Is it quite common on theses engines 🤔👍

Yea it is if the cambelt isn’t changed at a good interval.

I gotta ask, bc I have a 1.6HDi, 8 valve sitting in my barn 'cause the belt snapped at 55mph. I also saw your other video, where you replaced the cam, belt and bits and got it working again. My Q: if I do not see this kind of massacre, but only the moved lobes on the camshaft and/or broken rockers, can I assume there is no valve/piston damage?

Yes providing that you don’t see any valves that have dropped then you can assume the engine can be re-built with rockers, cams, ect!

@@Chris_CDB greetings from Sweden. I'm helping my neighbour with their picasso. Their timing belt lost a couple of teeth and engine stopped (ofc). Ive removed the belt and the valve cover. 2 rockers broke in half.
Moved 2 of the intact rockers to where the snapped ones were and spun the cam over. Valves move just fine, and return.
I'm kinda tempted to replace the 2 rockers, and install a new timing belt and give it a go. Bad idea or just a wast of time?

KinariCuzz, does the engine works now, with new rockers?
My engine has 8 broken rockers.
But the valves are still okey.
Do I need to remove the cylinder head?

@joakimekblom4206 if the valves are ok… just do as this video shows.. it will run again.

It will of smashed the rocker arms ect up inside the head, will most likely need a head rebuild.
      As per my video

@@Chris_CDB yes , is there a guide price ? Is it worth doing ? The car is 2009 110 k miles

@@SuperDarren71 it would probably run about 1000 (ish) it would depend on where you take it as pricing will wildly differ between garages.
