It is hard to find 6 speed TDI trans. I usually import them from the UK. A VR6 trans will not bolt up to the TDI block and the gearing is too far off to run comfortably. My source is Darkside Developments but I'll warn you, they aren't cheap! You have to email them, they are not listed on the website. Korworks used to import them also but they have gotten out of the import business
well it is easier because then you have all the parts you need except for what you decide to use new (clutch, throwout bearing etc). But the possible drawback is a) cost, sometimes you can find a beat up or wrecked car for cheap but not always and b) you have to have room to deal with another car which not everyone has that ability to tow, store, or get rid of an extra car. There are places that sell a 'kit' from cars they are parting out and those can work out pretty well too
Appreciate this series!
This is awesome cause I’m doin currently tackling this my self
How did it go?
I'm currrently contemplating replacing with an imported auto vs changing to a manual
Thanks for the series! Very helpful
Thank you!!!
How much would you charge for a 5 speed conversion? Parts& labor included. 01m model
Im not doing swaps anymore but it would have been $4-5k depending on replacement parts
What 6speed would I go with to swap a 99.5 VW Nee Beetle ALH TDI? I heard the corrado vr6 tranny.

@@hesty32understood. You installed the 02M 6-speed into that Jetta?
@@carlosdasilva8622 yes a euro imported 02M so it’s geared for the diesel
I can't find the series for the 09a and I have a bew motor Will it be about the same as the alh?
09A takes more parts, labor, wiring.
So just buy the entire car
So it would be easier to just get a complete extra car to do the swap.
