You actually didn't accept his offer. Then you won the battle but he didn't care and put you in stasis anyway then he took your suit as punishment for defying him.
He did that so Gordon would hopefully call less attention to himself, as the CPs would be more likely to go after someone wearing an expensive, out of place armored hazard suit then someone wearing a normal citizen jumpsuit.
Sneaking Sniper But If he had gotten off the train wearing his hazard suit(which probably have scrapes and dents in it from his time at Black Mesa), he probably would've gotten imediently beaten by the CPs, or hauled off to Nova Prospekt. Hell, Breen may have found out and ordered Gordon to be executed while he was defenseless. The G-Man had a plan.
And here's the body count for how many soldiers Gordon has killed! Including friendly-fire incidents that would be blamed on Gordon, the total comes out at around 138 soldiers, 4 tanks, and 3 helicopters. Depending on the number of people operating each tank and helicopter, it might be higher. But at the lower estimate, Gordon would be serving 2,484 years in New Mexico prison for the killing alone. I decided to rewatch this entire series while stuck in the hospital for a leg infection, and I have to say, this has still got to be one of the greatest shows available online! And has made my stay in the ER far easier. If you still read these comments Ross, thank you for your brilliant comedy, hard work, and dedication!
Ross said on his forum that his answer to FM2 is neither "Yes" nor is it "no". He's keeping it for the update video that's going to come out this month. Meanwhile he's submerged in a bacta tank from Star Wars like Luke was in Empire.
When this started, Bush was still president. When this started, I was a freshman. I've now finished college. When this started, the iPhone was still quite unpopular. When this started, Vista was Microsoft's flagship. .... you guys continue
This was the best series ever. Since I started watching I practically grew up, my life changed so many times. Feels like a constant thing got taken away from me. Even worse, Half-Life and stuff associated with it shaped my life quite a bit so this hurts extra. Like the final part of my childhood is now taken away. Damn, this feels like the death of a pet. Or a Doctor regenerating. I don't even what I'm feeling. You've created something amazing. Congrats and please continue with Half-Life 2!
You took the words/feelings right out of my head/heart. I grew up with this series. Ive watched and rewatched its entirety countless times and now here it is at the end. Best series on TH-cam definitely, its fucking legendary at this point
Danny don't end your Special Agent Kirrim series ok man? I already lost the greatest feel of hanging to the living instinct. Maybe you can do a tribute at least to the Dr. himself. Ross, thanks to your imagination, i have something to enjoy in this internet since 2006. Thanks!
Yes. Even I know several popular games that were before my time and that’s just so base level knowledge to have as a “true gamer”. Its not something to brag about to know but it is something to be a bit ashamed of if I didn’t.
16:31 "ATTENTION, VIEWERS! I come from the year 2015 and this series is still going" - Intelus Ross released this episode at the last minute possible just to prove this guy wrong
You could say it’s still going, but technically they didn’t continue the series in 2015, instead in 2017, so I would still count them as sufficiently spited.
@@spookmeyer970 There's no reason to count the sequel, it didn't start in 2015. So a hypothetical time traveller from 2015 would have no grounds to say that the series is still going.
I loved the comments at the end. Personal favorites are: "this is loosely based off my life." -Leonardo DiCraftio, "Why is there porn in the suggestions?" -Henry Acker, and "How the fuck did he get into MIT?" -RenegadeBurger.
+Tom Wallen I am certain that many of them were joke posts. Just as I am certain that many of them were, horrifically, not... Poe's Law makes it near-impossible to distinguish the two from each other without additional information. So it is safest to assume that people on the internet are strange, and dumb.
When I was a kid, my best friend introduced me to Freeman's Mind. Somewhere in 2010, 2011, I don't remember. Even tho I was in elementary school, I still loved the hell out of it, even back then. Got into the other Minds from there. The series've always had a special place in my heart, cause they remind me of him. He didn't live to see the final episode of Freeman's Mind. Sometimes, I come back and rewatch the series in a marathon for him. He would've loved the hell out of the ending.
The longest running series on youtube..has finally come to an end....and i am heart broken. 7 years you gave us...and 7 years we gave back. Thank you so much for this entire series. Whatever you do next...i happily await it. Stay Gold!
Saint-Gnome Cult The longest for me then? I honestly can't think of a single other series on youtube that has lasted for 7 years or longer even considering youtube only came out in like 2005
Ross, Congratulations. Over the last seven years you have sunk *only Gordon knows* how many hours into this creation of yours, and a beautiful and glorious creation it is. Through glitches, and hardware failure, and Machinima, and of course all the things having a life of your own entails; you have continued to work on this project. It's come in fits and starts, to be sure, but such is the nature of any creative work, and I want to commend you not only on your perseverance, but on your dedication and the vision you had for the series. You deserve more money and appreciation than you will ever receive for this creation, but I'd like to think that it won't ever be forgotten. Thank you for taking us on this journey, and may each successive project you take up be even more successful and fulfilling than the last.
