It might be a fairy tale for you, but it's factually true. Even Porsche's head of R&D confirmed this in October. He said they will try to sell both 718 and 983 at the same time, but it depends on the market. Yes, in the US, people will get to buy the 718 for a couple more years, but in Europe, unfortunately, they will end production much sooner. And to answer your question, yes, I know all about the 983 and they are both going to be full electric, Boxster & Cayman.
Here's one of the magazines that covered that event, where the statement was made: www.roadandtrack.com/news/a45455707/porsche-gas-electric-718-overlap/
I'll stick to what the Porsche R&D director said and the people I know and spoke to at Porsche directly. Whatever they are running, it's not a petrol 983.
it is completely true. Confirmed by Porsche themselves. The 718 is the last ICE Cayman / Boxster. The only thing is that Porsche will sell both 718 and 983 together, in the markets where this is still possible. But this is the last ICE generation
Love that color, and the white graphics and wheels just makes it pop.

Yes... that's how I felt driving these cars.
You feel like you're part of the car. Great driving experience.
great video!
718s are Incredible vehicles. BTW do you still own yours or did you sell it.
I never owned a Porsche. But hopefully that's going to change soon
I doubt it it’s the last ICE Boxer. Maybe pure ICE but I see them doing a 918 set up hybrid.
It is the last. The 911 is going hybrid, while the macan and boxster are going electric
@@TunedIntoCars I read electric and ice will run parallel for a while
@@ralfulrich6254 the will run side by side for sure. The 911 ICE is not going away.
Good video. Cayman S vs M2C 🤔 6 cyl vs 4.
nice car. enjoy!
Aren't the headlamps LED instead of Xenon?! Cheers from Italy
Yeah, the test car has LED. What I was trying to say is that the style edition comes as standard right xenons
it is a fairy tale 983 Cayman only comes as EV. Have you ever seen a Cay 983 prototype? Onlly Boxsters..
😊..with greetings from Weissach

Porsche says that EV and ICE will be sold together for a while.
Porsche as a brand yes, they will continue to sell both ICE and EV. But the ICE Caymans & Boxsters are going away.
