You are absolutely correct about road conditions and tyre pressure/ speed This is what brings people undone Usually too much speed !!! If you’re in a hurry, stick to city driving… Great advice guys Stay safe !

Another great video. Looks very doable. Great job plugging the tyre. I have used my repair kit about 15 times now. I can tell you it gets much easier the more you do. Nowdays i just plug it while it is still on the car and continue on. Easier than changing tyres.

Hi. Awesome video. Love you explaining tyre pressures. Would love to know at key points what speed you are doing also. I keep watching the tinny holder rise and fall on your antenna mount. Your comparison in relation to travelling to Bamaga let me know what you were feeling. Did that track not so long ago. In a diplomatic way what was the issue in relation to safety at Hermannsburg?
Thank you and we are very happy you enjoyed the video. From memory we probably averaged around 60km per hour. On the really rough stuff ( maybe 5-10 continuous kilometres) we were probably closer to 25-30km per hour but over all it’s a very doable drive and yes I have to say the reception we received in Hermannsburg was definitely different 😀

It's a lovely area ! You will love all the other walks in the ranges they are awesome! . We were there at the beginning of June. We also did the merrinie loop and found it ok . Also didn't feel safe in Hermannsburg n left ! Stay safe 🎉

@@trip42australia yer the Kalumburu Rd was closed last time we were there (flooding) , and by all accounts would equal what I experienced on the Wolfe Creek Crater Rd, the Gibb on the times I've been on it, hasn't been too much of an issue, like you say Tyre Pressure & Speed are the important things. Have seen people trying to destroy their own gear by not adjusting either.
We actually missed filming it a couple of times but it made it all the way to the top twice. We were having a bit of a laugh trying to working out if we’d lose it or not
Hi Julie thanks for watching, no our house is rented. We didn’t think we’d ever get the opportunity to get back into the market if we sold so in the two years prior to travel we were able to save 1 wage and live off the other, this allowed us to save hard for the van😀
Hi Michael thanks for watching, I do torque the van wheels, when we brought the van the dealer recommended 144nm so that’s what I’ve always used on the van.
Don't they come out a grade the road? You didnt stop and give some advice to the group in front of you that were driving a bit slower and tell them to lower tyre pressures?
Hey Mick, mate I’m not sure how often the run the grader over it. It didn’t look like it had been done for quite awhile, I had a look online and some people reckon it hasn’t been done for about 5 years. Yeah I spoke with the bloke on the radio when he pulled over to check it he was ok ( you never know if someone has just broken down) that’s how I found out he didn’t deflate his tyres but he didn’t seem to interested. As you know mate you can only lead a horse to water. 🤓

If you go back check out Palm Valley Gorge turn off just outside Hermannsburg in Finke National Park.

Yer found the Gibb, Mereenie not too bad, my worst was Wolfe Creek Crater road, but the cattle trucks had been using that at the time.
