Hey guys and welcome to todays video.. So watch to the end and let me know which sunscreen gives the best finish in your opinion.. Love you all so much x
I want good ingredients at a decent price. I don’t mind spending a little extra if I really think it’s effective and there isn’t a lower cost option. Like my beloved maysama roobios serum for my red light mask. It kills me to buy it but I can’t discount how much it changes my skin for the good when I use it. Game changer for my rosacea and psoriasis on my face.
I guess I am team luxury because I use mostly Allies of Skin. Their multi-tasking formulas allow me to streamline my routine to 3 products, super effective and nice packaging. I have discovered them thanks to you Rob! But! I am waiting to see MAS's new packages and try them out. Maybe this will make me switch to the more affordable skincare team
Drugstore baby!! I'm from Yorkshire so I'm a thrifty, tight fisted queen! Also I like to treat myself in other areas of life too so I need to spread the budget evenly! Also there are so many good drugstore products!
You are adorable. I appreciate your content and affordable options. I follow several dermatologists also. I am going to gift my daughter and myself with your recommendations. Retiring soon and need to stretch the budget! Thank you for your excellent and fun content.♥️
My answer is BOTH DRUGSTORE and BUDGET! I have used Medik8, Sunday Riley, samples of Skinceuticals C.E Ferulic, Dr Sam, Beauty Pie, Colourscience spf and cheaper brands - it all depends on my budget at the time - usually not high tbh. I sometimes feel a bit sad when I see things I'd love to try but they are too expensive so PLEASE keep listing affordable products bc good skincare should be available to all imo ❤
@@MadAboutSkin Thank you darling Rob - you are the BEST! ~I want to do the best for my skin but my budget is tight, so I truly appreciate being included in your beauty round-ups 👍🥰
I mix it up. Some of both. My problem is I don't do the same products everyday. Not good. I love watching you and trust you and your tips and products so much. ❤
Hey guys, I already use tret and azelaic acid together in my night routine and I wanted to add some boosters for texture and pigmentation. Is it too much to use paula's choice bha exfoliant, vitamin c and numbuzin vitamin concentrated serum all together for my morning routine? ( along with hydrating toners and moisturiser /sunscreen)
I avoid U.S. filters in facial sunscreen because I just think there are better options in 2024. So, very disappointed with AOS sunscreen ingredients. I will stick with Korean/Japanese/European sunscreen for the face. Right now using the Round Lab 1025 Dokdo sunscreen and it's good. I just received my order of MAS sunscreen and look forward to trying it. And eventually I plan to try the sunscreens from Jumiso and Numbuzin that you recommended.
Hi, I ´m wearing the mad about skin sunscreen and well, I love it: it’ s light, invisible, no smell and it’s cheap. Thanks a lot for the incredible offer ! XXX from south of France. Fabienne
Great vid, I’m definitely drugstore & for me the best skincare is the one I keep up with when life gets in the way, keeping it minimal so I can focus on using SPF, just had a delivery of about half the altruist range today which alongside an azelaic acid serum from Q&A should keep my skin happy but excited to see your refreshed products too especially anything serum related
Hello Rob! I just wanted to tell you that you played a big role in my skincare evolution! I learned so much from you, and when I want a new product, I always go to your videos to check if you spoke about it. I would be happy to try your own brand's products once you restock. Thank you for your work and for the inspiration you give! I hope when I'm your age, my skin will be as beautiful as yours. 🌹🌷🌻
