I would never return to Sony now. I’ve even had a PS5 and I refused it. It was a present and I’ll give it away to a family member. I’ve deleted my PSN. Sure, I’ve lost hundreds of games and wasted loads of money but you know what? I’ll stick with PC and Xbox…

The difference with Xbox games making you make an Xbox account on Steam is that the sign is there from the start, so you are in the refund time limit

The only time a PC cost exponentially more than a console is when you build it for the first time. And even then, if you build it on a budget you can make a PC at around or slightly more powerful than a console for around the same price. Even if you go over a little, it's still cheaper because you're not paying for multiplayer. And console players like to act like PC players have to upgrade every few years. I built my first PC last year, only thing I'd have to upgrade any time in the near future is my GPU and maybe more storage and I don't plan on doing that any time soon because my 4070ti is playing all the games I want at good performance and I've got 4tb worth of storage.

I think building a PC close to a console's launch will most likely be a little more expensive for the same power, unless you use used parts. From my experience anyway.

Starfield to it's credit is still in the top 10 on the charts of Xbox, but Helldivers II has fallen out of favor.

I've seen people saying that having to use a PSN account is not a problem, that it is easy and quick to create one. But it is the principle. Sony is forcing Steam users to play Helldivers 2 on Sony's terms, and that is why everyone's pissed.

I thought the same with Rockstar games launcher but that thing is crap. It requires me to fill captcha 10 times to log in and offline mode is broken plus it's slow AF. I'll never buy a game that requires 3rd party launcher. And if Sony is headed in that direction, then they can kindly f*ck off.

For anyone who hasn't heard: the decision to require Helldivers 2 players to create a PSN account was in fact reversed! Sony acknowledged via their official PlayStation Twitter account that they are "still learning" and they heard us loud and clear, noting that the update will not be going through and it will not be a requirement to link PSN to your Steam account for Helldivers. While it was still a massive fumble to even attempt it in the first place, at least they understand and are willing to admit that it was a bad idea, even if that admission is couched in corporate-speak.
I'd also argue that, while Arrowhead isn't completely innocent in this as the CEO said on Twitter that he was aware PSN linking would be introduced (he just didn't realize it would be a sticking point for PC players), they are still doing the best they can since from what they said it was ultimately Sony's decision as the publisher. Which makes me even more glad to know that Sony was able to wise up on this one. It's also really great to know that stuff like the mass downvotes on the Steam page and the flurry of discourse on Twitter and other spaces actually worked.

Been playing on PS5 from a week in (will never get a game day one, has kept me out of those broke releases for a long time) so am not affected by this. As of about two hours ago sony has made the game no longer able to be purchased on steam in regions where psn is not available. They went full scorched earth here.
They should of just made it avilable but no psn account would be required to play counting off access to 111 countries isnt smart

Even when I have a PSN account, let alone a PS5 for better or worse however anyone puts it lol, I refuse to support Sony on this bs on Steam when it was functioning perfectly fine. They should keep it optional like they had, making the cross play an optional thing. But nope, like corporate, they can't help themselves and destroyed something that was loved by many, even when I don't care much about the game myself to begin with.
Supposedly it was to be a requirement at the start, but due to bugs and glitches (and the fact Arrowhead did not expect so many players at launch), it had to be put to the wayside. Now that everything running smoothly, it seems the "requirement" is back.
Okay for real I'm not a big bang theory fan really, but young Sheldon is quite good. It's a completely different style than BBT. It's not even really a comedy

yeah this is a non negotiable, if this doesn't work, to sony there is no point on putting any game on PC. its probably inherit to their business model when it comes to porting games to PC. meaning if they cant get you on PSN and have you eventually pay to play their games online, there is no platform.
Exactly, but also, it's a way for them to appear to be "growing" because the console market has been stagnant for 20 years now, it has a ceiling of about 200 million. Even though it was widely reported that Xbox hardware is failing, you can quickly Google that Switch, and Playstation hardware sales are also down from expectations.
Once everyone who wants a Playstation, Switch or Xbox has one, they need to pad their numbers in other ways. The PSN/Xbox Gamepass method is the way to do this. So, even if they only end up with 75 million consoles sold, they can say "well, we have 200 million PSN users" so it looks like they're still growing.
Basically, like you said. If they reverse this, it will be temporary. Again, they need to make the numbers look good.

I never understood why people get up in arms about these things. PC/PS/Xbox/Switch they are all different markets and certain things will sell or do better in each markets. Helldivers 2 feels more like a PC game. So I am not surprised that market is buying/playing it more(at least until the Ps account fiasco).

Bethesda, despite negative reviews, generally gets passes because they at least try to fix their games sometimes at the expense of mod support.
That's the bare minimum PC players will give you, and that is a purchase.

the only thing about bethesda update breaking mods isnt really an issue its only the script extender that needs updating then all the mods will work again they do get a pass though because they do eventually come back up patch their games up a little bit but what they should do is update it without it effecting the mod structure and breaking the script extenders in the process but it is what it is
