The $169,000 MSRP is outrageous for a tiny Class C motor home with a cheap jackknife sofa and a horrible entry level bathroom with a cheap plastic toilet, a cheap shower curtain that will drip water all over your floor and a cheap Dollar Store 4” fart fan😩
Unfortunately the whole RV industry is going to have to crash and burn before they realize their customers are sick and tired of being ripped off with super overpriced garbage build quality. No thank you.
Keep in mind any rv sold at an rv show....pays the line workers price meal by time, so the more they rush and ruin your unit, the bigger their paycheck.....its prehistoric.
We absolutely love ours. Our first trip was a 6,000 mile run across the US to visit family and hit the major parks. We're retired and never used the slideout because we used a couple of foldup tv tables to eat on since we were always on the go. That allowed us to park and camp anywhere, the couch is comfortable compared to others we tried and is good for young grandkids or pets to spend the night on. We're average size adults and the bathroom woked fine for us, the double door on the bath can lock open which doubles its size. The shower is small but doable and the curtain works fine. However we used campground showers when available to save on water usage. The best part about the design is the double beds which can always be made up, stop, nap, spend the night anywhere, without dealing with a slideout! The RV is a powerhouse, drives like a van, and powers up and down mountain passes with ease. This RV has everything we need and was a lot less expensive than other brands with the same layout.
@@whipsplash6943 i totally agree with you. A lot of persons don’t know anything about rv. I made a lot of research and the compass 24kb has the best layout and allows electrical extensions with a good cargo capacity, and well design living space.
@@CC-gt3ro Mine is the Gemini which is the same unit with different name so dealerships that are close to each other can sell the same design without technically being in competition trying to sell the same unit. Or so I was told.
my 3 likes: #1 soft closing drawers #2 sofa with table directly across from the TV #3 twin beds combo with the outside storage my 3 dislikes: #1 the bathroom #2 water connections on the outside #3 the microwave placement
I think the Floorplan is practical. Exterior is sharp. Storage seems adequate. Wish for larger fuel capacity for @9mpg. Better shower curtain for sure. More freezer space in fridge. Nice price point for this model. Nice review guys.
Great job as always, Matt & Andrea! We appreciate all the comments and we will use them for potential future product changes. Thanks to all who watched and left a message! As always, please feel free to reach out if you have any questions. Happy camping, Brandon @ TMC.
Any flat earther that thinks Biden is at fault for inheriting 700,000 Americans perishing during the only 15 have covid try drinking bleach let me fleece the country and put it in my Chinese bank must be from the Mississippi public education program
Yes. I looked at a few Entegra Qwests some years back (better than this thing in the video). You could find them for around $110,000 then. They are built on the Mercedes chassis (more expensive than the Transit) I just thought the build quality on RVs in general was cheap. Like putting makeup on a pig. There are a few good builders though. LTV being one of them (though overpriced too). This thing in the video looks pretty entry level. 90k at most. 40k (overpriced by Ford too) for chassis and the rest for the junk they built behind it.
Likes: twin beds, 12v fridge, pop-up counter mostly flush with the rest of the counter. Dislikes: the entire bathroom (a little reshuffling could have given us a split bath) that tiny jackknife sofa, and ugly open storage above the cab.
Likes: 1. Skylight. 2. Kitchen cabinetry and its colors. 3. Mirror over the pantry/wardrobe door. Mirror in the living room. Light and mirrors make it beighter and appear more spacious. Dislikes: 1. Pricing. 2. Bathroom layout. Toilet paper holder low. Cabinets too small for real products. Not a fan of the shower curtain that doesnt look like it prevents water from getting all over the bathroom. Id rather have a wetbath. 3. The overhead caninetry should match the kitchen them. Euro shiny two tone overhead doors do not look as current as the kitchen.
