I love the Cure, the Smiths & Morrissey. I've seen both bands & Morrissey Solo multiple times. I know what an impossible, pretentious Diva Morrissey is capable of being. The number of gigs he's canceled with no explanation is infuriating to his fans, whom without he'd be running a Vegan ice cream stand in Lancashire. Celebrities who take their fans for granted are ungrateful twats, like Morrissey.

Morrissey was wrong for firing the first shot, in my opinion. I think The Cure is a far superior band to The Smiths or any solo Morrissey work, but I think both The Cure and The Smiths have a huge crossover in fanbases. Imagine if Morrissey hadn't started shit and actually tried to work with Robert. They could have had some amazing double-headlining tours together. Not to mention, I know The Smiths had radio play, but they had nowhere close to the mainstream attention that The Cure had. I think they could have helped each other out a lot.
Imagine if Morissey and Marr didn't have to come to dislike eachother enough to break up the Smiths =[. Same could be said with New Order. I feel like the Cure is the only band I really enjoy that managed to stay relevant and constantly push out new, good, and interesting music. A lot of the other bands I enjoy end up breaking apart or becoming increasingly mediocre.

Massive competing entities understand that to stir up a rivalry will invoke the masses' tribal mechanisms to pick sides and show/prove their loyalty with their money. Rap/hip-hop music has thrived on this model for decades. In mainstream music -- as shown above in the aforementioned Jennifer Lopez/Mariah Carey feud -- it is often times orchestrated by an industry insider, like a manager/agent, record exec etc etc because in the end, they reap the benefits by keeping their product (the artist) in the spotlight and they bank on the dividend payout, which I'm sure is a lot because a lot of these scumbags sign the talent for pennies while they write in whopping figures for themselves. Note one specific detail about every artist feud you've ever seen: have you ever ONCE seen a member of the music press (MTV, VH1, MuchMusic, Rolling Stone, Spin, any FM radio program etc etc) try to convince an artist to squash a beef? Hell no, they ask the hard-ball questions that only serve to throw gasoline on the fire. And why? Like you said: $$$$$$$$$$$.

Morrisey said in an interview that he regretted those insulting comments he made against Robert Smith back in The 80s and that he thinks he should still be held accountable for something he said so many years ago, and when Robert Smith was asked about it in an interview not long after he said he hadn't thought about the feud between him and Morrisey in a long time and that he no longer holds any bad blood against him.

My husband got me 2 kittens in 2017 and I named one of them Sammy Hagar, but I just call him Sammy or Samsam, but his full name is actually Sammy Hagar. LOVE YOU SAMMY! ;)
