    FYI ... I found out today that accidentally leaving one of the hoses on the intake near the air filter disconnected after changing the air filter will throw the exact code for this bank1 sensor2 O2 sensor failure
    my torque app said the light was on for 'o2 sensor slow to respond'
    if you have this code for bank1 sensor 2, first check all of the hoses that attach to the intake before digging into this O2 sensor repair - especially if you've recently had the air filter out
    if writing this helps at least one person it's worth it

    P1037 is Bank 1 Sensor 2 which is the O2 Sensor AFTER the catalytic. 1st check for exhaust leaks, fix any and clear the code, if it returns, check the wires for fraying or cuts and check the connection. The code is stating there is low voltage detected. Lastly replace the O2 sensor behind the catalytic, my preference is Denso any day of the week. Oh and the connector for Sensor 2 with the 4 cylinder is located underneath the front passenger seat..

  • @Muffffin
    @Muffffin 6 ปีที่แล้ว +18

    This sensor is the "downstream" O2 sensor on the 05 Hybrid Accord. The upstream being the A/F sensor as the warm up three way catalytic converter is attached to the cylinder head.
    I note this because the upstream is more expensive so I hope I could save somebody some money.

      But this video is for the 03-06 non-hybrid Accord. (The downstream in the regular Accord is under the passenger seat, well after the engine's exhaust flex section.)
      This video shows replacement of the upstream sensor on a non-hybrid Accord.

    coupla notes - the photography on this video is good. where you bent the heat shield, ,thats a small retaining loop for the sensor wire. if you buy the right O2 removal socket you can attach it to a 3/8 ratchet. I really dont think you want anti-seize on that sensor. they are very susceptible to certain chemicals.

I found that the new cable was missing the three small rubber holder clips, so i had to re-use the ones mounted on the oem cable. But to do that i had to cut them open which isn't perfect, but you'll find the sensor cable won't hang under the car anyway even without using them. That was a minor let down. Maybe all the replacement parts are this way. Well, it works and i didn't pay for a Honda part which would be more.
