US vs UK Pret A Manger | Food Wars
Irene, you may have questionable bread shape opinions, but I forgive you because you did so great!!!
Ayyyyy
Really Harry? Shrek!?
Harry Kersh I just love all the coffee!
Food Insider rules!
Rhombus squad
Irene: * talks about salad *
Joe: what have you done with my legacy
🙁
Lol, the real joe is here lol
“It’s only April and I’ve already passed three kidney stones this year”
Joe said that in a way that sounds like it’s an annual thing for him to get kidney stones, and that this years turn out was a little more than normal for so early on.
I can't be the only one who said: "Joe that's not a good thing!"
I have chronic kidney stones. I pass multiple every week and will till the day I die or get a transplant
Man, I miss this series so much. I wish this series never end
trust me it's not going to.
What is that logic
They will literally invent new fast food chain just te keep this series running
@@Kurre. lets hope so
I've legit subscribed to this channel just for this series.
thanks!
Same here lol
Same here bra
same😂😂
Same here
For those who haven’t been to a Pret, it’s an overpriced chain store selling cheap coffee and sandwiches! Perfect for Londoners :)
"overpriced but sell cheap products", nice logic
@@waterbottle8161 cheap coffee means poor quality r/wooosh
@@waterbottle8161 cheap can mean low quality or the coffee was cheap to make
@@Kerem-fb2zg oh ok, thanks for ty explanation
So basically a Starbucks? Lol
Imagine if they open Gregg's in America
I really want to see a food wars of that. I can imagine the american yum yums to have 2k calories per one
What’s greggs
Joe Avella basically a pastie shop in the U.K. Gregs is the most known for there sausage rolls
Mmm gregs
Greggs mmmmmmm I’m hungry now
Irene and her bread opinions carried this episode pls bring her back for more 10/10 💛 💛
Irene, Joe and Harry the trio we needed!!!
Irene: “maybe we don’t need to drink this much coffee”
Joe: *I’m missing at least 3 drops of coffee I’m gonna die*
Food weights exactly as advertised
Food wars viewers: Surprised Pikachu Face
That bread is rhombus. All rhombuses are parallelograms, but not all parallelograms are rhombus
I knew it!
😅🤣🤣🤣🤣
Sorry but Harry is correct. It’s a parallelogram for sure, but unless all sides are measured and are equal length, you can’t call it a rhombus. That’s all my retained 8th grade geometry knowledge 😆
@@nicoleschaller2027 But we call all vaguely ball shaped objects spheres even when they’re not actual spheres.
polygons are sometimes referred to as n-gons, so we can just say 4-gon for the lols xd
When I was in London 4 years back I used to LOVE Pret a Manger. My family always used to pronounce it wrong and say "Pret a Manager" while I was the only one who got it right. I'm really glad they made this episode and yeah
Hey! I've been looking forward to this for ages
Literally on every street in london there is one and they're fantastic
Irene is so adorable!!! and also a mood and she is really funny!! I love when the guests make fun of joe
Not me!
@@JoeAvella lmao
I love the sound of Irene's laughter.... and her enthusiasm for sharp bread.
As a french man i am questionning why there are pickles in a jambon beurre
I dont know. Maybe pret wanted to do their own twist to it or something.
And why they're calling croissant so many things not croissant...
Pret have them on their jambon beurre in France too, or they did at the Paris Gare de Lyon Pret last time I went anyway
Because pret is not french, is a British chain
@@eldiegote9488 And pickles are good on a sandwich.
Love how Joe is in the video without being in the video 😂😂😂😂
Same
@@JoeAvella omg it's actually you
Wow this is the best food wars yet!!! I LOVED SPECIAL GUEST IRENE!!!!!!!
thanks!
Listening to Irene was everything i needed today. Her voice is calming and sweet. This video was a lot of fun
Now they're doing restaurants that I've never heard of
how have u never heard of Pret A Manger
How
i think it's only really big in the UK
There are way more popular in UK, I saw a good bunch of them when i visited the country a couple years ago
There’s one in DC for the states!
"I'm just saying when bread comes in a geometric shape it's good bread" so what you are trying to say is basically you are impressed by any bread
Isn't a square shape a geometric shape though? 🤔
@@ulysses2162 yeah that my point pretty much all forms bread are based on a geometric shape so she is impressed any bread
Irene is an excellent host !
Food insider could extend food wars to internationally sold food items like chips/crisps, sodas, etc if they run out of fast food/chains to compare.
Caffe Nero is in Boston USA. It saddens me that there are fewer brands to showcase in this series, because i love these videos so much.
Irene was such a fun host!!!
I 100% agree with Irene about bread shapes
Kettle corn: popcorn traditionally made in a cast iron kettle, usually topped with sugar, salt and oil.
Irene smashed it!
"You're stuck with my face" girl, you are radiant inside and out!
I love this series ❤️ So much fun 👍
UK has the best sandwiches to go! Especially from Pret and M&S

Low quality compared to Maison Kayser. 😂

true
Been a few times in NYC and I agree it’s not good coffee.

Very disappointed, but you will do until the White Mamba returns
White Mamba? Ok take it easy.