I’m a mutt I suppose😊 I have 1 or 2 drugstore products, a lot of K-Beauty (@ drugstore prices) and a few luxuries from Allies of Skin/PSA. Currently waiting on some MAS products ordered approx 10 days ago that are sadly still awaiting shipment. I got lucky thx to Rob and on Mother’s Day weekend I saved 45% @ Allies of Skin😮😳👍 so I’ll finally get to try some products that I normally wouldn’t be able to afford! Thx Rob😘 I always have to laugh when you get cat hairs stuck to your face because the same happens to me almost every day😂
Drugstore to my core. I used to be luxury, but as soon as I found out that drugstore was just as, if not more effective, I became drugstore. Thank you for educating me with skincare over the years! xxxxx
I have both drugstore and mid-priced skincare products. All 3 of my cleansers, Cerave, Aveeno and Vanicream are all from the drugstore. Most of my actives are from Sunday Riley, except my prescription Tretinoin and my new favorite from your line, Azelaic Acid. Thank you so much, Rob, for talking about azelaic acid, it gave me so much understanding on how this acid works…..And your product is awesome! I bought 3 immediately..:)
Used to be luxury but now buy cheaper as prices have gone through the roof. Rob when is your rebranded stuff coming out, I am nearly out of my skin care Been a long time, months go by 😭 ❤
Hey Hun hope all is wonderful with you. finishing touches being put to the rebrand right now and then it will be launching.. I can't wait and it won't be long xx
American drugstore costs the same as some Sephora items these days, but it really comes down to what works. I find myself shopping K-beauty or independent online brands (Timeless, Geek & Gorgeous, NIOD, etc) with the occasional pickup in Sephora or Ulta (Dermalogica, Laneige, Drunk Elephant’s azaleic acid, Bubble, Peach&Lily, etc). Vitamin C? Not worth the pretty penny SkinCeuticals and the like ask for it. Copper peptides? I’ll splurge for the more interesting and elegant formula. Eye cream? Nah. Like you said, so many lovely K-beauty eye masks like K-secret and Pyukangyul! Or even the new Axis-Y eye serum is receiving great reviews! TLDR: I’ll pay good money for my actives/specialty care, but the base of my routine is K-beauty.
Is the Skinceuticals Vitamin C-Ferulic considered the most effective in Vitamin C serums? It is very pricey, but may give it a try if it is super effective. I’ve tried much cheaper versions over the years.
Both really. I'm loving SK11 and it does work for hyperpigmentation but I also love the Ordinary retinal. Must say I'm actually surprised about SK11 cos it seems to have something which works unlike the dupes.
I agree about SKII doing something special. Somehow, my pores disappear. A former SKII employee said that you can find it at Costco. I don't know how true that is.
I’m drugstore to my core but I do have a couple of guilty luxury splurges. I do like SK2 essence which I use in the morning and to make it last longer I use a dupe in the evening! My second spurge is Niod FECC. My 3rd is probably going to be Allies of Skin sunscreen….. I love sunscreen and I have several on the go, yours is always on the go and the one I reach for the most. I must say the Allies of skin one looked beautiful on your skin, however as I don’t like to use moisturiser in the daytime I wonder if it would be moisturising enough?
For me personally, that would be a splash of water (I only wash my face with cleanser in the evening) and an SPF 50 sunscreen (Mad About Skin) in the morning. I reapply sunscreen at least two more times during the day as I work in an office with lots of windows. In the evening, a gentle jelly cleanser (Mad About Skin or Geek & Gorgeous), retinal (I started with Geek & Gorgeous 5, worked up to their 10 and now use The Ordinary 0.2%, start low and build up) and moisturiser (find one that you like. I always go fragrance free) in the evening. I do use a lot of toners and antioxidant and peptide serums in addition to the basics but I am in the process of streamlining my skincare routine as I went a bit hog wild buying all the things for a while there lol. Hope this helps.
