The dynamic island is certainly clever and has good implementation, but is really not that different in comparison to just standard notifications. Might be the door to new things tho
That thing that makes Dynamic Island a little more than just a gimmick is the way the thing's animated. The surroundings (battery, signal and wifi icons etc.) react to it aswell and that makes it very appealing to look at.
@@kjapa2880 But that's the point, they won't give you that luxury unless you pay for the Pro model. I feel like the notch can also be turned into a sort of dynamic island with the proper software update. The dynamic island just a notch moved down to be its own thing so with tweaking you could turn the notch into a dynamic notch
Recently upgraded my phone and can say that its a very pleasant and intuitive way of displaying secondary content but by no means a huge upgrade as this video showcases
Everyone likes to shit on the dynamic island, but I think it’s pretty cool! It’s nifty, but we didn’t ask for it. We just want the headphone jack back!
I love how airdrop actually has some sort of UI (for airdrop to myself). Before if I sent a large batch of files or a large file to another device if sound isnt on theres no way to know if anything is happening.
Still honestly think the standard UI looking better. Changing things for the sake of change honestly. The amount of people that'll have dirty cameras will be insane with the dynamic island.
Dynamic island with the notch attached with the bezel makes more sense rather than having on the screen . Defeats the whole point of it tryna make the notch more subtle . . But if you think through this concept of dynamic island is literally a crap and not innovative / functional at all.
Good idea, really nice effects, but comprehension is not so good as it was. And a hole in a screen feels worse than a brow of old iphone X. And earlier apple did a good job in hiding it by dark wallpapers and overall styling. Now all defaults wallpapers are bright and that hole is annoying. More annoying than brow, which is mostly invisible after few minutes of using an iphone. Now it is a big dark hole accented with nice effects. Personaly i like old brow better. And old brow, not from iPhone 13, but from X-12, it was slimmier and left us more space on screen.
Yeah mate, I kinda don't know why people hated iPhone X style uni-brow, after all the software is designed not to use the space that outside of the safe area. And then it went funky with 13 by taking more and more screen estate. And phones in general have to rethink multitasking, it was a nice shot to aim for this, but my guessing are, nobody would use the API of it. Let alone, expanding more than it can offer. This kind of problem has other parts of the IOS and Android in general (Like how you can PIP videos, but not still images, and the way it's so bulky).
Amazing video. Wow there are so many cool and things you can do with the dynamic island. It's very useful. I wonder if when you wake up the iPhone while charging it shows every time the current battery percentage as every iphone in iOS 15 and earlier. Also if you can make iPhone comparisons with the iPhone 14 Pro and unboxing video it will be welcomed.
Thanks for your comment! Unfortunately there’s no battery percentage on wake. I really hope they’ll bring that back, I think it’ll work quite well with the Dynamic Island. And yes, more videos to come!
@@spott. you’re welcome Can’t wait for more videos from you,you are great. One of the best if not the best. And yes I agree with you. Dynamic island can also be great for quick controls from control center like volume progress and brightness too. Actually dynamic island is kind of Touch Bar on iPhone
It seems like a lot of people got distracted with the functions of the Dynamic Island and forgot about the Pill-Shaped Cutout. At a time when there's a race to make screens less and less obstructed, it seems that Apple doesn't care. The iPhone 14 Pro series even has the Pill-Shaped Cutout that drops lower into the screen than the Notch, hiding screen content even more in full-screen mode.
Just like with the notch before, it doesn’t get in the way because the phone is taller and the UI is designed around it. The phone is not 16:9 aspect ratio, videos do not get near the cutout.
@@hunterjay8331 just look at your picture with the 2 phones. The Pill-Shaped Cutout is going lower down into the screen. It this the only phone in the world that have something intrusive in the screen.
i know right. It's really bugging if you watch a video in full screen. Android phones are trying to figure out how to hide their small hole punches under screen meanwhile apple made it a big pill shaped. Apple even doesn't have underscreen fingerprint yet. smh. I've been apple user for 7 years now btw
I honestly don't know what the hate is for. It looks quite good and has very fluid animations. Apple really designed something new and good in like forever. Gotta give credit to the designers and developers who came up with the idea. I am not really an apple fanboy, nor do I use iphones but this was really a breath of fresh air in otherwise the regular bland UI/UX design.
When I first saw it being announced, I thought Dynamic Island was kinda useless and a little bit bullshit. But now I realized that Apple did it again and changed the whole industry with something super small that no one thought of before.
