    I also agree with you that opposites don’t really work out for long term relationships, and that the more similar you are the better. For instance I’m an INTP with a very high openness to experience, and hubby is an INTJ with high openness experience.

    Oh fantastic! I have been looking for you! That wise sage who might help me fix a guy who deserves fixing. Still hoping to be a great fixer-upper and not stuck with structural damage no one feels like taking on! Thanks for sharing your superpowers

    Nice explanation of the theory. Nonsense compatibility choices. How did you get these results? What is your basis? I disagree with everything you decide, except for Openness being good to be similar! I have amazing connection with opposites in all the rest!

    I can't imagine a neurotic person creating a dating profile searching for somebody who constantly worries and is easily upset so that they can find their neurotic soul mate....😀

    thank you for this. i never really understood how in OPS play is attracted to sleep and vice versa. blast and consume seem more compatible as 1 loves talking and the other loves listening. though only when it comes to having the same interests. if i blast about a subject my consume spouse has no interest in... its not gonna connect but even blast need to consume sometimes otherwise you run out of things to talk. but i never understood play sleep compatibility. im high on sleep and i greatly value my ability to sit with it sometimes and over a time of processing be able to reach a deeper truth or better plan. i cant do that if im dealing with a play firster who has a constant need to lets say have activity's together. but suffering from the classic IXXJ staying within the known it can be nice to have someone able to pull you into a new experience. which then gives more new things to process. i very much agree that personalities are most compatible if they arent too far apart. you need to have difference but simultaneously be similar enough that you can truely respect and understand the other person. these relationships are complementary.

    PART 2 on Big 5/ Ocean- Continuing from Openness. Again note these are not Good or Bad traits. There is good and bad. There's a positive and negative so starting off with political party alignment...on second thought, bitemytonguebitemytongue
    4:25 High Openness + Low conscientiousness= Tend to be more liberal
    Low Openness + High conscientiousness= Tend to be more conservative
    5:20 Trait Conscientiousness-
    1. Orderly
    2. Long Term Goal Oriented
    3. Delay Gratification
    4. Obey rules and authority
    Low conscientiousness:
    Disorderly
    Breaks Rules
    Unscheduled
    6:35 Conscientiousness Chart
    7:39 Extraversion- This is Extraversion and Introversion on How We Commonly Know it as. Not that same as Meyers and Briggs extraversion and introversion of how you take information from the world and make judgements. It's on a scale and most people fall in the middle of extraversion and introversion.
    Extraversion= Energy Outward and Projected
    Introversion= Energy Inward and Projected
    8:39 Extraversion Chart- This is most likely least important for romantic compatibility. Conscientiousness and Openness are more important, but still helpful to pay attention for energy levels
    9:59 Agreeableness= How People view and approach relationships with others
    High Agreeableness- Sensitive to the Feelings of others and May Put Needs of others before themselves
    Trusting
    Sympathetic to the Feelings of Others
    Polite
    Compassionate
    People Pleasing
    Perceived as Forgiving
    Perceived as Soft Hearted
    Can Struggle with Getting Taken Advantage of
    Low Agreeableness:
    Suspicious of others- Says you
    Less sympathetic of other people's feelings- There's over 7 billion people in the world and world ain't going to stop turning
    The world is harsh; get over it- Watch the Rocky Balboa (2006) movie speech. Kate didn't recommend this. Please watch the video for none of my added commentary....but you might remember it better with an emotional connection to something! It has 17 Million views so people dig it!
    More likely to get a promotion because they're not afraid to ask directly what they want- but maybe they are and it's just they're just brave
    11:35 Agreeableness Chart- It's better for a relationship to be closer unless they're on the further ends on the spectrum. Look for someone strong who will help you grow strong and help with your weakness and you can be strong for so you can help him or her grow stronger from his or her weakness. Iron Sharpens Iron.
    2:24 Neuroticism- Measures a Person's Propensity to Experience Negative Emotion
    High neuroticism:
    More likely to experience Anxiety, depression, be high strung, nervous...okay, we're done here people. Kate, it's been great. Take care everybody
    Might appear emotionally volatile to others when they might see themselves as just being passionate
    Sensitive to Negative events
    Could be HSP= Highly Sensitive Person
    Possibly More likely to Detect Threats in their environment
    Low Neuroticism=
    Chill, calm, not moody
    Possibly too chill to notice threats
    19:55 Compatibility Chart Time (Yes, you're going to need a military watch, and if I was an ESTP promoter this would be the perfect time to..heh time. ahaha...sorry.
    Two ends of the spectrum won't typically be helpful in this case because a very neurotic person won't get calmed down by a very low neurotic person, but an overly chill person could use the neurotic person
    15:03 There is a Big 5 Test on the Type Match site if you're interested. Check out the Description.
    15:48 Recap Learning about Yourself and Learning where Others are coming from
    This video was excellent, Kate.
    I don't got any beef with this. Makes sense.
    The reason why Meyers and Briggs was the only type system I liked is because Meyers and Briggs wasn't fatalistic and leaved room for God's grace, and this Big 5 sounds the same to me. And it makes me like the 16 Personality Test more if it's based on the Big 5. I actually liked the 16 Personality test because without it, I don't know if I'd ever have gotten into Meyers and Briggs, and I actually thought it was more healthy for people to just take the 16 personalities test and then just get a bunch of ideas of different types of people to be more understanding and get an ideas of things that we could use help with, if we want to. Everything is a free will choice. Life is hard. It's scary. It's full of suffering. And that's why, even though we may fall a lot, and I have fallen a lot, we can still strive, and help each other strive to do good, and the ideas from this Big 5 sounds useful in that department....need to process it more since I'm just writing my immediate thoughts to you.
    Watching your ESTP and ISTP Relationship video Similarities and Difference video was an excellent video to cut through nonsense in how I've heard Meyers and Briggs be utilized over the years, and it's a reason why the SP Spazz's channel was so helpful in helping me with be less skeptical of Meyers and Briggs because he showed long form authentic interviews with people that cut through a lot of nonsense. And I think a big issue is that it's because people aren't using actual Meyers and Briggs since there isn't a better type or anything if people read the official site. It even says that we change function order based on circumstance.
    I would highly recommend everyone even if you're not an ESTP or ISTP to check out Kate's ESTP and ISTP Relationship video.
    It's an authentic video of real people.
    I know on your type site, you have ESTPs as alpha, and I would disagree with that description for people I've seen since I'd say any type can be alpha, but you, Kate, are the one of the most alpha people I've seen in type.
    I heard in previous videos how you've experienced rougher stuff, but you don't show it. You are a light in this world. You're strong. You're kind. You're beautiful. You're smart. You're alpha.
    And other examples of alpha, Dear Kristin is living in Australia which sounds terrible. Did you see the thumbnail in her recent one year anniversary video? Look at that light in her eyes. She's alpha.
    And thank you for using that alpha description by the way.
    I think alpha is a strong, inspiring beacon of light with virtue. In my opinion, Jesus is the top model for alpha male and then a far distance second is Mother Mary as a model for being alpha, and then St. Joseph, and other saints.
    Most aren't that, yet, so we can use people like you to help us.
    Okay. I gotta go! Take care, Kate.