Ross Scott... Thank you. A tear came to my eye when I saw your name after you went into gmans portal. This series has been a part of my life since freshman year of high school. Thank you.
I stood up at the end of this and applauded. It's been a great six years, Ross. Goddamn, The Colbert Report and Freeman's Mind ends in the same couple-week period. Touchstones of my life just vanish.
So here we are at the end of this long voyage. Its been seven years since Freeman showed up late to work. Its kind of hard to believe that its all over now. Needless to say, kudos to Ross for making such a superb series! I can't wait to see what he has to put out next now that Freeman's Mind is concluded.
You're the Elder God of TH-cam, Ross! I literally have no other words to say than this is the best web series in the entirety of the internet. I've been watching since Episode 5, and man, oh man, it was one helluva ride! Thank you so much for creating this astounding work of art! I'm going to die happy knowing that this series is finished after 7 glorious years! You are the absolute best, and I hope you stay that way.
The End of an Era. Ross thank you so much for doing these. There are few entertainers like you out there and I can't wait to see what else you've got in store :)
Take a breather. You earned it. You're already going to take one, but you'd probably feel better with audience approval. 200 likes already? Good job everyone! Keep it going!
last time i checked on this series was around 2009-2010 and then i didnt had the patience, so tonight i was bored on youtube and i just remembered this series just to find out it was completed 11 months ago?! damn now i can finally rewatch it all!
Reading some of the comments is so bizarre. You can tell from the way people are typing and the trends and references of how long this video has been up. Reading comments from like 2008-2011 was a real throwback to how shitty commentators were back in the day. My personal favorite was "lol last two episodes he said he was in mexico now he says he's in America MAKE UP YOUR MIND MAN" -gameboycolor47
Apparently gameboycolor47, from what I could find on them, would go on to become a brony writing fanfiction on deviant art... So that may explain a lot.
Well done, Ross. Freeman's Mind quickly became one of my favorite things on TH-cam, and I'm glad to see you made it all the way to the end. If you ever decide to do HL2, I'll be there.
That was something. Started watching this series in... primary school I think, finishing watching when I'm almost 30. Gotta admit it to Ross, he makes us wait, but at least he keeps delivering absolutely top notch stuff.
Jesus Christ it's already been three years since this went up?! I remember when I was watching this back in 2009 just entering high school... man, life comes at you fast.
This is so bittersweet for me. I've been watching this series since it first came around, I was just entering high school and it was actually something of a pick-me-up through some tough times. Coming home to find one of these had just come out was often the highlight of my day. Times are better now of course, but I've followed every step of the way, and in some ways I'm so happy to see it finished. It's so wonderful that this series got the ending it deserved. But at the same time... it's ended. Freeman's mind is over. Ross, please don't stop making wonderful works. Part of me hopes you continue on with Half-Life 2, but even if it's not Freeman's Mind that you continue with, I just love seeing your content. Stay golden man, I'll still be here in the future. And to offset the seriousness of that paragraph: Life is like a box of chocolates, it melts if you hold it between your thighs.
Holy crap; anyone see the "What's this game?" comments in the credit sequence? Jesus, I don't know if I should feel old or I should rage against console philistines.
in spite of the fact it's unlikely ross is moving on to half life 2, i'm not the only one that likes to think of this freeman as the canon freeman am i?
Okay. Love this series. I rewatched it several times. Ross did an amazing job. I hate how a lot if people thought he's doing a regular gameplay and they disliked him talking. The name of the series is Freeman's mind of course he's gonna talk. But what do you do now Ross? Will you continue only the game dungeon or do you have other plans?
Lots of plans. So many in fact, I'm not announcing it now. Expect a video later in January outlining all plans, get some feedback from everyone on different things, etc.
Accursed Farms Please do Freeman's Mind of HL2 too, even if it takes another few years. I have a big gap in my heart now, that there's no more Freeman's Mind episodes coming :(
Ah, it's sad but satisfying to see a series you've watched since the beginning finally come to an end. It's been a long but funny ride. I'm glad to see you make it through the whole thing, Ross. A continuation into Half-life 2 would be funny, but I can't expect you to want to do that.
I heard about the series yesterday, due all the buzz about the final episode. I watched the whole thing in less than 24 hours. This is hilarious, a fine piece of entertainment. Congratulations, man! :D hope to see other similar thing soon :D
PsychTek Wow, did you just actually call this guy playing a videogame an art? ayy LMAO!! yeah, lets plays are art! ROFL and pewdiepie is an artist too, LOTR!!!
Just want to say a massive thank you to Ross for this series. Started watching years ago and I've enjoyed every episode. Congrats on a job well done mate!
