Well done frank, that’s a cracking route to take up to narnian. Feels far more like your climbing a mountain compared to the typical walk up. Winter conditions too, that was some effort 😊
Cheers Robert, yeh it’s defo the best way up Narnain, I thoroughly enjoyed it and the winter conditions were the icing on the cake.👍
Cheers Robert

Frank
Well you certainly got your wish for more snow Frank 🏔️ ended up being quite a challenge and very dramatic looking 😮 nicely edited and a lovely wee BL tune, Superb bud 👌atb Brian 👍
Cheers Brian, loved those conditions near the summit. The scramble up the spearhead added a bit of spice.
Cheers again mate.

Frank
That looks like a fun route Frank. Nice wintery feel up there. Almost all the snow has melted up here on the coast now unfortunately.
Cheers Andy, it is a fun route indeed, defo the best way up Narnain. Hopefully you’ll get some more snow up there, it makes all the difference
Cheers Andy

Frank
Brilliant Frank. I have to say....that looked well dodgy mate :) I agree with the poles, theyre great, then theyre a pain in the arse!! great video mate
Cheers Donnie, if I’d just taken the time to put poles away and get my spikes on it would have been fine, I’m just a lazy bastard at times🤣🤣
Yeh the poles are great but a pain at times as well, esp when trying to fly drone while walking🤣
It was still a great hike Donnie.
ATB
Frank
Nothing quite like a Mountain that brings a hiker down to the knees! Great hiking/climbing, Frank!!
🤣🤣 cheers chip, yeh more clutter than I needed going up there, would have been a lot easier If I had just put my spikes on.🤣👍
Thanks again for watching.👍
ATB
Frank
Nice 1 Frank, tough going when you have the cold 🥶 mate. Pity about the clag mate 😢 but some great shots on the way down, nice edit and music as always bud 👍
Cheers Tam, still canny get rid of this cold😡 aye it was a cracking hike even in the clag.👍
Cheers mate

Frank
A great mountain Frank that looks a cracking route a good scramble aswell but a bit sketchy at bits spikes all the way 😅 but good to get back on the mountains after the holiday 👍 Atb Ally 👍
Cheers Ally, it’s defo the best way up and I thoroughly enjoyed it, yeh I admit I defo needed the spikes for the last bit for sure.
Yeh it was good to get Munro height again as it’s been since last nov since my last munro.
Cheers again Ally

Frank
Nice one Frank. Looked like a good fun scramble up there.
Cheers and thanks for watching.
It certainly was a fun scramble and a bit twitchy bum at times🤣🤣
ATB
Frank
Nice one Frank, looked tough going up through the gully, pity about the clag but we’ve all been there, better luck next time. Take care mate 😊😉🏴🏴

Great video Frank I did the same route a couple of years back in similar conditions...lol i remember thinking oh Sh*t when I seen the Spearhead (I should have done some homework first) it's a great la'al scramble definitely looks worse from below... Well done in them conditions buddy...when it's like that it's usually one way only and that's up...getting back would be very difficult always good to know the way down is gonna be easier.
Tek care and stay safe Marra ATVB Andy and The ROCK STAR ⭐ 🙏
Cheers Andrew, it’s the best way up for sure, I’ve done it a few times now via the spearhead so I knew what to expect. I was just lazy thinking I could do it without spikes. About halfway p I thought oh shit, but like you say your commited by that point and the only way is up.🤣👍
Thanks again for the comments Andrew, appreciate them👍
Stay safe mate,
ATB
Frank🏴🏴
Like wise absolutely welcome Frank 👍🏻🙏🏻
Hi Frank, wonderful video mate, a tough work in tough conditions. At least you got some views to speak off once you’d dropped off the summit. Thanks as always for sharing your adventure mate, all the best, Dave 😀🥾⛰🏴
Cheers Dave, appreciate the comments, it was a great hike even in those conditions, could have made it easier for myself on last scramble, but just lazy not getting the spikes out of bag.
Yeh once lower down got some great views, never tire of looking at the Cobbler, such a fantastic mountain.
Thanks again Dave

Frank🏴🏴
Chucking spears on the spearhead 😂😂😂. I loved how you managed to hold two walking poles and a camera selfie stick and still manage to scramble up there! 😊😊😊😊. Meanwhile the spikes are in the bag and the ice axe is attached to the back! Dedication to the vlog! Brilliant Franko! Paulo
🤣🤣 yeh halfway up I thought, what a prick your in a pickle now.🤣🤣glad it wasn’t too long b4 I reached safety🤣 poles are a bloody nuisance in those situations.
Cheers again mate.