      haha well, thank you! I think it depends on your definition but you've explained it here. The type names I came up with were a little tongue in cheek to make it fun. However, my use of the word was intended more as someone who has a commanding presence- which Se hero absolutely does. ESTPs tend to have a dominant presence as well that can be felt. I created that list when I still thought I was an ENTP so I wasn't calling myself an "alpha" but I appreciate you thinking of me so highly :)

    • @JohnHenrysaysHi
      @JohnHenrysaysHi 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TypeMatch You're great. That's why I wanted to read through your descriptions to get your perceptions of the types. I don't remember what I write (bits of stuff sometimes), but I remember referring to you as alpha and I meant it. Also, part of being alpha is being humble, so it never crossed my mind that you were thinking that when you wrote your analysis. Now I'm going to re-read the ENTP description though.
      Also, after listening to your excellent interview with Frank James, I wanted to know if he was an INFJ, Frank James did a 31 minute episode on his podcast called "Identity and Illusion" from 2018, and that's currently my go to example for why he's an INFJ or just showing off Ni in an INFJ.
      He's got that whole thing where he goes on and on and on (heh) fleshing out his Ni idea where we're all taking off our shoes smacking them against our heads waiting for him to get on with it already hoping this thing, frankly, better pay off, FRANK, and then he finishes his Ni stream where he comes to his conclusion, and it's worth all the weird looks we get from all the dirt shoe marks on our faces.
      If you're ever interested, and it's probably not something you'd typically be interested in, being an alpha and all, there's a INTJ channel called the Fourth Age which the INTJ, RJ, guy down his whole Ni Te argument about virtue in comics referencing Aristotle, and same deal with Frank James where it's like "this better pay off, R.J". He's also illustrative of what you referred to in a previous video about inferior function being a superpower (his being Se), and I wrote to you about it previously but then deleted it because I wrote about disagreeing with him, and I felt bad because I didn't want to throw him under the bus because he's making a comic company creating virtuous stories for people. If you ever watched the MBTI NT support videos before they removed them, RJ is reminiscent of the INTJ on that channel describing his dream and the ENTP guy said Meyers and Briggs helped him understand his INTJ friend because his INTJ friend's description of his Ni vision was so out there for him.
      Anyways, your Frank James interview was superb. You are the reason why I'm checking out Frank James old content. I think It's Just Kevin is the cream of the crop if people want to learn about type through skits and then Dear Kristin's skits are king for just overall hilarious social perception observations, but Frank James is doing great work, and his non Meyers and Briggs content has been great so far. He's similar to how I was with the ENTP ZombieRuinEverything where I read and watched everything because he's a really smart, interesting guy (He did non Meyers and Briggs videos).
      Frank James did a great 39 minute episode of his podcast called Spiritual No Man's Land which goes into where he's coming from a foundation stand point if you're interested.
      Also, a combination of hearing ESFP Dear Kristin and INFJ Frank James humor is why I think you were right in typing Seinfeld as an INTJ. I think you were doing some kind of running gag joke haha with that but I appreciated the motivation to think about it.
      Also, after hearing you say in sync in one of your videos, I was trying to come up with something funny for you guys and thought of an old Nsync song "Makes Me Ill" when writing a joke and downloaded Nsync albums that night, and let me tell you, saying bye bye bye to those memories because they do NOT hold up. Except that "Makes Me Ill" song and I think the song "Celebrity"...maybe.....also, I listened to an old Frank James video today where he referenced the Goofy movie which I thought had a cool song and I looked it up, and, man...my taste was horrible, Kate.
      Thank you so much for your videos because it's been really fun having something to keep up with! I meant what I said and mean it now when I think of you as alpha, and actually started listing the people I think are alpha to show you that I meant it but probably talked your ear off enough.
      You're a STAND OUT person, Kate. Stand out is the name of the song from the Goofy movie Frank James referenced that didn't hold up...Take care, Kate!
      Gonna check out that ENTP description. haha