Hi Matt and Andrea! My dislike are the hookups outside should be inclosed and the shower curtain. I think it cute and much better that wet bath. My likes are the floor plan, the bedroom and storage. I think this Gemini is cute. I love it. Thank you Matt and Andrea! .
Thor just got lazy and greedy with this van. Agree with Matt, that bathroom is the worst! No Theater seats? The storage sucks! The seats look super cheap, and the price? Are they high???? You have never had a review with something so awful! That said I do watch them all and love you guys! Andrea the bangs are bangin! ❤. Happy Mothers day!!!
I’d get rid of the little sink/cabinet in the bathroom and make the shower better/bigger with a little more room for the toilet….make the toilet porcelain Thor!!!!
Best description of the bathroom ever hear - horrendous. I stood in the 27 by 27 shower. My shoulders are 22" and it was like standing in a tube. Don't even think about bending over to was knees or feet! The only good thing I can think of in addition to the engine, is that built on the 176" wheelbase where virtually every competitor, except one, and the other floorplans of the Gemini are built on the 158" wheelbase. The other floorplans are not much better with extensive use of low end materials. Of course the one with premium materials and multiple floorplan choice on the 176" wheelbase does exist...but there is a three year wait. The other manufacturers should see that wait as an opportunity to offer a premium model. As it stands, it is pushing me to Mercedes for the better build choices.
I agree with you Matt. I am not a fan of Class B Vans. The smallest I would consider would be a Winnebago Ekko or this Thor. However, I would try to live in mine with my cat.
Nice rig but 8.9 MPG for a smaller B+. Aren't there big rigs that get that mileage? Gas here in California is around $5 per gallon now. My Travato get 16-17 MPG.
I'd like to make a request about the filming y'all do. Please when he/or whoever lays on the bed, show all the way to their feet so everyone can see how much room there is. Other TH-camrs will measure or actually show how much bed space you'll have.
If anyone has an RV that needs a custom mattress built (Brooklyn Bedding can't do that), Tampa Mattress Makers made us a corner bed radius mattress to fit our Class C. Highly recommend! That trekker cap is fairly useless. I don't need a bunk, but a little more space for storage up there would be nice. That might be one of the worst bathrooms I've ever seen.
This has a better kitchen than the Ekko but overall the Ekko is my favorite B+. I wonder why every B+ doesn’t have an Ekko-style bathroom. Nobody has ever answered that question in any video.
Not a big fan of the bathroom but it works if you're not a real big size person. It's not something you would want to live in full time unless you are by yourself. And I am not a real big fan of the bedroom set-up don't look like you have much space to put clothing ect. The storage outside gives you more room than inside. I don't like the way the hook ups are either. But you get what you pay for I guess. I haven't watched you in a while so I want to say Hi to you both and happy reviews this year. I love it when Andrea is with you she is so honest about everything so are you Matt but from a women's view she's great and very honest. Take care and stay safe.😂
1577 lbs i think and you can ask a rv thir parties installer to remove the generator to install a full victron 660ah or 990ah with 1000w onyx rich solar panel with dc-dc Orion 700w alternator charger.
The average man is 6' tall. Some are taller. Its rare to find a camper to accommodate tall people. Beds and showers especially. Manufacturers need to know, it's not just short people who like camping.
Thank you for your comments. The interior height is 6' 8". As you noted, there are some areas where that height is lower, but overall, it's able to accommodate that 6' tall man. Thanks, Brandon @ TMC.
Your dislikes of the Gemini are easy fix except the outside hookups. I like, it but I agree with you Matt about the hookups. Hope there's one that's locked not exposed. Good video 👍
I just am astonished the prices of RV's anymore. I owned many RV's in the day and the most we paid was $6K. They were older models but they had all of the conveniences.