Thank you for making this series, I enjoyed it. Also, that was one of the best credits I've seen. You wouldn't believe how many times I've had to pause or jump back to read all the interesting comments and see all the credit scenes. That alternate ending was also dope as hell.
You know... looking back on this Series, we take this for granted maybe but Ross, you did fantastic work. I'm just glad you got this done before... well... before Valve fucked literally everything about this game up. I've gone back from time to time to Half-Life: Source and honestly, I wish I could go back to this version. The actual, playable, version. They screwed up in the HL2-HL1 merger thing they did ages back and now Source is literally so broken that this series is the only way to see Source in as close of a prime as it gets. Scripted scenes are bugged, the friggin' tentacle boss is harmless and static even when you toss nades, and the barnacle thing you fixed for the footage is a base game bug now. Barnacle tongues don't show up unless you get caught by one. Genuinely, I miss this game. Half-Life: Source was fun in my eyes but now it's unplayable in every sense now. So yeah, Thanks Ross, thanks for the memories and the preservation of what Half-Life once was in the process. - A random fan.
Shit I started watching this was I was fucking 12. Can't believe it's finally over, it didn't burn out either, like it just kept getting better and better unlike the other minds that cropped up when this got popular. I really really love that you did this, and here's hoping you continue with the sequel.
Hopefully, but at the same time, the man has been at this for 7 years now, he needs a break, I know if I worked on something for 7 years of my life, I would be pretty tired with it.
I just remembered this existed recently, binge watched through to the end... And I'm glad I did. This is an amazing series, and I can't wait to see what you do with the second one (if you get around to it)
I haven't seen the complete episodes in a row back then... Until now. And i say... Whoa, THAT was hell of a time-travelling. In a great way. Anyway thanks a ton for making this series, even it's kinda aged. Brings back memories, too.
Ross, Thank you, For the past 7 years Machinima began to decay, it felt as if none of the "directors" even knew what the word meant anymore. You still did, and a series I have followed since the very beginning has been fantastic with each and every episode, I thank you for the many hours of entertainment you have provided us. Although I am sad that this series has finally finished, whether or not you will decide to do Half-Life 2 is a decision I will respect, but regardless, I will continue to watch Game Dungeon and repeats of this classical series. Thank you Ross Scott for giving hope to Machinima as a whole and for the laughs, smirks, giggles and flat out comedic genius.
It's amazing how around a year ago, Ross asked for a little money from donations for a new computer part to make better quality videos then ends up with thousands which was most likely used for living expenses. I don't know about you guys, but I myself am willing to donate money for future Freeman's Mind episodes taking place in Half Life 2. If not that, then anything else Ross creates. Game Dungeon, Civil Protection, Freeman's Mind, it's all wonderful and I love watching his videos.
Oh man, what a blast from the past for me. I've started watching this when I was in Uni, but stopped halfway through since school took up too much of my energies and I didn't have the capacity to keep my online stuff in check, but now I basically binge watched the whole season in a week(I have a job now so I can't watch this non-stop) and NOW I'm off to season 2. Man I'm so glad I this went on and I actually found it! Keep up the great work. :D
It's been a hell of a ride. It's only taken a little over a year, but it felt so much longer waiting for more episodes of such a fantastic series. Hopefully you decide to continue this into Half-Life 2 someday.
Replying to my own comment after seeing the post-credits alternate ending... Really wasn't expecting you to make use of G-Invasion, especially not like that.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I had the luxury of watching all of these after they came out. Respect to everyone who had to wait for each new episode. And mad respect to Ross!
7 Years. 7 Fucking years of great commentary from the mind of a total hilariously lovable jackass, a hilariously lovable jackass that had no personality before you gave him one. That takes great talent and a great creativity. 7 Years of random but great stories in between events, and great editing. You've brought freeman's mind to a close and made it awesome! I'll always remember this series. Even if you don't continue on the series into HL2, the episodes, and HL3 when you're 80 years old, This series will always stand as one of the greats. A simple premise and idea, done extremely well and fleshed so far out it's inverted at the end of its run. Thanks Ross, It's been a long, strange, hell of a trip you took us on.
Just finished rewatching the series over the course of a a few months due to various things happening in my life right now. I want to thank you Ross and every person involved for bringing a truly epic web series that was just absolutely fantastic and a great ride watching it again! Can’t wait to finish watching Freeman’s Mind 2!!!
9:11 "You know, if you could send me to some luxury resort, I wouldn't wanna come back here!" Nihilanth, at that point, probably: "Fuck, I really wish I could send him to some luxury resort"
Man this series is actually amazing I wish I couldn’t known about it sooner. Watching this several years in the future and still enjoying it proves that this series ages like a fine wine. The Napoleon dynamite esque Gordan running around was very entertaining and enjoyable, and I will surely watch the second one.

