This was so helpful, I appreciate you taking the time to record this. Earlier today I completed my registration but apparently it's gonna be processed within 30 business days so I'll have to be patient before I even add a single track. At least now I know how exactly I can do that. Thanks, WordPlay T. Jay. It was my pleasure to subscribe
Hmmmm, they may have moved it. Try looking at your list of songs and see if it lets you connect a recording. You don’t actually need to upload music, just connect it to a recording in the database.
inception is when it was created. perpetuity means forever. normally you wanna list when you made the song it and when you want royalties to stop being collected. i tend to write “forever” in a perpetuity part.
T Jay should I use all three or just one. Bulk sounds like the best for me. I remember doing one and because of not having the info at the time I quit. I did the second one.
Great information my brotha. I have a question on the Search and Claim option. When searching and you find a track and to the far right it says "Usage" and displays YES or NO. Does this refer to the item has been used and royalties are reported?
When I go under my catalog, there are no menus that yours show- I have cowritten dozens and dozens of songs with indie and label artist for over 15 years, none show up, why is this?
have any of those song been registered by others as owners or performers? catalogs usually represent the master recording owner or the artists. Songwriters are not normally catalogued. Even though the system will ask for that info
Hey, I have a question about UPC/EAN that needs to be filed out under Submit recordings - Release. As per google this is a number or code from a physical product or a group of recordings. Does this apply to when I'm trying to submit a specific song released only digitally ? Should I put in my previous album to claim on this part or does it has to match the specific song I wanna submit that I filled out for under recording entry and recording claim? thank you very much for your help.
If you’re releasing a new song it has its own UPC and this comes from the distributor. If the song was on an album before and you’re releasing it as a single it still will have a new UPC code. If you don’t have a distributor (bandcamp release or your website) you have to purchase UPCs from the UPC Organization.
You're a don brotha keep helping the culture thrive you're exceptionally good at that
thanks bro

Boss what does inception and perpetuity mean ? Like how do we fill that out ? Please help🙏🏿

@@wordplaytjay thank you bro 🙏🏿
Can you make a video for a beatmaker/ music producer who gets a placement with a major label and significant artist buying beats?
I can do some research and look into it
@@wordplaytjay Thanks T. Jay!
I’m just trying to cover all the bases. I have 20 of my songs logged in sound exchange and I want to make sure I’m getting 100% of my royalties
is that a question?
@@wordplaytjaynow I was just saying it in general. But Is the p line my label name? And inception and perpetuity mean what?

Don’t do bulk unless you have all your information straight
@WordPlay T. Jay Cool.. But I will check it out. Because I do have all my produced music.
Hoping this is helpful 🙏🏽

I believe that has to do with reported usage to Soundexchange

It wasn't free for me? I had to pay $100.
$100 to do what? Soundexchange doesn’t charge for membership
@@wordplaytjay I’m an idiot and confused SoundExchange with SongTrust. Sorry about that.
I think you might have confused songtrust with sound exchange if I’m not mistaken. Songtrust costs $100 to sign up but sound exchange is free