Hi Rob! Great video to encourage debate... I use both, it depends (Avène, LaRoche Posay, SVR, Uriage, Paula's Choice, Peter Thomas Roth, Medik8...) I think that often the luxury products price isn't justified, however there are some exceptions. On the other hand, people believe that drugstore sells only healty and safe things, but it isn't always true... Anyway, can I ask your opinion on Dr Sam's other products? Thanks so much! Have a nice weekend. Ciao! 😊
GREAT video! I buy both, but mostly mid- priced and luxury. I guess I need a bit extra as I am 60+. I like k- beauty and started to look at j- beauty as well. You're doing great job,Rob ❤
I think im a bit of both lol prefer to say im drugstore as i use mostly The Ordinary and Geek & Gorgeous ( and now i use your Mad About Skin peptide serum retinal oil and the sunscreen 😊 ) but i did splurge a few times on Medik8s Crystal Retinal 10 and that Allies of Skin Peptides & Antioxidants Firming Daily Treatment but lmao just ordered the SKIN1004 - Madagascar Centella Tone Brightening Capsule Ampoule - 100ml as a back up for when its gone ( cant afford that on a regular basis is crazy expensive 😅) was my bday and i had Robert code so i said feck it lmao ! 🎉❤
@@MadAboutSkin I use your sunscreen at the office as I sit next to windows but I just got the Allies of Skin water-resistant gel sunscreen for when I cycle and hike. Thank you for the discount code. I bought three and am going to give one to my 86-year-old Dad when I see him in Singapore later in the year!
I occasionally like to mix it up with my skincare, with some of the more expensive products amongst my more affordable ones if I think they may be worth spending my overtime money on. Recently, I purchased the Prequel Gleanser, which is honestly the best cleanser I have ever used. Although the item itself isn't all that expensive, especially for the amount of product you get... it was the shipping cost which pushed up the price. I also have the Prequel Redness reform soothing serum, which I am enjoying using for my Rosacea flare-ups.
I have been using Mad about skin copper peptide serum and the sunscreen and they are amazing!! I have very fussy skin with mild rosacea , plus it’s aging and is dehydrated . Your serum is so smooth and goes on beautifully and sinks in , doesn’t pill and doesn’t annoy my rosacea ! And the sunscreen is now my holy grail. My dehydrated skin loves it and again it sinks in so well . Looking forward to seeing the new mad about skin packaging ❤
I would like to have your advice on anti-aging skincare for those who are too sensitive to VC or retinol/retinal. I assume there are good alternatives.
love your content, is the SKIN1004 - Madagascar Centella Tone Brightening Capsule ampoule or numbuzin No.5+ Vitamin Concentrated Serum better for uneven skiintone?
Just ordered the M.A.S. Copper peptides and can’t wait to try it out - love that I know exactly what is in it and the high concentration (been using the Ordinary)! Also started using the M.A.S. spf and it is great!
As others have said, Im mostly drugstore with the occasional splurge. Recently I have seen lots of people on youtube touting the benefits of Castor Oil as skincare. Do you have any thoughts on this Rob? Would love to hear what you think of this. Take care and enjoy the week x
Thank you so much Hun.. caster oil breaks me out so badly I haven't really been able to use it but the data and studies into it are really promising for anti ageing.. sending lovexx
Previously luxury only but your channel opened my mind to more affordable options that give the same results. I am now both luxury and drugstore but my love for Korean skincare is growing fast. Ps loving your copper peptides ❤
Drugstore to my core 😂 Love this style of video! You get dupes/alternatives and your preference all in one 😊 Also loved that you featured some of your MAS products. Hope to get more MAS content when the relaunch is happening ❤ (fun side not: I always pronounce MAS not as M.A.S. but as one word, like más in Spanish 😂)
haha with the new branding it will be M.A.S lol so you read my mind :) and dont worry there will be some more content on the rebrand coming asap and I cant wait to share it with you xxxxxx
I use what works for me and what I enjoy using ! For instance I’ve gone through 4 bottles of the Dr.Barbara Sturm calming serum but I also use Palmers Anti Dark Spot Fade cream at night (which is less than 10$). I like effective products which K-Beauty has plenty of and even American brands. But I reach for luxury as well bc I find they are effective while also having a superior finish or elegant formula, making the product much more enjoyable to use. And more flattering! I have sensitive reactive oily skin and sometimes the finish on lower end products are overly dewy, sticky , or maybe even cause some redness. I like whatever works and feels good !
