    We love Boulia! Such a beaut little town. It’s our laugh too, seeing things in museums that we have or used as a kid! My husband born 1962 , first started his career at Maryborough fire station, the fire appliance was same as the truck in the Boulia museum. Makes one feel old. He is about to retire after a long career. Hoping Steve is recovering well after the op. Videos are great thank you!

      Thank you, it seems every time we visit a museum these days Steve tells me how old he’s feeling when he sees things that he remembers. He is recovering very well and we hope to be back on the road by the end of October 😀

    Great episode again guys, love your comment on the old bed,when I did my basic training in 76 those beds and vinal covered mattresses almost made me quit and go home.Cheers😊😊

      Thank you, I joined in 81 and we also had the old vinyl mattresses as well. I went back to Kapooka as an instructor in the late 80s/ early 90s and nothing had changed.

    Love your vids guys! But find that the audio when filming in your car is poor. But enjoy the rest of your vlogs.

      Thank you, I agree we have really struggled with the audio in the car, Ive tried a few different things without much luck. We recently updated our computer and editing software so I hope things improve soon.

    Hi Steve and Ally,thank you for showing us around Boulia,it looks like a great place for a visit.Thanks also for your very clear and detailed description of how to secure the van when away from it at free camping.We haven’t been doing any free camping yet mainly because we haven’t worked out how to find these places yet.Safe travels as always.👍

      Hi Phillip we are very happy you enjoyed the video, when we first started free camping we done short trips away from the van until we felt comfortable but nowadays you get a feeling for what seem safe and what’s not.

    loving your adventures. I'm currently planning a trip and these area's you've been in the last dozen or so episodes are on my itinerary. your clips always bring out more to see, visit, experience than one finds online thanks. the switch board you mentioned. I used 3 just like it in 1983 and that was down here in the heart of Melbourne, so not confined to the slow outback. cheers looking forward to next week

      Hi Michael thanks for watching we are really happy we’re giving you plenty of planning options for your travels, these places are beautiful. We are also planning a return to the NT next year so we can explore the West Mac’s and Kakadu before heading to WA. That’s interesting about the switchboard we would have never thought that to be the case in Melbourne but I suppose we are going back over 40 years now. Safe travels

    I have had a friend who did see the min min lights

    • @trip42australia
      @trip42australia  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I make a bit of a joke of the lights in the video but we met a couple of people out west who claimed to have seen them. I believed it light caused by static electricity in dust storms or whirl winds but many people say that they also appear without and wind. So I'm stumped.

    Steve U need to learn how to zoom in the objects like birds or eagles as can't see them on the vlogs at all...😢😢😢
    But other things are good...❤❤❤

      Hi Karen, thank you. I’m glad you enjoyed the video. I try really hard to zoom in but it’s very hard with the GoPro but I do try to fix it when I’m editing with some very mixed results

    So what are the min min lights?

    • @trip42australia
      @trip42australia  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Mick, the Min Min Lights are a phenomena that happens in the outback. Apparently they appear out of nowhere and are different colours like red, green and white. Scientists can’t explain how they happen, some believe it’s static electricity from dust storms and others think it’s caused by the earths magnetic fields in the area but no one knows for sure. Next week we visit the old Min Min pub site where legend says they were first seen and we have a chat about them there. Thanks for the question mate. Cheers Steve