I absolutely love the rear twin beds and the rest of the floor plan. I disagree with you, Matt, I'm okay with a wet bath. As a matter of fact, I prefer it. I wish somebody would make a travle traiter similar to this floor plan with no slide. kitchen, wet bath, rear twin beds, flip down table where the couch is and put a couch with table at the front. im just a custom girl in a cookie cutter world.
pre-covid, we bought a really nice Grand Design Solitude 5th wheel at a FL RV show in Feb 2018. We ordered one with light leather at the super good RV sale deal we got. The RV was delivered in May and was a 2019 model. Short answer is the new model year rigs start being shipped to dealers around May.
Good morning! Thanks for watching and supporting Matt and his team. Our model year change over happens in the middle of May. There have been some 2025 model year prototypes built. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks, Brandon @ TMC.
I would use something like this for a daily driver. The only problem with these B+ vans is the traditional RV paint job. My HOA will not let me park it in my driveway or the front of my home because it is an RV. I asked if it were a solid color if it would make a difference. They said they would consider it the same as parking a company work vehicle if it were a solid color, making it acceptable. This is my long winded way of saying, any chance of getting this without the “RV” paint?
My 2002 30' Georgie Boy Landau on the 8.1l Workhorse chassis gets about that driving normally. I have a lead foot. It was only doing 2000 RPM on level ground at 70 MPH. It felt like it was coasting, or going downhill.
He just read what the current MPG said on the dash, who knows the trip it took to accomplish that but my guess is starting idling and moving it from one spot to the filming spot. HWY is probably much better
@@ImpalamansGarage no it is 13/14 mpg , and around 10 mpg if you tow a vehicle. The mpg shown is due to let the engine running at idle. With ford they consider you do 0 km and use max gas, so you have like the maximum of 30 L /100km but in real after driving city/highway you will get 13.5 mpg. To avoid that you can use the engine start/stop feature, and it will stop reducing the mpg, at idle.
Manufacturers will continue to see prices being criticized. The pandemic really messed with the RV industry's concept of pricing. Why the price hikes? 🤷🏼♂️ because they (manufacturers) said so.
Because the dealers said so , if Ford factories sold Fords directly to the public then it'll be competition to franchised ford dealers. Dealers are basically middleman between manufacturers & the public. And dealers are kind of redundant because the manufacturer don't allow too much profit margin lol that's why prices are so high because dealers markup anywhere between 10-35% and sometimes 50% smh the markup includes staffing salaries, commissions, bills , rent , advertising and so on...
What are they thinking on these prices! You can buy a van & build it out better yourself for less than $10,000.00. They must charge over $300.00 per labor hour on their RVs & triple the material cost.
As a former Traeger+ user, switching to Asmoke was a game changer. The ability to control the temperature with precision has made my grilling experiences much more enjoyable and the food tastes superb. The variety of wood pellets available offers a unique flavor for every meal. Plus, the portability of the Asmoke Essential is just incredible - it's so compact and lightweight, making it my go-to grill for camping. What really sets it apart, in my opinion, is the ability to use it wirelessly. I can grill for up to 10 hours without worrying about finding a power source. The environmental consideration of using recycled wood materials has also been a major selling point for me. I totally agree with you, van life can be rough, but with Asmoke, it’s definitely better! #Asmoke
I love the In-law-suite underneath, in the back, carpeted, lit, and everything! 🎉😊 Good layout design. Outside the box, my mom told me I always thought outside the box, I would tell her, when saying that, "Box, there's a box, oh great, now I have a box to worry about..."😜😂✌️💝🇺🇸
Good afternoon! There are 4 seat belts in the coach. You'll find this on the Specifications and also the floor plan renderings on our site. Thanks, Brandon @ TMC.
Matt I love your reviews and have watched many of them. One thing I would like you to address (and other reviewers as well) is the location of the fresh water tank and fresh water plumbing lines. We are in the northeast and sometimes experience freezing temperatures. Many RV's have fresh water tanks that are outside of the heated living space (underneath) and are a problem in cold weather. No one seems to address this in their reviews so the only way for me to know is to actually look under the RV. Thanks.
