Everyone keeps asking “why did she sell? I never would sell” . Well feel free to start your own multi-million dollar company . Feel free to turn down millions of dollars and retire in your 40’s. Her children and probably her future grandchildren are set for life . Yes, black ownership is very important for our community . So wouldn’t the better solution be to create more black owned businesses so we don’t have to whine and b*tch about one business deciding to sell out ? Oh , the greatest solution is to actually support YOUR local black-owned business as much as possible. Going out of your way to support US !
I think it boils down to true profit. I was told years ago if you want to know how much your business or jewelry is get it appraised. After you get it appraised double the amount your head and never sell it. I was told by a yt. man about how yt companies even undervalue with their own people, because they will turn around and make double the profit. So what you see millions, is actually an undervalued assessment when they could’ve had billions.
I don't have an issue with black-owned hair companies selling out to a big company. Get your coin! My issue is when the formula changes the quality of said product that it no longer attains the excellence that made it successful. Its a lose-lose situation. The product and your name gets tarnished, messing up your chance to market other products. Forget the ones who got you there and trust, they will forget your ass in return.
It’s not overrated it just doesn’t work for you. For her company to grow that large it’s working for someone. Not every product is going to work for everyone. Just because a product does not work for you doesn’t mean it’s overrated. Black people are truly there own worst enemy.
@@allen9584I said what I said. I really don’t give a damn that you didn’t like my response. You are the worst enemy because you can’t accept a different opinion without trying to tear someone down.
This was the best product for my hair. I have 3b hair. I walked away soon as i heard they sold it. I think i will go back and try again to see if the products still work the same for me.....right now im using Aphrogee and Organigrow.
I don’t care about Black women selling their companies. I’m not talking down on the Girls building honest generational wealth. May she continue to prosper & be able to spend time with her children ❤
I'm going back to the mainstream haircare products I use to use before these black owned ones came out. I supported several of them, the formulas changed causing hair loss then had to search for another product. My hair grew so much when I used mane choice. When I was using it something changed for the worst. No more black products for me.
Why are you painting with such a broad stroke? To say you won't buy any black-owned products is extreme. White companies sell and change formulas all the time. Heck, a change in formulation can come just because they want to cut costs. It's happening across all industries. I bet you'll soon find that the products you're going back to have changed also.
My hair did not like her products. I used them years ago as a loose natural. It took days for my hair to recover. I think it was the shampoo. I never used it again.
Now that I’m loc’d , I use very little tbh. I use ketaconazole shampoo and I use my own oils and rose water mist to moisturize. My hair in its loose natural state is about waist length, or longer since I’m now two years loc’d. I achieved that by creating my own leave in moisturizer.
For yall who feel like she’s a sell out (imma neutral on the business changes of companies more focused on how products work on my hair)…do yall use non-black and/or white owned brands for your haircare? The fall according to many who believe in supporting black owned businesses is when she sold the company but that opinion is according to your own personal beliefs🤎
I just don’t buy black products at all besides Kenya Moore hair care or TGIN. Both Miele and this brand were not that great, I’m big on smell, so I stopped upon first use. I use Ouidad and it’s expensive but worth it.
They sold and the ingredients changed I had to do a big chop back in 2020 because it tangled my hair so bad Anytime a bottle says new look beware.. The original formula worked, I know because I used it consistently. When she sold it I stop using it because I was scared the formula would change.
What do you use instead?
Love the shampoo and leave in conditioner
Happy to hear the product is still working for you🤎🤎🤎
Thumbs up - Good commentary
Thank you🤎🤎🤎
I don't have an issue with black-owned hair companies selling out to a big company. Get your coin! My issue is when the formula changes the quality of said product that it no longer attains the excellence that made it successful. Its a lose-lose situation. The product and your name gets tarnished, messing up your chance to market other products. Forget the ones who got you there and trust, they will forget your ass in return.
I agree I wouldn’t care as much if the formulas didn’t change🤎
Mane choice was one of the products I used when I really started doing wash and go’s
Do you still use it today?
My hair did not like her products. So overrated
It’s not overrated it just doesn’t work for you. For her company to grow that large it’s working for someone. Not every product is going to work for everyone. Just because a product does not work for you doesn’t mean it’s overrated. Black people are truly there own worst enemy.
@@allen9584 Yes, for me personally, the products are awesome!
@@allen9584it smells so good too!
What do you use instead?
@@allen9584I said what I said. I really don’t give a damn that you didn’t like my response. You are the worst enemy because you can’t accept a different opinion without trying to tear someone down.
This was the best product for my hair. I have 3b hair. I walked away soon as i heard they sold it. I think i will go back and try again to see if the products still work the same for me.....right now im using Aphrogee and Organigrow.
Are the other products working for you?
@@CoffeeCuties777 yes. I'm still learning Organigrow but I love the black seed oil mousse
I’ve never used their products before. I just always thought their packaging was really pretty and wanted to try it 😂
I like the packaging too…what do you use instead?
I don’t care about Black women selling their companies. I’m not talking down on the Girls building honest generational wealth. May she continue to prosper & be able to spend time with her children ❤
🤎🤎🤎🤎
I'm going back to the mainstream haircare products I use to use before these black owned ones came out. I supported several of them, the formulas changed causing hair loss then had to search for another product. My hair grew so much when I used mane choice. When I was using it something changed for the worst. No more black products for me.