Well once you reallize that for everything it does it has to display something on both sides of the notch in order to stay symetrical you reallize the useless information it displays half the time apple would never implement othewhise lol.
(sounds like hate but they found the best solution you can have with this akward thing. Like they did a good job but it feels like this aint it. Id imagine they remove it soon again.)

Thank you so much!
The dynamic island is certainly clever and has good implementation, but is really not that different in comparison to just standard notifications. Might be the door to new things tho
Love the dynamic island, really awesome way to interact with iPhone
That thing that makes Dynamic Island a little more than just a gimmick is the way the thing's animated. The surroundings (battery, signal and wifi icons etc.) react to it aswell and that makes it very appealing to look at.
Gimmicks are designed to be cool to look at
@@aseem7w9gimmicks are cool but not functional though unlike the dynamic island
Been waiting for this kinda video, truly amazinggg the D.I
Most of this Apple could have implemented with the“classic“ notch too
I was hyped first day, but then realised the island is just a lowered notch with fancy animations that couldve been done on the old notch aswell.
@@kjapa2880 But that's the point, they won't give you that luxury unless you pay for the Pro model. The bathtub notch could've simply be used in a more dynamic fashion if apple wanted. but they need something to differentiate the Pros and Non pros and we will start to see similar trend as we go with iPhone 15 series where 15 is much more basic, almost identical to 13 & 14 while the 15pros will have another cool feature to further their cause. Smart for them sad for consumers.
@@prakharagnihotri5579doesn’t matter now because they added some of the pro features to the base 15
I Like how almost Dynamic Island has a great use of space and the lots of things you can do with it !
U have to respect them for listening us ppl and trying their best to coverup the notch
So it doesn’t feel like a notch and rather a software thing
Obviously when the notch was released many of us hated on it but as the time went on we got use to it
So for some ppl the regular notch might feel better than the new one but again as we get use to the new one we will actually get to know that the new one is much better
Nice work. This is much more extensive than any other reviews on Dynamic Island.
Dynamic island is amazing. Whoever says otherwise just copes with their outdated iphone.
Good, but not an incentive for promotion
@@فارسالتميمي-ع7غ as an all time android user, it was incentive enough for me. I mean, I left a ton of features behind moving from Android, Apple had to show me something.
@@KrypteiaXi I just prefer the look of the notch when it’s not being used for the dynamic stuff
@@V4nd4m4n i have come from android and we haven’t had a notch in 5 years. I could never spend so much money on a phone with a notch.
@@KrypteiaXi it’s completely preference and I just don’t like how the island looks
So glad I'm getting the 14 pro this month
In short, shows less info while taking up more space, but looks nice and sleek.
@ 3:45 I learned something new didn’t know that I could’ve checked on my timer by swiping down on my old phone
I had the iPhone 13 Pro Max and it was AMAZING! Switch to the iPhone 14 Pro max and it’s basically the same. Dynamic island is a little boring nothing much to it. Camera is alright. Brightness is HUGE outside.
Have the 13 pro max and don’t think it would be an upgrade so I haven’t bought one
@@itoburrito9151 he got fooled and let apple take his money🤣😂😂 and that’s good that you didn’t do the same as the person you commented to lol
THIS IS WHAT I NEEDED THANK YOU SO MUCH
I feel like the notch can also be turned into a sort of dynamic island with the proper software update.
The dynamic island just a notch moved down to be its own thing so with tweaking you could turn the notch into a dynamic notch
Quite impossible, it’s not typical style😂
Recently upgraded my phone and can say that its a very pleasant and intuitive way of displaying secondary content but by no means a huge upgrade as this video showcases
Everyone likes to shit on the dynamic island, but I think it’s pretty cool! It’s nifty, but we didn’t ask for it. We just want the headphone jack back!
Yeah I wish the headphone jack would come back but I doubt they ever will.
Thank you for taking the time to put this together . Great to see side by side like others have said
Thanks for watching :)
I prefer those regular notifications
this is one of the best videos I’ve ever seen
It's kinda funny that the notch takes up less space than the dynamic island
Just subscribed solely on background music alone. 🙏🏾 Good stuff.
I love how airdrop actually has some sort of UI (for airdrop to myself). Before if I sent a large batch of files or a large file to another device if sound isnt on theres no way to know if anything is happening.
