Perfect upgrade! Kept the same feel and rhythm but brought it up to 2017. I've been to Disney parks in Tokyo, Hong Kong, Paris, and Orlando and before this upgrade, Fantasmic in LA was looking quite outdated. This is the best possible way they could've revamped this show.
This looks brilliant and is everything I hoped from this update, the amount of added colour really adds to this already awesome Disney classic!

Still, though, the changes like Lion King and Pirates just didn’t fit in. Music changes startled me too. I was 100 percent expecting Peter Pan when I watched it live after seeing this.

For those of you who miss Peter Pan no longer being in Fantasmic, there's a tribute to him hidden in the show if you can find it. I saw it last night when I saw the show for the first time. This tribute can only be seen if you are sitting at the center. Before Aladdin and Jasmine start flying and when the singer sings "happily ever after", look at the projected moon above the cabin and you can see silhouettes of Peter Pan, Wendy, John and Micheal flying over it. In this video, it can be found at 12:47.

Agreed, actually! I have actually always preferred the Disneyland version, and this one is pretty spectacular and even better than the original in most respects (I do miss certain favorite parts). But it is AWESOME having real seating at Disney World!
Yes. I love Disneyland's Fantasmic but hate the "fastpass/lineup/one third sitting on ground/third standing/third paid seating" system. I wish there were a way we could all sit and have a chance at front row seats, but I understanding they're doing the best they can with the resources they have...
yeah it's a little more difficult, but I always thought that was way cooler then having a dedicated amphitheater for the show, like it's just part of disneyland. The ships they use during the show are the same ones you can go on during the day, just like the island. It's like the place is transformed

I cried when they did "I See the Light"! And Pirates?! When Barbossa appeared, I was like, "NO WAY!!!" And when Genie showed up, AW MAN, I'd imagine Robin Williams would be smiling if he were still alive to see this!!!

Euh, I like the Pirates ship, but it doesn't compare to the Peter Pan ship in my opinion. But overall, AMAZING!! Can't wait to see it live...and cry. :D

For real, they should remove her. I can do with Pirates of the Caribbean replacing Peter Pan, but the random girl in distress is unnecessary. Unless they make it Elizabeth Swan or Angelica.
I recently found out that the character's name is officially "Pirate Girl." smh They really didn't care.
The only reason I don't like that section is because of how obnoxious they made her. Ugh, I love the rest of the updates & projections, but she is really a huge dent in my enjoyment of that sequence.

Unless Disney World moves Fantasmic to the Magic Kingdom they can't compete with Disneyland's amazing 2.0 show
Where would yo propose they move it to in Magic Kingdom at Disney World. Currently Fantasmic shows at Hollywood Studios in Disney World. There isn't room at Magic Kingdom for a show of this size. And why would Magic Kingdom need this show when they already have their own shows.
Allyson Genereux In Frontierland Magic Kingdom has the same kind of island for this show and the boat they have there is similar to the mark twain and Magic Kingdom has Wishes there and other shows there too but if they wanna make Disney World version better
1.They need a new dragon
2.They need a bigger ship for the finale
Magic Kingdom needs it if they wanna make their park more popular than Disneyland but either way this version was and still is better than Disney World's Show
Alexander Steadman Magic Kingdom has Happily Ever After. Wishes is gone. It does not need two nighttime firework shows especially in that crowded park. Update Hollywood Studios' Fantasmic.
It has it's own stadium in WDW. They just need to bring the technology up to date.

I know there are a lot of contrasting opinions on the changes they made tot he show, but the one I really can't abide is replacing the Brave Little Tailor with Sorcerer Mickey. There was something to be said about the humility of the tailor outfit, and the heroism of pulling the sword for the stone. It made the Sorcerer outfit REALLY stand out at the end, like it ws something he had earned. Plus the sword in the stone was more heroic. Now he just shoots lightning from his fingers like Emperor Palpatine. Plus I miss the old voice work.
TheHarlequinHatter The reason for sorcerer Mickey is because of the promotional pictures in the past showed Mickey as a sorcerer fighting Maleficent in her dragon form.

It is hilarious but I do find it odd that she didn't tell the girl who was screaming basically throughout the whole performance like a banshee to shut up also. Not mad but it's funny how she tells the guy to shut up when that woman sounded like an animal in distress.

This past summer I went to Disneyland and my friends, who had never been to Disneyland before, had only one day in the parks and that one day was the first day Fantasmic re-opened to the public so I was elated that they got to see this because it is definitely my favorite show at the parks. I can't help but grin ear to ear whenever I hear the opening and closing of this show, not to mention that I also find myself doing the hand gestures to "conduct" the music and water.
THAT WAS SO AMAZING 😮 But Stitch is missing...only downside.

I was actually able to see the show in disneyland, and I have been watching this almost every day after we got back. You should definately go see it if you can.
Wow, after 25 years they finally changed it. I worked on this show in 92 when it first started, and I saw it with my family in 2015 it was still the exact same show. This is cool.

Haven't been to Disney since the mid-2000s! This updated show looks amazing and true to its roots!
Always loved this show. But not sure about them using King Louie in the Lion King segment... POTC segment was amazing, and I do love Aladdin and Tangled. Wish they'd had more villains! But loving the updated animations. (Also delighted to see Aurora and Philip on the boat at the end! Almost didn't recognize Philip there.)

Everythings great in this new update with Fantasmic. But I like of my thoughts: The first is that they should add in more villains like Cruella DeVill, Scar, Frollo, Jafar and Hades from the Hollywood Studios version. Also when Maleficent appears before her scary transformation, the platform that the actress stands on should not acsend yet after she blasts Mickey with her staff, and keep the original blast sound effects from her staff and the animation of her transformation from the movie with a 4k remaster. Finally give Maleficent a new costume, like the one the from the movie to keep it accurate.
Connor Hanafin i agree with all of this except the new costume idea. I dont think they should give her a modern costume like the one in the movie to be "accurate" because a lot of Disneyland land is and should be based on the classics, because those movies are what made Disneyland in the first place ☺️💗
These changes are MEH at best, some are good but the rest seem out of place. And they should never add anything from the Florida version that version is slow paced and a bore fest. And I hope you aren't saying costume her like the one from the joke of a live action movie that plays Maleficent off as a soft gentle fairy. She is the queen of evil and isn't nice (she wants to kill people just because she didn't get a party invitation) just like the original version of her portrays. I am a huge fan of the original Fantasmic! This one is a 7/10. Still better than the Florida version though.
Of course I wasn't mentioning the 2014 movie costume, I was really talking about the costume from the animated film that we all know and love. I wouldn't even suggest it in the first place.

I got to see the original show when i was a child around 20 years ago. My father was obsessed with recording everything on his camera and I have a recording of the original show somewhere! brings back such great memories. I'm loving the Elephants on Parade portion. I do wish they kept more of the villains from the original show as well. As much as i like Peter Pan I'm really digging the Pirates makeover. Still a good show!
Also, it feels great seeing the Toy Story toys and Burt and Mary Poppins on the Mark Twain. If only they could add one more tier to that ship. Can never have enough Characters in one place

i only got to see this show once back when the old one still was around and it was the most magical moment and feeling watching it. the joy I felt and inspiration, its silly to admit but I actually always wanted be this dancing monkeys the first time I saw them. from that moment I saw them I felt so compelled to be performer for Disney I'm not yet there but soon I will be. And it will be the biggest honor ever.
