Overall, it's an excellent rendition of the Jimi Hendrix classic. Vaughn also played guitar on David Bowie's 'Let's Dance' album. His guitar solo in 'China Girl,' in particular, stands out.

It's always best to react to Stevie in a live performance.....try "Texas Flood" live at the El Mocambo! Another great performance is "Life Without You" at the Capital Theatre-1985. You won't regret it!

Not sure which I prefer, the live version or this studio version. Either way, SRV was a killer guitarist and does more than justice to this tune.