Been using the Dynamic Island for about a week now and it is a huge improvement over the notch this video is a perfect demonstration 👏💯
Someone comment the Dynamic Island is more intrusive than the notch 😂😂. They obviously don’t have Dynamic Island
@@anon2414 Right they need to get it and see for themselves 😂😂
Still honestly think the standard UI looking better. Changing things for the sake of change honestly. The amount of people that'll have dirty cameras will be insane with the dynamic island.
Right, because it is a huge problem to do a two second wipe of the camera before taking a selfie...
@@jiriq8853 except people don't...
I feel that the dynamic island is good for the most part but sometimes it does too much and makes it take longer
Yeah, Apple loves their animations. It makes the phone feel slower, though. I wish there was a way to speed up or turn off animations completely.
Nice comparison video, had not seen it from Apple itself, so very helpful.
I honestly like the standard UI more than the Dynamic island
Same
Great video, I hoped you had added what it's like when two things are used at the same time, then the island splits. More dynamic!
Dynamic island with the notch attached with the bezel makes more sense rather than having on the screen . Defeats the whole point of it tryna make the notch more subtle . . But if you think through this concept of dynamic island is literally a crap and not innovative / functional at all.
Cool video and awesome music. Thank you for making this.
This kind of problem has other parts of the IOS and Android in general (Like how you can PIP videos, but not still images, and the way it's so bulky).
wow that was really well put together
Amazing video. Wow there are so many cool and things you can do with the dynamic island. It's very useful. I wonder if when you wake up the iPhone while charging it shows every time the current battery percentage as every iphone in iOS 15 and earlier.
Also if you can make iPhone comparisons with the iPhone 14 Pro and unboxing video it will be welcomed.
Thanks for your comment! Unfortunately there’s no battery percentage on wake. I really hope they’ll bring that back, I think it’ll work quite well with the Dynamic Island. And yes, more videos to come!
@@spott. you’re welcome
Can’t wait for more videos from you,you are great. One of the best if not the best.
And yes I agree with you. I think apple can even add emojis to the dynamic island while you typing and you can press on it at the dynamic island to add it for your text. Dynamic island can also be great for quick controls from control center like volume progress and brightness too.
Actually dynamic island is kind of Touch Bar on iPhone
@@spott. they are bringing it back in iOS 16.1
I didn’t realize how much I’d actually appreciate the dynamic island until after I got my iPhone 14 Pro Max
Giving Apple credit here, while Dynamic Island seems like a silly name it’s an incredible innovation. It’s the perfect “roll with the punches” feature
Super well made video. Thank you for doing a side-by-side.
APPLE NEVER CARED ADN WILL NEVER WILL.
Well said. In S22 Ultra theres just a punch hold camera. Rest sensors and front speakers are hidden.
i know right. It's really bugging if you watch a video in full screen. Android phones are trying to figure out how to hide their small hole punches under screen meanwhile apple made it a big pill shaped. Apple even doesn't have underscreen fingerprint yet. smh. I've been apple user for 7 years now btw
Best quality video I've ever seen. thanks.
Island is bad at content consumption it is too far down. Hope the next iteration will be better (litte upwards) with video consumption in mind.
0:14 whats the ringtone used here how do i get it? *Android*
The ringtone is called 'Hillside'. It's on all iPhones running iOS 7 or later. You can probably find it somewhere on TH-cam to download.
Now i appreciate the dynamic island. Good comparison! :)
I honestly don't know what the hate is for. It looks quite good and has very fluid animations. Apple really designed something new and good in like forever. Gotta give credit to the designers and developers who came up with the idea. I am not really an apple fanboy, nor do I use iphones but this was really a breath of fresh air in otherwise the regular bland UI/UX design.
i am kinda obsessed with the equalizer for the music on the dynamic island
When I first saw it being announced, I thought Dynamic Island was kinda useless and a little bit bullshit. But now I realized that Apple did it again and changed the whole industry with something super small that no one thought of before.
Love the music choices
Well once you reallize that for everything it does it has to display something on both sides of the notch in order to stay symetrical you reallize the useless information it displays half the time apple would never implement othewhise lol.
(sounds like hate but they found the best solution you can have with this akward thing. Like they did a good job but it feels like this aint it. Id imagine they remove it soon again.)
Thank you for the detailed comparison! ❤
You failed to mention the DI pill covering up videos... big no.
Why u jave so little subs man . Video is awesome
Both solutions are pretty bad.
