He added the crazy monkey sound at the beginning on a whim. It was originally just instruments. He said in an interview that it was what just came out of him
I love this song, both versions. The interlude that’s missing shocked me at first, but after learning the meaning, I prefer to have it included. It feels appropriate, despite the R-rated language 😉. Would love for you to check out a live version of Disturbed’s song The Night (live in Raleigh). It’s one of my favorite songs and really showcases David’s voice! 🤘🏼
I know I'm very late and this video is like months old but yeah - this is considered the censored version. You described the interlude that is cut out pretty perfectly. It gets pretty explicit and violent - the instruments just get heavy and kinda laborous sounding, like a big beating heart while David screams "Why did you have to hit me like that, mommy? Don't do it, you're hurting me Why did you have to be such a b*tch" and more and it goes on and is pretty intense. This song is a timeless classic man
Oh wa ah ah ah ...lol... David voice has matured even more beautifully over the years and so did his control of it. I don't know of another rock/metal vocalist that can slide so easily from head voice to distortion and back on a dime, nor have I heard anyone else actually put vibrato on distortion... which I understand is incredibly difficult to do. Thanks Ken...please try "The Light" and "The Game" soon. Reply
I heard an interview with him and he said he stays well hydrated, doesn’t drink alcohol, do any drugs, doesn’t smoke, eats healthy, and pretty much doesn’t talk to people after performing for 2 hours. All to protect his voice ❤
It's always fascinating watching someone who doesn't listen to a genre regularly react to something from that. At this point in my life I listen to about 10 genres of music because people keep sending me something that they liked outside my regular range of music and my catalog just expands. 🤷♂️
yeah..... you're missing the break down. David gets really into it with the skit and a few choice words. I've seen them in concert twice and there is something magical about 1000+ people saying F*** Y** when that lyric comes up in the break down.
I’ve been a big fan of this group for years and now find a lot of their music from years ago fits the environment of evil and corruption today. Listen to and watch their video, “ Bad Men”. It hits the point now that no other music reaches. I like these guys and David D. more than ever now. He sings with all our bottled up anger and I love it!
I'm glad you got this reaction pulled out of purgatory. The reason you laugh is because the song is FUN! Despite the seriousness of the topic (and yes, this version is considered the "semi-clean" version - although the radio version zips the "uck" out of "fucker" and the "hi" out of shit to clean it up a bit more) and the evident anger, the vocal style changes and the driving rhythm make the song just plain fun - hence the laughter!
I didn’t notice Disturbed - Sound of Silence in your catalog. I may have missed it, but if you haven’t reacted to I must insist you do. And if I did just miss it, please someone link in a reply. I’d appreciate it
DAVID Draiman said in an interview with ELIZABETH of the youtube channel The CHARISMATIC VOICE that he works daily with a vocal coach. I thought that was very cool of him to mention that. He is very interesting to hear speaking about music and life in general. I found myself bopping along with you and smiling so hard at the song. The arh arh sound always makes me laugh. i find it unusual and delightful and a lot of fun just hearing it.
LOL, Richard Cheese and the Lounge Lizards. Classic. Tickets for his Sept. 8th show here in Vegas show go on sale July 31st. 21+ all seated. Bring a date, he's a blast.
He does. It is missing it. And thats the part that drew me to it. Cause of was a wild child. My fad at one point wanted to tattoo hi phone number on my ass
while I hate the cut version.......knowing the Richard Cheese version helps. he does this the same live. there is basically nothing added in studio. the track is in "The one" with Jet li. if you have seen that, you have heard this before. first place I heard it. the cut version is like playing Korn's 'ya'll wanna single' but cutting out all the swears. just destroys it. the meaning is lost. grr.
You definitely got the right version. The psycho-babble of the other version just sounds pathetic. That must be the reason they axed it in the official video.
@caracoidwren944 the other version is not really allowed to be reacted to on TH-cam without the reacter getting in trouble. This is also the version that is played on the radio. He now only does the other version live in concert.

