  • TRAPPING MOLES with SCISSOR TRAPS is an art. This is how to trap a mole!
    Knowing where, why and when to use a scissor mole trap is part of the secret.
    We show you the secrets in this TH-cam video! Mole trapping and mole catching in the uk, this is how to catch a mole with a scissor mole trap, aka a claw trap for moles /mole claw trap. We like to call this mole trap a scissor mole trap.

      Half the skill is laying the traps, the other half is getting traps that work.
      The ones we sell are the only ones we use…..so we know they work 👍🏼✅

      @@johnnunn8688 technology is constantly letting us down. It seems to make very little difference if we buy expensive or cheap. It’s all made in China rubbish. Amazon doesn’t really help because all they care about is selling, they don’t care if the descriptions are misleading or lies.

    I've got the buggers in my raised beds eating my worms, got 6 scissor traps and caught 1, but the other bugger is filling in the tunnel just before the trap, and tunneling round it, now ordered another 6 but gone for the duffers this time, should be easier to fit under the edge of the wooden beds. thanks for all the tips!

    I have moles on my allotment. Set two scissor traps on Sunday, Tues I had my first mole 👍. I am on solid clay, so have to use a couple of thin bits of wood over the top of the hole, grass over that, then soil to seal the light out. Seems to work OK. Thanks for the expert info.

      you can always beef up the light blocking with a piece of cardboard with a slot cut so it doesn't impede the scissor arms. I used to use this a lot on shallow runs and it worked for me

    THANK YOU, SIR! Shurely theres is a knighthood waiting for you!!
    I have tried and tried and tried again… Turns out, that the important thing is the loose soil! I set 4 traps yesterday, and this morning, a 14cm big boy was caught! And right in the spine, so it didn’t suffer.
    I have worked for 24 years as a pest controller (in Denmark) but just with rats and insects. So thank you again.

    Your dog is cute!! lol. I'm in Illinois, US so we mostly have the eastern grey mole. Do you have many 'feeder runs' with the European moles? I see you mainly focusing on the 'mole eruptions'. Also, do you have links for the traps you use? I like those scissor trap designs as well as the loop traps you used in another video. Thank you! :) Happy Hunting!

    • @PestInterceptors
      @PestInterceptors  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We sadly lost Pinot the Mole hunting dog last week. She will be sorely missed.
      We find some traps work best in the feeding loop, some traps in the mole hills, it just depends on the trap and the land/soil/trap.
      The loop traps (barrel traps) are from Lodi based in Kingswinford, West Midlands, England.

    • @PestInterceptors

      @lawts1240 it’s said that moles work 4 hours on 4 hours off 24/7, so no, set the traps whenever you want.

    Crushed slag was used on fields as a 'fertiliser' to supply minerals such as phosphates.

      Very rarely as they make tunnels to find food, the soil under buildings are pretty lifeless and don’t contain the insects they like to eat.

    I have used a scissor trap every year over the last 5 years and have NEVER caught a mole. I thought I may be setting it wrongly but I do EXACTLY what you do and it NEVER works. I wear gloves, find the tunnel, set it in the centre cover with soil and a bucket over the top and voila NO Mole caught. The only tome i got one was with a spade!

    • @PestInterceptors
      @PestInterceptors  ปีที่แล้ว

      Lots of traps look the same as the ones we use.
      Like everything though there are good makes and bad makes.
      I recently bought 50 mouse traps that looked absolutely identical the the ones we usually use, they were £1 a trap cheaper.
      I’ve ended up throwing them all in the bin, all 50.
      So buying cheap not only cost me the cost of the traps, it also meant more waisted time. The time was a lot more valuable than the £50 saving on the traps.
      Mole traps are no different. Always try to buy British. Never buy Chinese!!!