Wonder if there is a version without a slide and an actual bunk over cab? Seems like they could have had a bed there with minimal effort. And you're right... horrible bathroom plan, but the other floor plan seems pretty solid.
I bet that slide out leaks 13 months into it (1 month after warranty ends) So glad I’ve gotten out of this headache RV maintenance ownership nightmare. Live and learn
Why does it have such a small gas tank? If you’re getting 8mpg without pulling anything imagine if you pull a small trailer for a SxS. I would bet you would only get 5 or 6 mpg then. That means you would have to stop every 100+ miles to fill up. That is borderline useless
I don’t like the shower curtain area and the TP holder is too close the toilet. 1burner stove would be enough with the better microwave convection unit and would give more counter space. Take the couch out and put in a theater seating with attached swing tables. This is a couples rv. All the storage is great. Inside and out. The MPG sucks. Definitely needs a bigger gas tank.
This just keeps making me more angry! 165k AND a plastic toilet! There is no counter space hence no reason they could not have put a decent size kitchen sink. There is just not one good thing about this. They not only doubled the price in 3 years, they put the cheapest crap they could in there.
I like the floor plan. I sure wish that I would have known what I know before buying my thor Sequence 20A and bought this instead. I will upgrade in about 1 year, to what exactly I don't know yet but this floor plan is awesome!
I guess if you JUST want it for vacations and don't need to do any work. I actually kinda like the bathroom, but no dedicated workspace or table prep space is a problem in that RV
Did I miss you all talking about the stove? You said to leave the cover up and you would get back to it. And , wow!!! MSRP $169,000 and that is a cheaper price point!!!
I can see that there are a lot of persons here that know nothing about rv. The 24kb is the best rear twin bed in the market : - chassis ford AWD turbo - full rear pass through that allow installing full victron 990ah system. However the 24kb as a contrary of the Leisure Travel Zvan which has only class 1 hitch 2500 hitch rating lbs /250 tongue lbs hitch rating, the 24kb has 5000 lbs/500 tongue lbs rating trailer capabilities. - big flat roof that allows installing 1000w (4x 250 onyx rich panel) - good quality door and door mechanisms. - comfy sofa jacknife with table that can be extended with a piece of wood and foot or with foot rest, can sleep two more adult. - fastest king bed installation and comfortable foam mattress with cup holder. Convert easily from twin to king. - good 12v compressor Norcold 6 ft with freezer. - propane 40 lbs reliable heater. - good ducted a/c very low noise - quiet flex 4000i generator 48 db at 10 foot at half power. Ford sync4 in large capacitive screen with Wireless apple carplay and android auto. - extension counter. -the living space even with the slide in is very good for anybody moving from front to rear. Hey in a 400k$ Newmar , my dog would not move but on this 24kb compass the dog has no issue. Owners of the 24kb said they don’t use the slide and it is fast to park in cities. - the cargo capacity is 1583 lbs which is the best in the b+ range. It does not have leveler system which increase the occc. But you can install stabilizer jack The compass 24kb is the best rear twin bed in the market. I see a lot of bad comments from people that know nothing about rv. Use your brain guy, and analyze, compare and look at features, practicality and possibility of extension and you will determine like me that the Thor Compass 24kb 2025 is the best Twin rear bed on the market in front of the LTV and Tiffin. Real owners of the recent 2024 24kb confirms what i said. They have nearly no issue (except the position of the paper toilet holder …) They have done big trip without any issues and recommend the Thor Compass 24kb. I am astonished by the number of people are totally ignorant. I am someone very picky with what i bought and i only select the best. And i tell you this 24kv is very good. I never make a mistake.
The gas mileage degrades considerably when you move from a B to a B+/C- and the weight of a slide is going to degraded even further. I'll stick with our B van. We can get over 20 MPG if we're careful. Also, Thor seems to have a bad reputation for quality issues. Our salesman when we were buying our Travato in early 2020 said that he refuses to sell Thors, and if a customer is set on buying one, he'll turn them over to a different salesperson.