I looked at the Transparent Lab Sunscreen, but can't see what they are using as filters, although I'm sure it may be better than anything the U.S. is putting out there.
@@MadAboutSkin Thanks, yes i looked at incidecoder but didn't recognize any obvious sunscreen filters, but I'm only knowledgeable about the main ones.
Whatever works and depending on my finances at the time. But i have seen results from drugstore more tan high end products.Love from Athens Greece Stella almost 53 an actress and ceramist
I live in both worlds! Some of my favorites come from the drug store, while some others are my splurges that I can’t live without. But I do probably learn more towards the drugstore.
I think any sunscreen is fine but I think chemical is better as less likely to break out.. the beauty of Josen is a good one but the Skin1004 is my favourite x
I love the urea cleanser from transparent lab! But unfortunately I found their sunscreen terribly pilling 😢... I will just use it on my body Looking forward to your relaunch! ❤

Previously luxury only but your channel opened my mind to more affordable options that give the same results. I am now both luxury and drugstore but my love for Korean skincare is growing fast. Ps loving your copper peptides ❤
Awww thank you so so much hun and I am so glad the copper peptides are working so well for you :) sending you lots of love x
I’m a bougie biash 😂❤
So long as it’s scientifically formulated and tested and has no fragrance…
Haha and there is nothing wrong with that lol.. love x
The Ordinary, Face Facts, Primark PS. Amazing!!
Such great brands.. Team drugstore for the win 😁 xx

Happy weekend Hun xx
Drugstore. My pockets aren’t deep enough for luxury products.
Thank you so much for watching and sharing your thoughts x
Blend 😊
Same with me x
Is the niche beauty lab and the allies of skin sunscreens mineral? Would love a video on the niche beauty lab brand!
No both are chemical Sunscreens.. love x
I would like to be team luxury, but for drugstore pricing 😂
Haha that would be the dream xx
Prequel vit c is great too ,think its dr Sam Ellis 😀
I need to try her products as I have heard so many amazing things.. love x
Luxury with clinical results for me.
Thank you so much for watching and sharing your thoughts x
Drugstore to my core 😂 Love this style of video! You get dupes/alternatives and your preference all in one 😊 Also loved that you featured some of your MAS products. Hope to get more MAS content when the relaunch is happening ❤ (fun side not: I always pronounce MAS not as M.A.S. but as one word, like más in Spanish 😂)
haha with the new branding it will be M.A.S lol so you read my mind :) and dont worry there will be some more content on the rebrand coming asap and I cant wait to share it with you xxxxxx
@@MadAboutSkin Oh yes the new logo looked really good when you showed the bottles in the livestream 😊 looking forward to the MAS content!
Im half and half 🌗 If I had to choose, it would be drugstore.
I am the same, drugstore with the odd splurge lol x
Drugstore!❤
Love a good affordable product.. thanks for watching xx
LOVE that urea cleanser so much ♥️
same here hun xx
If you pop the ingredients into a site called inci decoder it will explain all the ingredients for you :) love x
Luxury it’s just better period
Thank you so much for watching and sharing your thoughts.. x
What about sunscreen for teenagers, which one is better, mineral or chemical, is BOJ good for 15 year old girl?
I think any sunscreen is fine but I think chemical is better as less likely to break out.. the beauty of Josen is a good one but the Skin1004 is my favourite x
Thanks a lot 🎉
I am actually considering two different 1004 sunscreens.
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Love xx
Ugh that glove
Love
I love the urea cleanser from transparent lab! But unfortunately I found their sunscreen terribly pilling 😢... I will just use it on my body
Looking forward to your relaunch! ❤
Oh that's such a shame but thanks for sharing.. your right the cleanser is so smoothing on the skin xxx