But episode 0?
"As for the suit, I think you've earned it." That's why you drop Gordon in a train on its way to City 17 without the suit, right?
You actually didn't accept his offer. Then you won the battle but he didn't care and put you in stasis anyway then he took your suit as punishment for defying him.
..No? The canon ending is accepting his offer.
He did that so Gordon would hopefully call less attention to himself, as the CPs would be more likely to go after someone wearing an expensive, out of place armored hazard suit then someone wearing a normal citizen jumpsuit.
+*TheGamingBaconator* But Gordon ends up wearing the suit throughout most of the game anyway...
Sneaking Sniper But If he had gotten off the train wearing his hazard suit(which probably have scrapes and dents in it from his time at Black Mesa), he probably would've gotten imediently beaten by the CPs, or hauled off to Nova Prospekt. Technically, Black Mesa Source hasn't finished yet. They still haven't released the last part of the game (like Xen, primarily).

Meanwhile he's submerged in a bacta tank from Star Wars like Luke was in Empire.

My guess is, he'll wait until HL3 is released and the Half-Life hype takes over the world again

when this started, i was in preschool and just discovered the internet, now i am in middle school and have many accounts on many websites.
I feel with you, bro.
Don't worry, I'm sure they will do the same thing for half life 2 and it's episodes. And by the time that's finished HL3 will be out!
Thanks!
You know, when Freeman's Mind 2 comes out it will be like watching Peter Capaldi sneeze out David Tennant.

@@spookmeyer970nah
You could say it’s still going, but technically they didn’t continue the series in 2015, instead in 2017, so I would still count them as sufficiently spited.
@@spookmeyer970 There's no reason to count the sequel, it didn't start in 2015. So a hypothetical time traveller from 2015 would have no grounds to say that the series is still going.

He would've loved the hell out of the ending.
there's another marathon done... i can't believe it's been a year and a half since this ended

Ross,
Congratulations.
I say six years, because that's how long I'VE been watching.
So here we are at the end of this long voyage. Its been seven years since Freeman showed up late to work. Its kind of hard to believe that its all over now.
Needless to say, kudos to Ross for making such a superb series! I can't wait to see what he has to put out next now that Freeman's Mind is concluded.
7 years later, and it's still gold. Thank you again Ross
After my first time watching this, I can say that this is the greatest series on youtube I've ever seen

Reading some of the comments is so bizarre. You can tell from the way people are typing and the trends and references of how long this video has been up. Reading comments from like 2008-2011 was a real throwback to how shitty commentators were back in the day.

Cool. I'm excited to see what you have prepared. Oh and is civil protection dead?

The wall of "What is this game?" comments is big enough.
You know... looking back on this Series, we take this for granted maybe but Ross, you did fantastic work.
Might look into it, a link is cool too, but I won't force that. It's good to know for sure though.
So the moral of the story here is to play the PS2 port. Gotcha! 😁😁

7 years. It took 7 years to finish this. Some of us literally grew up with this. And it was bloody awesome.
I can only dream that one day you'll take us through Half Life 2. I'm going to cry. I need it.

But it's WHAT he says that matters. That's the whole point of comedy and commentary.
fuzzydude64 He said he would sometime next year in his monthly videochat
+Señor Criticon He doesn't say it while playing. He makes it up afterwards. It's a show, not a Let's Play.
+Señor Criticon Well then, you just have an issue with the premise of the show. Nothing wrong with that.
Psychotic Beverage i watched the first episodes about 5 years ago, it's been a hell of a ride. but, it's been way longer than over a year

I had the luxury of watching all of these after they came out.