Why are you painting with such a broad stroke? To say you won't buy any black-owned products is extreme. White companies sell and change formulas all the time. Heck, a change in formulation can come just because they want to cut costs. It's happening across all industries. I bet you'll soon find that the products you're going back to have changed also.
It’s so unfortunate that we have to go through this when using black owned products smh 🤦🏾♀️…what are the mainstream products that worked for you?
You shouldn't give up on black products. Mainstream products go through reformulation as well.
@@lachell257 I agree, I posted a similar comment. Reformulations are commonplace, so to take such a stand doesn't make sense.
She also has her own coffee brand with a coffee machine kinda like a keurig. 💕
Oh wow ! That’s cool🤎
lol at the description saying sheamoisture
Thanks lol 😂 I did a video on them too!
I remember her videos. I was a subscriber. My daughter hair length is like Courtney's.
My hair did not like her products. I used them years ago as a loose natural. It took days for my hair to recover. I think it was the shampoo. I never used it again.
What do you use instead?
Now that I’m loc’d , I use very little tbh. I use ketaconazole shampoo and I use my own oils and rose water mist to moisturize. My hair in its loose natural state is about waist length, or longer since I’m now two years loc’d. I achieved that by creating my own leave in moisturizer.
I don’t know Courtney but she did a smart thing. She carefully did her research about the integrity of company before she sold.
Unlike mielle………….
I returned my purchase. It made my hair extremely dry.
For yall who feel like she’s a sell out (imma neutral on the business changes of companies more focused on how products work on my hair)…do yall use non-black and/or white owned brands for your haircare?
I actually LOVE Marc Anthony products, their bond line is 20/10.
I don’t use manechoice much, i currently have one shampoo and conditioner in my stash i plan to get to…but most of her other products didn’t work for me except the clear gel and the edge control.
I currently use both black owned and non black owned but I’m leaning more towards diy products personally🤎
@@CoffeeCuties777 yea i use a bit of both, shea moisture shampoos and deep conditioners, Melanin haircare shampoo and DC…but dove, Pantene, Marc Anthony, and L’Oréal are staples too.
I was asking bc I’ve asked this question on a lot of videos on this topic and i find that many women who refuse to use sold black owned brands….still use white brands…. 🧐
I only support foundational black American founded and currently owned businesses I think it's important to Practice Group economics in that respect
💯🤎🤎🤎🤎
Courtney's husband is a physician also
I read that…and she was able to retire him once she gained success🤎
This is another product I never tried because of the price.
What do you use instead?
@CoffeeCuties777 I'm a drugstore brand shopper. I do use some black owned cosmetics like the lip bar, black radiance, and fashion fair. At least I think they're still black owned.
I liked the edge control and the hair glaze
Do you still use it?
@@CoffeeCuties777 yes ❤️
I love the main choice specially there I think it was green leaf clover edge control. It was so good now I’m not trying to, but I am gonna speak my truth. I like her better than kaleidoscope once I use kaleidoscope my falcon, the flake and like it’s Christmas.
lol 😂 and I’m happy to hear the product still works well for you 🤎
Nothing is wrong with mane choice
Glad to hear you’re still loving the products 🤎
Used one time and wasn't too impressed
What do you use instead?
@CoffeeCuties777 a castor oil with caffeine in it I only use once a week but really I don't oil my hair that much I get steam treatments every other week with my washes and oils make my hair heavy
How is that a rise in the fall? Doesn't seem like she fell to me at all or the company if it's still selling and still keeps the original ingredients in it. I don't get why you're saying it's a rise and a fall.🤔
The fall according to many who believe in supporting black owned businesses is when she sold the company but that opinion is according to your own personal beliefs🤎
@@CoffeeCuties777 ok
I just don’t buy black products at all besides Kenya Moore hair care or TGIN. Both Miele and this brand were not that great, I’m big on smell, so I stopped upon first use. I use Ouidad and it’s expensive but worth it.
I need to look more into Ouidad🤎
You NEVER see a white owned brand sell out to a black company 😏
That’s true 🤎
It’s definitely giving period scheme lol
That’s what I’m thinking as well🤎
This is wack I love these products 😮
How is it wack? I literally stated I still use the twisting gel🤎
@@CoffeeCuties777 not you sweetheart what anybody try to say about her products they r so awesome sorry for the misinterpretation ♥
Once they sell out, It's over lmao
I’m starting to feel that way as well🤎
This is why I don't support because they always sale it you can't stand on your own don't start a business
I agree🤎
They sold and the ingredients changed I had to do a big chop back in 2020 because it tangled my hair so bad Anytime a bottle says new look beware.. I called customer service and was told it may have the same ingredient list but the manufacturer can change the amount of an ingredient to cut cost so you may get a different result and it's legal 😢. Also they had a new hair care line out like every 3 weeks it seemed that's when I discovered Camille Rose hopefully she doesn't sell out.
Oh no! Sorry to hear that smh 🤦🏾♀️ and I hope she doesn’t sell as well🤎
Stop it. Mary Kay was not a pyramid scheme.. Yall say anything on the internet.🙄
Can you explain why you think it wasn’t? The people at the top were rich while everyone else was poor or barely getting by!
@CoffeeCuties777 Pyramid schemes are illegal in the US. Make sure you are using the right terms so you don't get in trouble down the line. Maybe you meant multi-level-marketing.
