It brakes when you miss that infinitesimal second that you turned your head and shouldn't have. All the people saying that they want control of their vehicles just doesn't get it. You are human and you WILL at some point make a mistake and this can and will save your ass like it did mine. That one time a drunk in front of me slammed on his brakes to make a sudden left turn into a 7-11 and at that second I was looking to my right to find a Ford Expedition moving into my lane. I had the side warning beeper going on at the same time the Wrangler applied the brakes. It was truly amazing. I also love the adaptive speed control because regular speed control is useless unless you are on a highway with no other cars on it. Both these features on my 19 Wrangler are amazing. My wife's Cherokee also a 19, has this in addition she has the lane keep assist. She hates that, but I tell her if she hates it , it means she isn't staying in her damn lane. It is often correcting her and I won't turn it off, it makes her safer on the road and I can worry less when she's alone in the Jeep. Both are Jeep's are very high in quality and features, no issues not even a rattle or squeak. Love them. PS. I got the MAJITO roll bar flashlight, it's very cool.
@@BrandonHaneline I wouldn't trade my current 2018 JL just for this reason, but if I was buying a new JL I would get the feature. I would be nice if the forward looking camera could also work like a "dash camera" and loop record all the action as well.
Well said my mother in law in europe almost got into a huge wreck. I mean it was in volvo but it turned away towards an opening in traffic and prevented a crash. These systems are great and detect danger before anyone can react giving you enough time to be able to register the situation.
Great video! I wanted to see how the ACC worked on the Wrangler and Gladiator. This video was AWESOME and even taught me more then I knew about ACC. I have Adaptive Cruise Control on my Jeep Grand Cherokee High Altitude and its the best feature for the amount of highway miles I do. Just great technology and keeps you really safe too.
Man, this function is so awesome. I got the ACC on my 2022 wrangler sport s. Like I went for a long road trip to somewhere, I usually use the ACC, and it does save me so much effort on the highway. And really appreciate for your video which was a reason for me to pick wrangler and added ACC function on the vehicle. Additionally, the blind spot warning is really handy especially with the chime turned on. The chime can warn you even before looking at the mirror. The blind spot warning is also an amazing cross traffic warning when reversing which is truly fantastic.

Just got back of a trip out West in my 21 Gr Cher Trailhawk. One 800 mile day and one 650 mile day. One way by my self, one way with my wife. This stuff works great as plan B. Coupled with Lane Sense was a great comfort. They have refined this stuff a great deal since it came out about 2015.
Your spot on I just purchased a keep gladiator rubicon ... I set all the settings but still wasn’t working until I took to the service department and the head mechanic took it for a test ride and told me that my active have to be on the order to break and stop can you drive me crazy and just now I seen your video thank you 👍
Will I don’t think that everyone did this, but when the JLs came out I watched a bunch of reviews on it done by many TH-camers including this one. I didn’t it to learn as much as possible to try to know more than the salesperson to not get screwed over. During some of the reviews they talked about the price of the vehicle and how much that can get you in over cars. These reviews all said that adaptive cruise control was not coming for the Jeep and Jeep stated that since the location for the camera would have to go in the wind shield and the folding wind shield caused there to be a problem. But yet the second year the JLs are out and there’s adaptive cruise control. Weird when you really think of it.

I have read that windshield replacement on a Wrangler with FCW and ACC supposedly requires recalibration of radar and camera? Makes no sense since you can fold down the windshield on a Wrangler. Camera and Radar are not attached to the windshield…
I wish there was a way to look at that camera in the touchscreen and use it for offroad. You can apply gas peddle and the system will know you are overriding the system and it will give you control, Once you let pressure off the gas it will go back to normal operation. Also if someone stops in front of you and you want to shift over quickly into the other lane turn your blinker on it will cancel the hit detection.
My acc works well but despite no error message fcw is not working properly! It doesn't alert at the proper time or rarely detects ! I'm afraid if camera is doing it's job!

I have a new bikini Moab edition on order with this feature specifically for the select track in snow for the wife. I think the active breaking may be very scary in ice or snow conditions.
Brandon - Do you know if the camera and radar sensors are both in the mirror base in 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited models? I took it in for a very minor grill repair (hit a pheasant) and the shop said it was behind the grill - therefore requiring $280 for a pre and post scan and another $110 to align the sensor - that is supposedly behind the bottom grill. Thank you!
WOWZER!!!! The Wrangler has come a LONG way since my first car. Which was a 1991 Jeep wrangler with no stereo, no air conditioning. Manual 5 speed transmission, a top speed of 70 miles per hour, and thats going down hill lol one time I drove from slc ut, to st George ut. It took me 8 hours which normally should only be 4 and a half hour trip. The whole way with no top on, no a/c and No stereo. That was a fun trip smh
It is a great feature. You need to learn to use it though. I have practiced with mine in daily work travels to see what it does and doesn't do. It is not a set and forget system. The human can do better in the anticipation of a bad situation if paying attention. Such as when the van suddenly decided to switch lanes, the system reacted when the van was clearly in the lane, if you were paying attention you could see the van beginning that move in advance. Now if you were not paying attention, for example distracted while yelling at the radio because your football team just let the opponent score and van pulled that maneuver, the system would make up for that.
How about a sun shade for the jeep with that big box. I have the 2024 jeep wrangker willys qith the extreme package. I love it . But the old regular shades with the bungee up front . An the windshield will not allow me to get bungee through. So I need something with color and will qork around the adaptive box.
My wife’s Honda Pilot has ACC, and I love it. I want to trade in my 2013 Rubicon for a JL for this feature alone (ok, I really want to new Uconnect 8.4, too).
I wonder does the adaptive cruise control handles compared to a Subaru with EyeSight. I love the EyeSight system so much that I refused to drive any other vehicle that does not have ACC equipped. One day I will want to buy a new Wrangler and glad that Jeep finally started installed ACC in the JL.

