I just started using the ordinay's mandelic acid about a month ago and my skin has never looked better. I have sensitive skin and rosacea and my skin cannot tolerate most acids, especially glycolic acid. Mandelic acid has been so amazing to provide gentle exfoliation without causing irritation. This video came at such a great time
@@ugneugne5570I know you don’t talk to me but I have sensive and dry skin too. I tried mandelic acid (the ordinary) since September 2023 (~5month) once a week. And yes, it is really effective. It fade period acne/hyperpigmentation acne or stress acne very well. Make skin look more even. I love it.
Cass, I have noticed (not just in this video) that while making lists or comparisons of the same/similar skincare products from different companies, you DO mention the price. However, you DON'T say the volume (all the time, along with the price). THE INKEY LIST Mandelic Acid Treatment at $12 for 15ml!!! might not look that attractive in comparison with The Ordinary Mandelic Acid 10% + HA with the same price but for 30ml. Just a pinch of objectivity:) Thank you for doing what you do!
@@yogarcia6066 yes! To make it further complicated, I have used Inky List and you can get by with a very small amount (rice sized), but is that adequate?
This is literally one of the best TH-cam channels to exist. You have literally changed my life - and many others by the comments that I’ve read too. You deserve an award for empowering both young and old / men and women to make smart skin care choices and provide us with great options that actually work. You truly care, and I appreciate the transparency on everything -the prices, the brands, the science, the personal journey… truly honest opinions that isn’t motivated by money. In my humble opinion, you are one of the best TH-camrs out there… definitely one of the most needed.Thank you!
My favorite mandelic acid product is from Stratia, it's their Soft Touch serum for $16. It is by far the gentlest skin exfoliator I have used. I have repurchased this one over and over again.
If hyram's mandelic is in there, be minimalist tranexamic and mandelic serum definitely deserves to be in there. It has 3% mandelic acid, 3% tranexamic acid plus Acetyl Glucosamine, Hydroxyphenoxy Propionic Acid, a little bit of Salicylic acid and Turmeric root extract For people of color who need something for hyperpigmentation, this is a must try
I have hormonal acne prone skin and have been thinking of starting mandelic acid and this video was very informative! Thank you! I will definitely try your recommendations
Thank you for another great video! 💕 I’d only ever tried the ordinarys glycolic acid before and it just didn’t work for my sensitive skin and I thought AHA’s just weren’t for me 😢 Until I recently started using the Wishtrend mandelic acid and it’s been amazing!! It’s really helped with my stubborn whiteheads and been amazing for my skin texture and tone. I got the small travel size bottle to start out with and it’s lasted me a pretty long time so it works well with my budget too.
Mandelic acid sounds like a great happy medium exfoliant. Would you please consider reviewing the mandelic toner from Geek & Gorgeous? Always been curious. Thank u 💜
Please review the Naturium Mandelic Topical Acid 12%! Also is it possible that Mandelic Acid at this high of a percentage can boost collagen production? The box claimed that it did but I was skeptical because I had never heard of this before. Thank you and I hope your doing well! Love you 😘
Thank you, is an understatement... The way & depth of your assessment & info. sharing is simply brilliant. I not only learnt from you, I can now decide the better Mandelic Acid Cleanser & leave-on, best for my skin type. I'm pleased you spoke on darker pigmented sistas. Cheers girl! 🎉
Mandelic Acid is SO good on my dry+sensitive skin. i cannot use any other AHA or BHA because they break me out. MA is the only one that i can use that chemically exfoliates me skin so nicely and causes no breakouts! i use the Face Theory's MA, its similar to The Ordinary's but better imo. its definitely an underrated ingredient
I use the Ordinary Mandelic Acid for the Keratosis Pilaris on my legs. It has worked very well, although the KP is not completely gone. Have been using it for about a year.
I love the Wishtrend mandelic acid because I can just use it as a toner and I haven't used up the serum stage of my skincare for exfoliation. And it lasts for ages!
