for being a second playthrough I was surprised by your obliviousness to... everything, really. youtuber blindness has struck you hard. there were numerous times where i questioned if you were playing with the sound off and while so drunk you couldn't see anything
IKR I only found out about it a few days ago, but it came to october of last year, I'm so late to the party I missed the craze its such a good and refreshing game i wish it was more popular
It's hard if you go in blind. You're quickly thrown into the deep end of it all with no idea what you're doing. I was amazed at just how far you had to go before you actually finished the tutorials. This person's video is them replaying the game. They already know where to go and what to do. Honestly, I thought it would be more of a creature collector. I was disappointed at how little input you had over your character's appearances since many mutations are forced for puzzle solving.
The trebhums are actually oddly cute, this game is so underrated honestly Edit; I had to point out the little noise at 6:23:57 pls little trumpet noise 🥹
What a bizarre game. I find it visually repulsive in a lot of ways (the Zeno Clash developers sure do love their ugly designs), but not so much that I can't appreciate the style... regardless, the message and consistency is on-point. Definitely stands out among many other games and I regret that I only learned about it recently. Hopefully it was received well enough to justify a sequel, although I don't feel it's really necessary. The issue is unresolved, but it wouldn't have quite the same impact to have the cylinder resume its rampage. What makes this game so unique, though, is that it is a genuine survival game. Your entire goal is to stop yourself from being rolled over and you get to see exactly what happens to the land behind the cylinder when it advances. Even at the height of their power, the Trebhum could only serve to slow it down with their towers and if you ever failed even once to activate a tower, the whole world was doomed without a hope of survival. I like how they emphasized your powerlessness even in the final fight. You weren't fighting the creature, you were just trying to survive while your friends, returning the favor of you doing your part in what little way you can (preserving their memories), held back the cylinder's creature. Also I like how in a similar vein to Pikmin, you're basically in a post-human world. There are signs of humans and it's pretty clear you were helped by the remnant memories of one, but they're so far removed from the story that you only really see what's left of them in the horrible monsters and architecture of the "One" entity the Cylinder was creating. And you never really get a clear answer as to what the Cylinder is or who made it, just that it doesn't seem like humans were responsible, they were just the most dominant species to be absorbed by it, which is way better than what I was expecting (wherein humans tried to make a better society through AI or something to that effect and were overtaken; which the game doesn't feel like it hinted at in any way). I'd say this is an excellent representative of games as an art form. It's still a game, but it's also kinda something more. It stands out from other games, whether you consider it to be in a good or bad way, and does something totally different from any game before it. It leaves an impression.

EDIT: Nevermind, it seems closing and relaunching the game fixes it. I'm on my second playthrough, but this time around I can't get the Trebhum Shrine at 27:40 to open (the blue light line also doesn't show up and the patterns on the shrine don't glow); I'm assuming it's a glitch, because I don't think there's any steps I need to take beforehand in order to access it besides stopping the Cylinder at the tower, right? Has anyone else encountered this issue?

I love it because I like that you can upgrade guys and you are having a big adventure but... I hate leaving the eggs and the bee things behind and getting crushed cause that just makes me sad :( also don't forget I bet that's a good game for you to not give up on a big disaster and always help others to accomplish stuff!
A no-death run would be borderline impossible especially with so many Trebhum following behind you all the time. Not *impossible* but nearly. But that's sort of the point. Scrambling to survive against insurmountable odds and just barely coming out on top.
I have issues with the run at 7:42:30. I get a bit over half-way to the gate, before the cylinder picks up what seems about 3x speed. I have stamina almost fully upgraded. Does the cylinder pick up speed because I failed to do something in the area, or because I got too far ahead of it?
Embarrassingly, I only played this game briefly, but got stuck at 13:00 because none of the 3 trebhums I had could absorb either of the 2 squares in the elder cave. I quickly grew frustrated and shut it off lol.
There are some instances early on where you cant avoid it from happening, but there are ways to fight back with either spraying water or using mixer projectiles
Would take time to get inside after triggering the next phase. I wonder if it's even possible. Either way, the game would end if you didn't get to the next tower and the whole world would be covered in dust and smoke.
this game was on its way to a special place in my heart until the game breaking crashes lategame. wish the devs would go back and fix their barely 2 year old game
Technically no, the trehbum had to do a job for the trewhaala and get them on they’re side, they had to stop the cylinder to recover what they lost to being back life to the world if they hadn’t nothing would’ve been saved
In order to break free, the Trebhum had to survive long enough and contribute enough to get the Trewhaala to fight on their behalf, which broke the Mathematician/Voice free and allowed it to do damage. Had the Trebhum not continually activated those towers, the whole planet would have been rolled over. And the Cylinder isn't defeated. As the Voice said, it only lost the battle, not the war.
What's more, the Trebhum were responsible for the Trewhaala being there in the first place to help fight the Cylinder. It would have continued rolling over other planets somewhere else and this conflict would never have happened to stop it had the Trebhum not been their weird little selves singing out to the stars.

This game had one of many themes. The most powerful theme being that no matter the odds you can overcome anything together.