I was impressed with the floor plan with twin beds, and a slide out with functional space when the slides are retracted. However, I am very disappointed in the smaller fuel tank (25 gallons), and the poor fuel economy for a 6 cycl 3.5 V6 Ecoboost Turbo. I have a the same engine in my Ford 4x4 truck, and it regularly gets into the low 20mpg, and it has a 37 gallon fuel tank. That size, or larger should be standard on any motorhome, as it stinks that you have to stop and refill for gas every 200 miles (that really makes for a long drive). My V-10 Chinook Concourse with a V-10 trition that easily tows our 5,000lb boat, gets between 9 to 10.5 mpg (when not towing). It will get 6 to 8 while towing.
1577 lbs occc even 1698 lbs occc with no generator. Remove the 100ah and 100w and you get 1735 occc where you can build pro level electrical system 320ah in the pass through. And xantrex 3000w, and 4 x 250w on the roof., dual alternator 280ah Nations are easy to install on this transit 350 hd. The only thing to resolve is a lift and auto leveling systems difficult to install on such transit ford awd. I found only a 2 inch lift. Did somebody found a 4 inch lift for AWD?

Thank you 🤗
I was your 10,400ish sub after meeting you in MD. What a crazy grind and ride you been on. Thanks for the hustle
Your dislikes of the Gemini are easy fix except the outside hookups. I like, it but I agree with you Matt about the hookups. Hope there's one that's locked not exposed. Good video 👍
That bathroom is a deal Breaker, I'm not paying a $170000 and have to deal with that bathroom.
We appreciate your feedback and I will share it with our Product Development team. Thanks, Brandon @ TMC.
I just am astonished the prices of RV's anymore. I owned many RV's in the day and the most we paid was $6K. They were older models but they had all of the conveniences.
Stuck in 1950 my friend.
@@snocone6228 Nope, last RV I bought was actually 14 years ago.
Yes, let's see the awning open.!
Ohhhhh my gosh Andrea (sorry if I spelled it incorrectly) your hair looks amazing!
Thank you so much 😊
The shower is not working for me. It's smaller than a cruise ship shower
Thor is already releasing their 2025s? Wow!
pre-covid, we bought a really nice Grand Design Solitude 5th wheel at a FL RV show in Feb 2018.
That's what you get for living in a hoa.
Nice Tour and RV Matt and Andrea!
8.9 average mpg from a turbo v6. A big block V8 would perform better and have better power delivery.
8.9 mpg not very good for a small unit.
I really like that with having the 3.5 ecoboost
Love the awnings out
What are they thinking on these prices! You can buy a van & build it out better yourself for less than $10,000.00. They must charge over $300.00 per labor hour on their RVs & triple the material cost.
What's up with the location of the generator?
#Asmoke
This model, B+, I will buy. I'm not a fan of RV van, but this B+ (C), I can deal with.
Like most of this, but I would be looking for campsites with good shower facilities. Single guy. mostly good stuff with this.
I love the In-law-suite underneath, in the back, carpeted, lit, and everything! 🎉😊 Good layout design. Outside the box, my mom told me I always thought outside the box, I would tell her, when saying that, "Box, there's a box, oh great, now I have a box to worry about..."😜😂✌️💝🇺🇸
Yup, bath needs improvement
Agree the toilet is the worst, still don’t know how many seatbelts, and why is the TV outlet not under the awning side,
Good afternoon!
Thanks.
Does it have a comprehensive warranty that will actually be honored?
Wonder if there is a version without a slide and an actual bunk over cab? Seems like they could have had a bed there with minimal effort. And you're right... horrible bathroom plan, but the other floor plan seems pretty solid.
That looks like a great deal!