Yes….this is the radio edit……a great live version is from the Rock AM Ring festival in 2009…..

“This is not loud enough”. - 🤘🏻 🤘🏻
Definitely not loud enough lol
Always needs to be louder

Ok I cannot tell you how much I love this song and I'm 62 this is Rock at its finest 🙂
I really love Danny's guitar work filling the gaps without infringing on David's vocals. Those guitar distortions are top tier.
Finally, someone that listens to the whole band!!
Yes it’s missing….when he said….when I dream, that’s the start and yes I can quote🤷🏻♀️
Saw them live last night in Camden, NJ and this is my favorite song they do live. Everyone is screaming with him and it's just amazing to see!!
I love that you mentioned you only know the richard cheese version... and I was just thinking... has anyone ever done a reaction to Richard cheese?
this song brings me back to my middle school days back in 2006, i’m 31 now 😩
Omg you made me feel old😢
likewise my friend 31

Well played, Ken. Well played ❤

The music video follows the radio edit and it cuts it out. My favorite part is that intro, especially because of the drums.
You're right, it is missing a part.
Just came here, subscribed and like these videos and reactions
i would love to see a reaction to DISTURBED - "The Light"
pleaaassseee do it

here is is! th-cam.com/video/M6wg9aQApjM/w-d-xo.html. thanks for the comment :)

Please do DISTURBED'S. THE LIGHT... THE LIGHT... OR PRAYER
His voice is amazing.

and yes there is a jump cut to allow the video on youtube bc it reads as "Please mommy don't touch me again.....etc" and youtube wont let it play out
Love that the version you know is the Richard Cheese version. The Cheese cover was used at the end of "Dawn of the Dead" which was a classic.
First of all to sing like this must be unreal and to perform to these mega crowds the energy would be beyond words 🙂
Yeah the radio/video version omitted the abuse/rhythm section which is interesting and musically awesome.
Lol all these songs that are 20+ years old, making me feel old as it’s what I listened to in high school lol
You need the one with the interlude!
Thats why i love him
The original album also got remastered, I think about 10 years ago or so.
The first song I ever heard from them when I was twelve was prayer and i've been in love with them ever since
Yes, sadly, there is an integral part missing from this version. 😢
Filmed at Tweeter Center when it was still called that.
The 2nd distortion is actually David singing 'oh, oh'.
He spoke to my childhood of abuse. My childhood changed when my fater became a detective. He was angry all the time
What a treat 😊
Of course 2020 was also the 20th anniversary of DWTS ...
this is the radio edit you need the full alubum version
We have to get you a tee shirt like Charismatic Voice - #spoiledbymetal !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yea I agree with there was a part missing, I don’t know why they took it out
This was the radio version
You should really do the disturbed cover of land of confusion
Yes there is a part missing from this song...after the "And when I dream...."

Voice of an angel AND a demon
Hay una reacción de Ed Sheeran FT. Disturbed
How does he say "its 2020" but it was only uoload last year in 2023?..
Probably best you didn’t hear the part about his mom, there’s a reason they called the band Disturbed
It's symbolic and a metaphor about the government corruption and society. So it's not about his actual mother.
Check his new song with Ann Wilson, Don’t tell me
Listen to the words. He sounds the same live. Seen him many times
It amazes me to this day that David still has the quality of voice that he does considering how much he has abused it.
He randomly made it when recording and it just stuck lol
listen to the non radio edit next time
while I hate the cut version.......knowing the Richard Cheese version helps. he does this the same live. there is basically nothing added in studio.
the track is in "The one" with Jet li. if you have seen that, you have heard this before. first place I heard it.
the cut version is like playing Korn's 'ya'll wanna single' but cutting out all the swears. just destroys it. the meaning is lost. grr.
warcry
Its very easy to get rid of the energy you are having. Go to a metal concert then you will know what to do with it.
Shoutouts to Richard Cheese.
You definitely got the right version. The psycho-babble of the other version just sounds pathetic. That must be the reason they axed it in the official video.

Wait till you hear the UN edited version. Then this song will make more sence to you