@@bettyausten9533 Anything you want! Haha. I don't think that would make your skin cranky, but if it does just use them on separate days. You only need to use the exfoliant two or maybe three times a week
@@bettyausten9533 I usually just use a hydrating toner or serum after, and a azelaic acid serum. Sometimes even a retinol. But ofc only if u know your skin can handel that
I've been trying to get the ordinary mandelic acid for forever but I literally can't find it anywhere in my location. I did buy the naturium 12% one hopefully it works well. Thanks for the video.
I have a sensitive combo skin which is really difficult to find a AHA that doesn't burn up my face, By Wishtrend Mandelic Acid 5% prep water is a must for me. Highly Recommended.
Neostrata’s clarifying cleanser has mandelic acid, salicylic acid, and tea tree oil. It is amazing!!!! My skin is too sensitive for harsh exfoliation and I need something daily. I’ve been using it for years and stock up on Black Friday sale. Cassandra, I would love to see you do a review!!! There is a place for wash off products. They simplify routines and help sensitive skin folks have a little more control when building up to exfoliating ingredients 😊
Hello, Cassandra! Hope all is well with you! Can you please try the Mandelic Acid by Paula’s choice? It’s now in Canada… 6% Mandelic Acid it’s 2% Lactic acid…… A well as 7%PHA Mandelic acid Glycolic Acid blend by Cokokind Tumeric illumination Solution. It is available in Canada in Toronto in a store called SDM ( Shoppers Drugmart). But I know it is also available in The States too! It was recommended by some American Dermatologists; although I’d like your opinion too! Especially since you did offer😊 Please and merci bien!
HI, Cass, can I use tretinoin and mandolin acid together? If I use tret. At night and mand. In the morning? I get so confused with the actives on what I should and shouldn't use. BTW, I am a 60yo, fair skinned woman with dry skin who spent several decades in the sun. So now I'm dealing with dark spots. Thankyou 😉
My fav is when it’s paired with salicylic acid; but I can’t find a formula without preservatives that irritate my skin. Had to settle for a mix with glycolic/lactic acid.
I swear by the ordinary mandelic acid. I pair it with thermal water to help absorb the ha and then a cream with vit. A, e and alantoine. My skin's never been better
The issue with that is you’re supposed to apply exfoliating acids to dry skin because they can be irritating . However, if it doesn’t irritate your skin then I’m glad it works for you. :)
Hi Cass, if I use at night Tretinoin 0,025% Derm prescribed, it’s beneficial to use the wishtrend mandelic acid toner at day? Or it’s enough with tretinoin? I tolerate very well tretinoin without peeling or dryness. Many thanks. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🌈🌈
I use face reality am and pm and it’s too expensive on top of the other products I use daily… I’m thinking to try the inkey list one as a replacement. I’ve tried to slowly stop using it overall but then my skin started purging and i couldn’t stand it so I started back with face reality again but man committing to the price has become insane. So I I hope inkeylist works.
"Acids are weird" - truer words have not been said. Mandelic acid dries and irritates my skin at 5% already, even when used once a week. In the meantime, I could use a 12% glycolic acid toner (glycolic is much stronger than mandelic) every day (I don't, cause that too much) and my skin would be just fine. Go figure :D
I bought the whishtrend Mandelic acid, I use it the nights I do not use retinol. I have a question what can I use on top as mosterizer at night? What can I use on top? Thanks ❤

I’m curious re: Snoxiin. I have very little desire to use something that is primarily meant to provide immediate, temporary results. I’m in this for the long haul. I’ve been using argereline for quite some time and do feel like I see results. I’m wondering if Snoxiin is primarily for immediate/temporary results or if it also provides longer term results.

Hi, for winter use retinol, AHA's (only during the winter and only at night time). For day time Vit C serums or other antioxidant serums + spf50. For the summer use Vitamin C, Alpha Arbutin, Niacinamide etc based serums day or night (I prefer night) along with waterproof spf50 all day and when you go out always wear a big hat and generally avoid the sun as much as possible. So far I've only tried the summer routine and it has already faded and dispersed my melasma so much that other people can't notice it.