It's so good to see Andrea again. I miss her. ❤🎉😊
I bet that slide out leaks 13 months into it (1 month after warranty ends)
So glad I’ve gotten out of this headache RV maintenance ownership nightmare. Live and learn
Keep buildings your specialty vans.
Soon no. Where to go.
That storage in the rear is epic.
We agree, that's a great feature! 🤩 Thanks, Brandon @ TMC.
This rv has a sunroof and or moonroof. Most rvs do not have them. In some other vehicles the whole sunroof opens up including the window on the top
Why does it have such a small gas tank? If you’re getting 8mpg without pulling anything imagine if you pull a small trailer for a SxS. I would bet you would only get 5 or 6 mpg then. That means you would have to stop every 100+ miles to fill up. That is borderline useless
Ford offers a 31 gallon tank for this chassis. The competition pretty much all have the bigger tank, especially when the generator uses gas
I was interested on this . . . until you got to the bathroom. Terrible! And $168k is RIDICULOUS for this B+.
We found the 24KB ALMOST worthy of a downsize.. Until I saw the shower.... 100% deal BREAKER
You two both look fabulous! 😊
Thanks so much 😊
This B van would be perfect for me if I could afford it.
Love Andreas haircolor and cut!❤❤❤
Thanks so much ☺️
I don’t like the shower curtain area and the TP holder is too close the toilet. 1burner stove would be enough with the better microwave convection unit and would give more counter space. Take the couch out and put in a theater seating with attached swing tables. This is a couples rv. All the storage is great. Inside and out. The MPG sucks. Definitely needs a bigger gas tank.
Nice floor plan & I love your new dew Andrea!
Thanks so much 🤗
Buy a box van. Build your own home on wheels. Save $$$$$!
This just keeps making me more angry! 165k AND a plastic toilet! There is no counter space hence no reason they could not have put a decent size kitchen sink. There is just not one good thing about this. They not only doubled the price in 3 years, they put the cheapest crap they could in there.
I like the floor plan but I wish the bathroom didn’t suck so much.
The Best Price in America! 🇺🇸 ❤
170k is a lot of stays at a JW Marriott I can fly to or drive to !
There is definitely something about have your own bed 😊and belongings with you.
Love it! Thanks!
Did I miss you all talking about the stove? You said to leave the cover up and you would get back to it. And , wow!!! MSRP $169,000 and that is a cheaper price point!!!
We have the Thor Vegas with the same exact floor plan. We used the closet as a pantry.
I can see that there are a lot of persons here that know nothing about rv. The 24kb is the best rear twin bed in the market :
- chassis ford AWD turbo
- full rear pass through that allow installing full victron 990ah system. However the 24kb as a contrary of the Leisure Travel Zvan which has only class 1 hitch 2500 hitch rating lbs /250 tongue lbs hitch rating, the 24kb has 5000 lbs/500 tongue lbs rating trailer capabilities.
- big flat roof that allows installing 1000w (4x 250 onyx rich panel)
- good quality door and door mechanisms.
- good ducted a/c very low noise
- quiet flex 4000i generator 48 db at 10 foot at half power.
But you can install stabilizer jack
The compass 24kb is the best rear twin bed in the market.
They have nearly no issue (except the position of the paper toilet holder …)
They have done big trip without any issues and recommend the Thor Compass 24kb.
I am astonished by the number of people are totally ignorant. I am someone very picky with what i bought and i only select the best. And i tell you this 24kv is very good. I never make a mistake.
Very nice! Thank you! Thank you! 👍🤘💛🧡💛
Great video as always, but.........What happened to your head?
I would never pay that kind of money for that rig! Outrageous!
Oh my goodness we were living the whole thing! Until you got to that horrible bathroom! We are so let down we thought this is the one. But for get it. And hook ups exposed not good
🇺🇸😕😕😕
i was quoted 90k last year at Motor Home Specialist in Alvarado TX.
Cool Video Matt. I all way love your great motor home videos Matt & Andrea .
