B.S. I bought and used it with a 5 to 7 year old laptop with thunderbolt port with one usb c will go to max without power supply. Heck, my S23 ultra can even power it with just usb-c only

Yes, those settings can be adjusted in the menu options.
That 20% brightness limit when using USB C is a deal breaker!!! I was considering this monitor, not anymore
If it’s running at 100%, then it’s going to drain the laptop battery much much faster and it could be impractical. It’s much better to use an external battery pack as power source so you get the best of both worlds.
@Tools. Electro. DIY Actually, I was thinking of using the monitor with the laptop itself connected to a power supply. Having to plug 2 devices to the power supply is worse than just one of them
Where the heck did you get that protective case that folds into a stand? I thought it didn't come with one. People frequently say it has no case/sleeve.

Nintendo Switch requires external power to kick it into TV mode (without its dock). Does this monitor work by connecting the Switch DIRECTLY to it via the power+signal USB-C port, without needing the dock, considering that the monitor itself has a built-in battery?

No it doesn't have the 1/4 mount hole. You can use an iPad clamp for it.
