Good luck with your surgery, which I presume has already been completed and I hope you are well and will be up and cheering for the mighty panthers tomorrow, I smell a four peat coming on cheers Steve, by the way the tea towel has at least doubled the value of the van😂😂🖤❤️💛💚
Thanks for watching and yes you’re right. I had the surgery six weeks ago and I’m recovering very well and I’m really looking forward to getting back out on the road soon and your right the tea towel definitely doubled the value of the van. 🖤❤️💛💚
@@trip42australia what a great win by the panthers they truly are the best team in the modern era and my wife reckons you should frame the tea towel. Cheers 🖤💛❤️💚
Thanks for watching that portion of the Barkley highway that we showed was a repaired section when we drove through eight weeks earlier. It was all potholes so they are making some repairs to the road but from Three Ways all the way to the Queensland border was pretty good.
So disappointed for you that you were you were unable to return to Qld via the Plenty. We really enjoyed our drive through there in 2014. Hopefully you can go that way next year.. We enjoy coming along with you two and revisiting our travels. Thanks for sharing. Good luck with all you're doing 😊 Di and Mal
Hi guys, thanks for watching. Yes it was very disappointing that we couldn’t do the Plenty Highway this year but we’re going to give it a crack again either in 2025 or in late 2026. Hopefully the weather holds out next time, everyone we’ve met who has done it tells us it’s a must do so we’re really looking forward to doing it in the future.
Hey mate, thanks for watching. That’s great advice. I think I did read that somewhere before. I’m going to get Holden to do it for me before we get back on the road.
Just found this channel. I was on a trip with Outback Spirit from Alice to Kununara july 2023 following the Binns track and we pulled into Gem Tree for fuel and a bit of a look round. I bought some gem necklaces for my granddaughters. A great trip. We had to do a few detours because it was so wet last year. I love outback Australia. I am a Kiwi.
Thanks for watching. We’re really glad that you enjoyed the episode. Yes, I absolutely 100% agree the outback is beautiful and we can’t wait to get back out there.
A tip for your baking paper if you don’t already do it - scrunch it up and smooth it out before putting it in the tray, it sits better in the tray 😊. Great vid thank you.
Thanks for watching. We’re really really happy that you enjoyed the video and thank you for that fantastic tip I tried it the other night and it worked perfectly
I dont have a problem with graffiti as you call it. When im somewhere and theres a texta work i take time to read and move on I dont write anything on tables/ walls ect Graffiti to me is when someone scribbles their " tag" on anything and everything.
Hi Mick, thanks for watching. I think we’ll have to agree to disagree on this one. I’m not really into graffiti in any form. What’s the old saying “take photos and leave only footprints”. We see so many beautiful places as we travel around Australia absolutely destroyed graffiti in one form or another.
Hi guys, I know your disappointment on the plenty highway, we tried to do it in July and got around 110km in from Boulia before getting turned around. Road was open when we left but got closed whilst we’re on it.
Hi Stuart thanks for watching. Yes we were very disappointed. The Plenty Highway was one of the things that we wanted to do on our way out of the Northern Territory and we’ve been talking about it for over two years and unfortunately when we got to Gemtree as you saw in the video that was the end of the Plenty this time but will get across there one day.
Thanks for your efforts Steve. Hey why did you have the truck on the ramps with chicks on your first free camp? Was it to get the van level or for security?
Hey mate, thanks for watching. We are really happy that you enjoyed the episode. I sometimes put the car onto the ramps to raise the front of the van because I’ve got this weird thing about sleeping with my head slightly downhill and I find this is a quick and easy way to raise the front of the van when we need to rather than put it up on the jockey wheel.
We travelled to the Flinders Ranges in 2023 towing a 2700kg caravan with our 2018 Holden Colorado from Gippsland Victoria with no problems wth the Holden. Just wondering Steve, how has your Colorado handled the roads over all your trips, any problems. Thanks
Hi Jeff, mate the Colorado has been fantastic so far, we’ve travelled a little over 50,000k’s and it hasn’t missed a beat. Our van loaded sits around 2900kg and I barely feel it on the back. We’ve done some fairly serious corrugated roads, mountainous areas and the beach and it just keeps on going. I service it every 10000ks and check it over every week. I think the Colorado was very underrated in Australia and I’m disappointed that I can’t buy a new one anymore, I understand that the Colorado is fitted with a V8 in the US these days and they love it.
Yes, I'm disappointed too about Holden's demise. I love my Colorado as well and it sure beats those Rangers. Keep on truckin'. Love your down-to-earth views on you and Alison's comments on tour. Thank you both.
Please Steve , can you piss the UHF aerial off to somewhere else, please !!! It drives me nuts and I’m sure Alison would appreciate it too. Otherwise we love your style 😊 Cheers Keith
Thanks for watching mate do you know Allison and I spoke about relocating the antenna just a couple of weeks ago. Keep watching you may see a big change very very soon.
Just watched your latest episode (go Penrith) bad luck about the Plenty. Also how unlucky are you to have a bird shit in the same spot on the windscreen 2 day in a row. 😄😄😄

Thanks for showing us the state of the road on Barkly Hwy.

They do recommend changing the timing belt around those kilometres if you do a lot of towing.

The backdrop view out the window @19:30 while cooking the Sticky chicken is something to savour. Magnificent 👌🏽
4 - Peat!
You were right, sir 👍🏽
Thank you, we shot that bit of video at golden hour and you’re right the view was pretty special.

Sorry for the loss tomorrow Steve
Sorry for the late reply, mate but unfortunately you were wrong 🖤❤️💚💛
Steve i think the stones are just stones sorry steve no fortune yet
Yes, I think I just found a bag of rocks

Haha it took 6 years for us to move our UHF aerial from out of my (passenger) view! And that’s because it snapped and we finally moved it 😂

Thanks for watching, Allison just refuses to clean the bird shit off LOL Go Panthers 🐾🐾🐾