This is a good one didn't think of this but great video
Killing it with the content
We’ve definitely had some of the US exclusives in the U.K... I think they’re just not permanently on the menu!
also, don’t do the turmeric latte dirty smh 😭😭😭
2:35 🎶 What a wonderful phrase... 🎶
I love Pret’s lemon and ginger bottled drink🙌💕
I love the series 💖
This was my cousin's go-to lunch spot when she lived in New York City a long time ago.
How basic. Did she stand in line in her Uggs texting with a scowl on her face?
Harry Shrek is something i never knew i needed but am so glad i got
My love and adoration for Harry just spiked when he quoted Shrek.
I am convinced that Joe is allergic to salads
We need a Pret on the Upper East Side on Lexington Ave. near Carnegie Hill !!!
They're all down in Midtown
I love how even though Joe is not presenting in the episode.. he's always still there 😂😂
Amazing video, I like it 🥰
Irene : its not spicy but has a kick to it
The entire universe: so its spicy
Please do UK vs US home ceilings, lights, bathrooms, room size, door quality, wall quality, exterior, interior, flooring
@silent night everything is food is you are brave enough.
I like how Joe is in the comment section
you did so great!!!
The uk exclusive avo baguette is so good
You know they're running out of chain food stores when they can find one in England but not in Los Angeles
Not really - its more that, having done the genuinely global chains, they are now doing the ones focused on the UK or US but with a couple of stores in the other country.
They are everywhere in the UK but I had no idea that they had some US operations
Nando’s isn’t in LA
They're both all over the UK and NYC, which is really all that matters.
@@rmknicks nah. if it’s only in nyc then it’s not really us vs uk lol self centered af
Whenever I’m in NYC I go to pret. It’s been years though.
There's one in union square and times square. But it's all over the state because I went to upstate, towards buffalo once and there were like 3 of em.
I think that Pret (UK) has some of the best chain pre-made sandwiches alongside Pure. The food is pretty good and fresh, which is why it's so popular
Learned how to properly pronounce Pret A Manger. Thanks, Harry!
🤣 🤣 Irene needs to come back again. So funny, she doubled down on the it's a triangle stance 😂
Pret is what I associate to overpriced Airport food, cause that's the only time I eat it lol. Also, Irene is adorable
9:20 - 9:25 🎵 EGG SALAD IS GROOOOOOOOOSSSS 🎵 is both a mood and an accurate description of egg salad 😖 but if you don’t have anything else to eat 😣
You can get both the flatbreads in the UK as well as the nut and popcorn bars
Irene "sorry I'm not joe"
Gurl at least u tried! As long as joe has like a clip im good
I regretted so much for not trying out PRET when i was in UK.

Edit: She's so cute like a little kitten 😭
Before there has been things that I never knew existed in the UK, and now something I never knew existed in the US
An Americano does have calories, carbs from the coffee. Alot of the US "exclusive" wraps/sandwiches and snacks have been available in the UK at some point though
Uhhh Joe... egg salad is absolutely freaking awesome!!!!
Pret hits different when you’re at the airport lol
For the next time: Plz do Costa Coffee ☕
For those who don’t know what pret is it’s a posh coffee shop I don’t go there because it’s mainly at train stations but I do like there crossaint
The popcorn bar is the greatest thing on planet earth. No CAP! Amazed that the got rid of it from the UK menu!
For a second I thought Joe wasn't gonna be in because of the thumbnail lol.
Much as I love that mafia wiseguy sounding dude, I fully approve of Irene.
I love pret. Not been for years. The salads are great.
There needs to be a Pret in every single city in the USA. Fell in love with them when we went to London and would love to be able to just pop in and get some decent, fast food.
@Late Night Girl expret[DOT]org What is wrong with Pret? And it has to be something seriously shocking because I have worked in food service for over 30 years so do tell.
@Late Night Girl expret[DOT]org That is what I was asking. I don't know about the company and you are the only one to say something about it. If it is that bad, report them. No one enjoys being treated like shit. Unfortunately it is incredibly common in that industry that needs to change. I only know it from the customer side since there are none where I live and I experienced it in London. Why would the UK put up with that?
Irene. 💓 She is just perfect 💓
"Sorry I'm not Joe"
Irene should be in more videos of food wars 😁
There should be an episode comparing caffe nero in USA and UK
Is Insider in other countries besides UK and US?
Perhaps maybe they can do a US v Canada or UK vs India
Don't worry Joe, we don't have many Pret A Manger in Northern England either. It's more of a southerner thing.
I only really see them in airports and train stations as well
There are literally four of them within a mile of me (Edinburgh). We're not southerners.
@@etiennesharp yeah but that's scotland. You aren't northerners, you're scots.
I wasn't worried.
Love going here their tomato soup is so good
The only reason I go into Pret a Manger is for the chocolate brownie, that shizz is heaven in the clouds. The energy shots and green tea are good refreshers.
PS, we have the chicken pesto flatbread here in London too
Yaaas! The brownies are good at ⭐️ Pret ⭐️
… also Costa’s brownies are pretty good
The subtitle is not syncing to the video
that's really bugging me now
as a londoner, i absolutely love pret! had no idea they were also in the US. there's also (at least) one in germany now. if Paul exists in the US could you do an episode of them too? :)
the lemonades (regular & raspberry) both sound (and look). Wish we had them in uk.
Oh god the caramel colouring is in the Dr.pepper I'm drinking lol!
I love how Joe doesn't handle well the caffeine intake but still gonna complain about how the portions are screwed up.

Okay this is the first one I have NEVER heard of in this series.
If you haven't been to an airport then you'll probably have never seen them.
This is the second restaurant I never heard of the first one was Quiznos
Pret’s Duck Hoisin Wrap is the best
Posh cheese and pickle might be the best baguette filling ever
Can y’all fix the captions please
The Subtitle / Closed Captions past 1:30 go out of sync
What is wrong with the closed captions? They’re like a minute behind
my favourite ever salad is the pret tuna and egg one
For once it's the other way around, I didn't know Pret was a thing in the US aha