    People that score high on intuitive on the MBTI do tend to score high on the openness to experience, albeit it is not the same thing

    • @TypeMatch
      @TypeMatch  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, there is a tendency especially for high Ne to score high in openness but there are tests out there (like 16 personalities) that are just Big 5 tests that use MBTI letters and are responsible for so many mistypes

    • @sylviaowega3839
      @sylviaowega3839 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TypeMatch Your hypothesis that the 16 personalities is actually not really the MBTI, but actually the Big Five in disguise using the personality indicator’s letters. This is why I encourage people to take either the actual MBTI test, or take either the Sarkinova, or the Jung Typology Personality test of the don’t want to pay the fee.
      I’m a strong INTP that does score extremely high on the Ne, so naturally I’ll also score on openness to experience on the Big Five

    0:30 Big 5/OCEAN Personality Trait= Note that there are no good or bad traits. There's a positive and negative to everything (paraphrasing as Kate clarifies later in the video)
    1. O= Openness Measure a person's willingness to engage with new things and creative intellectual activities. Open to experiences/open mindedness
    2. C= Conscientiousness
    3. E= Extraversion
    4. A= Agreeableness
    5. N= Neuroticism
    1:28 Openness= Imaginative, Curious, Original Artistic
    Negatives: Don't follow through, not grounded, difficult with practical tasks
    MBTI intuition does NOT equal openness in Big 5/OCEAN.
    Low Openness TENDS (got your back, yo!) to be Traditional, Practical, Down to Earth, Focus on a Few Things
    Negatives= Troubles with Uncertainty and Change
    3:23 Openness Scores Compatibility
    Gotta go. Happy Friday. Cool Space Force shirt! And you're rocking these thumbnails! Stoked to finish the video.
    Also, I checked out Frank James Music and Meaning video. He's the youtuber type person I'm most confident is an INFJ. I liked Thinker of Everything and It's Just Kevin is my boi, but I listen to the people, and she might be an ISTP, and he might be an INTP like people are suggesting but that Frank James music and meaning video was a great video. The Beatles suck though. Elvis and Michael Jackson deserve their rating but Beatles...nah man NAH! I have high openness! I need high openness to take things apart. haha
    Jk. Take care everybody!

    OK, so I'm not good at the whole making a "desirable" first impression, enough to stand out(in a positive way), with zero game, looking the way I look, while somehow surfing a wave of awkwardness trying to be charming(well, my version anyway).. Knowing this. What would your thoughts or suggestions be as to an approach or whatever ideas you may have to help counter some of those typical infj crazy traits? Ty 🙏👽🤘

    Also, I think being female play a big role, since them hormones just do things.

    My guess!
    It where Objective Personality get it right and wrong.
    Jung = The Big Five (more or less)
    MBTI = Evolutionary Game Theory
    Ni/Fe = Altruism/Spiteful (or greedy)
    Ne/Fe = Altruism/Selfish (or Self-interest)
    Ne/Fi = Cooperate/Spiteful
    Ni/Fi = Cooperate/Selfish

    I think that "the idea that opposites attract is wrong because it would not be recommendable that people with very different personalities date", is false. The attraction of opposites and the potential compatibility between similar personalities are two different things. Attraction of opposites actually does happen and it is a real phenomena, yet it doesn't mean it is a good thing. When you hear "opposites attract" depending on how it is expressed a both the person talking and the person hearing might assign a positive or a negative connotation to the neutral (free of explicit qualitative value).

    • @Benjumanjo
      @Benjumanjo 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Opposites attract only works for flings and one night stands, because of the novelty. But once the novelty wears off, you will be at eachother's throats.