Franko
Hi Frank, Nice one... a good bit of exercise to get you ready for the season ahead 👍 Cheers
Cheers Charlie, yeh my 1st munro since last November so it was good to get the height again, looking forward to getting some new munros bagged.
Thanks again Charlie

Amazing Frank mate. I did Beinn Narnain from the main path. But i really want to do it from that way. But i will probably wait for better conditions. But well done on getting up their in the conditions and not wearing your spikes 😂.
Take care
Alan
Cheers Alan, appreciate the comments, yeh it’s defo the best way up, I’ve done it that way a few times now. Next time you do it, yeh go up that way.
Cheers again

Frank
Looks like a challenging route Frank. I'm heading up later this week and plan to tackle this one and Beinn Ime via Inveruglas, potential for Ben Vane as well, 🤞for decent(ish) weather, ready for spring, not keen on thick winter conditions.
Thanks for the watch & comment Matthew👍 It’s only challenging in those conditions Matthew, I’ve been up that route a few times and it’s really easy when not iced up. Hope you have a great trip and the weather is kind. There all great mountains.👍
Thanks again
ATB
Frank
Nice one Frank. Cracking winter route. Mind I descended it in winter a few years ago. Wis loaded with snow, so didnae feel as dodgy
Cheers Kev, it’s a cracking route, and if we get another dumping of snow me and Murchie are gonna do it again.
Cheers Kev

Great stuff Frank. Narnain was one of my early ones and I didn’t do this route . Looks a great scramble up the spearhead. You will be looking forward to some new Munros with Spring approaching. Cheers and ATB. 👍
Cheers Andrew, it’s defo the best way up Narnain, done it a few times up the spearhead now and enjoyed it every time.
Canny wait for some new munros mate.
ATB
Frank
Brilliant Frank😍👌🏻..Enjoy your vlog buddy…Really enjoyed watching your scramble up the Spearhead..I really fancy doing that one in full winter conditions..Great stuff mate 😁👍
Cheers
Roberto
Cheers Robert, glad you enjoyed it mate, if we get another good dumping of snow I’d do it again with you.☃️☃️🏔👍

Franko
@@hikingwithfrank315 That would be great Frank 😍👍
You crazy man 😂
Spikes and ice axe ? Naa , camera pole will do 👍😂
Dedication to the video 👍😂
I did a Corbett (Meall nan Subh) a wee bit further north east of you on that same day and I had far more snow a foot deep and more and no clag. In fact the Munros around me cleaned by the afternoon..
Not done a munro for ages now, so I know were your coming from ..
Cheers mate, yeh half way up the spearhead I thought WTF am I doing, but was too late to put them on and didn’t fancy down climbing to put them on🤣🤣
Was glad to get some snow higher up and yeh could have done with it being a bit deeper.
Sounds like you had a great day.👍
Hopefully get some new munros for both of us soon.👍
ATB
Frank
Only way is up Frank! - disappointed you never went 10ft up a few times at the scramble to place the camera and make it more tricky on yourself. 😂Sell your safety gear you don't need any of that stuff, I will buy your Garmin. Seriously though it looked a great trek and could see you were enjoying being back up at height...best route that. 🗻👍
🤣🤣 cheers Dave, yeh rookie mistake just going for it without taking 5 before I started. Would have been a breeze with spikes on, poles tucked away and ice axe out. I could maybe have placed the camera 10ft higher then.🤣🤣
Yeh all in all it was a great hike up even in the clag.
Cheers again mate
ATB
Frank
@@hikingwithfrank315 Pulling yer pisser Frank - you could have done that in your bare feet - just the camera that makes it look tricky! 😏😅
Cracking Frank nice way to ascend via the buttress
Cheers Andrew, yeh it’s defo the best way, done it this way a few times now and loved it.
Cheers again
ATB
Frank
Great video there Frank. Looked tricky going up the spearhead, I would have put those poles away and got the ice axe out. How many Munros have you got left now? ATB Andy
Cheers Andy, it certainly was tricky going up and yeh I should’ve put them on for safety.
44 left now Andy.
Well done for filming in those conditions. You looked like you were bricking it to me😀
@@brianmcbain6997 cheers Brian, yeh I must admit half way up when I was commited I thought WTF. But had to continue up as it was safer than descending, I think I still enjoyed it 🤣🤣
Cheers Brian,
ATB
Frank
I’ve had years of Scottish climbing and I think you have been totally irresponsible climbing tye latter part in the gully without having crampons on. You were on your own and to be , could have falling especially when I see you climbing on your knees . You may have done that before , so you should have know better !. How did you climb back down ?. Think about the people that could have been called out to a rescue . Wise up Frank !. Technology will not save you !!🙄
Hi Phillip, appreciate your comments. I think we all at some point make wrong decisions on the mountains, and this was certainly one of mine. Yeh I had been up that route a few times before and yes I knew what to expect and should’ve taken the time to put my spikes on and put my poles away. At no time did I feel my life was in danger, it was just harder than it should’ve been.
I came back down the other side of the mountain which is much easier.