But one question...when the automatic brake is applied will the break lights gets lit as normal? If not, that will create trouble with the vehicle behind you as he would be looking for the break lights to see if you are braking

What about 6 speed? For a Stick JL does it disengage the speed control constantly sensing downshift is needed? Once you slow or brake on the highway the 6th gear is useless to regain speed. Any thoughts? Have a 19’ JL Rubi stick without the system and I’m thinking of getting a Gladiator stick next.

Just got my '19 JLUR and am so happy I didn't order any of this extra invasive stuff. Didn't want the adaptive cruise, parking sensors, etc. I find it is more dangerous than it is worth. Watch how it just slams on the brakes when he is on the offramp. If you can't drive a car, stay off the highway.
Once that the majority of vehicles on the road have this feature I will be safer and nice to have, but right I feel I could make more harm than benefits. Like that situation with the blue car he switched lanes and the cruise control reduced your speed behind you was that black Kia that was force to switch lanes because behind him was a semi with less braking power than him and if you were to reduce even more the speed that could cause an unnecessary rear end accident by semi hitting the Kia
those the Forward Collision Warning only work if you have your Cruise Control on, because I was on my way to the store and this A$$Hole cut in front of me and the Forward Collision Warning did come on
Not necessary. I got FCW in my Sahara 2021 few times while commuting from office to home and this is with no cruise control on. Road was with roundabouts and signals.

I was starting off at a green light the car ahead of me took off and I went and the damn thing came to a full stop on its own Mopar is such garbage this gladiator has some serious safety issues with the crash avoidance system how tf do you turn it off to warning only
A few of the Rubicons have the silver/gray panel. It depends on interior color choice AND also exterior color choice. Go to jepsen website and build a few variations to see. I believe Punkin comes with a silver panel, even with the black interior. There are a few others. I wish it was an independent option as I'm not a huge fan of the red panel.

Is this feature available on manual transmission Wranglers? If you have to brake suddenly to avoid someone cutting you off, does it clutch in and gear down as well??
It does not prevent you from folding down the windshield in the gladiator. It comes with a small black plastic cover you have to put over it when the windshield is down, which I assume means those additional safety features are not working.
Just found your channel. I have a 2018 JL. 2.0 turbo. I was wondering if you've done a video on the brakes? Most like to upgrade to larger rims & tires. Can the stock brakes handle this or should people upgrade to larger brakes? Thanks

Every vehicle should have it and by 2025 every vehicle will come with it as standard. Mounting it on the windscreen will be a massive pain and make windscreen replacement more expensive and fault ridden so, not a great place to mount it.

The on button yes. But there is a different set button for regular cruise and adaptive cruise.

Unfortunately you can add this option. It is very complexed it must be purchased with this option.

You just have to be aware once your vehicle reduces speed, you need to take over, once you touch the brake, the system disengages

FCW can be turned on and off in the settings through the radio.
Doesnt work at low speed, like a stop light or stop amd go traffic...but the chryler/jeep system is the truth works great

It works the same as an automatic it just canceled the adaptive cruise When you push the clutch in.

Does anyone know if this box prevents you from folding down the windshield?
It does not prevent you from folding down the windshield in the gladiator. It comes with a small black plastic cover you have to put over it when the windshield is down, which I assume means those additional safety features are not working.

Just found your channel. I have a 2018 JL. 2.0 turbo. I was wondering if you've done a video on the brakes? Most like to upgrade to larger rims & tires. Can the stock brakes handle this or should people upgrade to larger brakes? Thanks

i hate these videos, i just ordered my new 2023 wrangler rubicon 4xe. waiting is hard enough without seeing all the cool toys on them. lol
Have that on our Grand Cherokee first time it wen tut off, caught me off guard. Don't use it and the Wrangler doesn't have it.

I must admit, that is a nice feature, but I really wouldn't use it....
I use it for long drive, people don't drive at consistent speed most don't use their cruise control.
You would, i use it all the time,,,it slows down and speed up it self,,, its great

Every vehicle should have it and by 2025 every vehicle will come with it as standard. Mounting it on the windscreen will be a massive pain and make windscreen replacement more expensive and fault ridden so, not a great place to mount it.
