Yeah they’re great, we’ve been using those in France for centuries !
Pro tip : out of the box, you should bury them for 3 weeks and let them rust, so that the square holds better.
You should also have gloves on when handling the traps, moles have a strong sense of smell.

@@alxs2666 well as professional mole catchers we have to disagree I’m afraid.
We use traps straight from the box all the time of all different types, never makes a difference.
We only wear gloves because we all have lovely nails. ☺️

Not 3 weeks but months. This tool works but not of the box. And when used these little clips open, way too weak for the spring and you can t buy them seperately. Also big moles will not go in and push them.

Will definately be trying these traps. Only had success with flushing them out with water and digging. Scissor traps they just dig around. Ours never seem to dig in straight lines and the ground is a network of tunnels, also used by a staggering amount of voles.

You forgot the most important part : put the Putanges in.the mud for a year to rust before using as they are totally unworkable right out of the box and snap in a second. There are also other details not shown from this super complicated horrible tool, like which side is under/above, how to set them in the right spring direction after snapping, to put the clip 100% straight and at what distance inside the string. Took me a couple of afternoons to master them. The worst being the rusty part, just couldn t understand the damn spring without utube.
