I’ve been looking at several German short row heel videos and yours is the best I’ve come across as a beginner. You just explain well without filling in with chit chat. You also give really clear visuals, especially with the black background and white contrasting yarn. Thank you so much!

@@SuzanneBryan if I may ask a couple of questions - I had 20 stitches on my heel needle and the heel turn was really easy! I had 7 stitches on the outside of the markers and 6 stitches in the middle. I haven't finished the cuff yet - barely 5 rounds in so far, actually. But the heel seems somewhat pointed to my eyes at this moment. My first question is, as I progress along the leg/cuff, will that become more normal looking? My second question is, if I had chosen to do 6 stitches on the outside and 8 stitches in the middle, would that have made less of a sharp turn? Thanks in advance!

I've knitted a lot of socks over the years, but this is the first time I tried this heel. I just knitted alongside with your video and the heel turned out absolutely perfectly. Thank you so much for the simple explanations and the visual help. It's so much easier to do it if you see it in a video than trying to decipher a written instruction.

Just wanted to say thank you! I hav tried reg heels and afterthought heels but wen I finish knitting my sock I want it done. I wanted something I cud use all the time. I finally found a method I understand and can use thanks to yur video. I had trouble with dropped stitches and realized I am not getting completely under the double stitches. Every time I make a heel...I learn something. I will use this on every pair I make. Thank you again. Stay safe! Just a girl in Tx.

EXCELLENT VIDEO DEMONSTRATION EVER. Used many times without an issue or bad result. I am a beginner at making socks and this was the best of all tutorials I watched and tried. There are so many to view but none like this one. Love the extra rounds before the adding back in the stitches. I could knit heels over and over it is made so easy in the overwhelming fear in the challenge of doing this step of making socks. Thank you very much.

Wonderful video. I am doing a marly bird tutorial and I just couldn't get the double stitch on the right side row. I can see perfectly what you did. I was just taking the yarn fro. Front to back and then knitted the next stitch. You pulled the yarn to the front tight and then put it in back for the next stitch. No wonder I have holes. Mine was more of a yo.thanks so much.

I think I've been pulling my double stitch too much. I was afraid of it slipping back.
It looks much better the way you do it. So helpful.

Very true, the only video that explaines how to devide the stitches. I have found other one, but the lady was not using needles to knit, but her hands. She was moving her hands so much, it was really confusing even she has explained everything very nice, but I am autistic and I just could not imagine how to do it since I hold the needles and yarn like you.

I have seen quite a few videos but they are all so confuse Some csaese the yarn too fine to see , some cases the back ground and the yarn just camouflag all together. Only your clip has the yarn big enough to see, the back ground black and the white yarn just stand out, plus the instruction in the good old English. Thank you sooooooo much. I will have my first sock complete because of you. Happy New Year !
