video(s) do you recommend from your library (or others) to train wrist shot movement mechanics/workouts to improve quickness? Thx!
OH...I will be watching this a million more times for sure.....great video. Thank you coaches....

Don't have time for a windup, adopt the snapshot.
What curve is he using? Just curious
That’s a 90 curve
@@modernhockey1936 Is that the only curve you use? Would you change your technique a little bit if you moved to a 92 or a 28?
@@xskinyx with a 28 no , same thing … 29 or 92 slightly more middle contact with the puck!
Anybody know how those floor tiles holdup during the winter? After being covered in snow for months, are they gonna crack and break??
He converts it into an ODR with a liner, so that’s why it still looks so good bc the majority of it is not covered in snow during the winter
@@bridgetbarth433 what sport court company is that?
top hand position is the secret. (thumb flat on skinny side of the shaft)

This is a Sherwood prototype it’s a 2026 code stick we are working on!
Ack! Thanks. You have any experience with those "no name" sticks at cheaper price?

Sweet guys nice
Hi mike
That good shot arm and turn on hand. Better video
Jeremy the how to hockey FB page has been hacked and posting some disturbing links
Thanks, I’m working with Facebook to get it back
I’ve tried this for a while now and I just can’t seem to do something right, mine are still muffins instead of missles
👏👏
I feel like this would affect the aim of the shot
Did they just reinvent the snapshot???
His stick looks unusually longer than normal.

Theres a mobile game called whiteout that is stealing clips of your videos for their ads
If i am understanding this motion correctly, he is actually supinating his top hand.
Wrist springs no?
Thanks for not wearing gloves so I can see the wrist clearly. And more importantly, I see your grip is different from mine and I'm going to adjust it as well.
