Is this road THE CARAVAN KILLER or not? | Our First Incident | Alice Springs under CURFEW - Ep64
On this weeks episode we leave the beautiful campsite where we perched ourselves on top of the cliffs at Ginty's Jump-Up with its magnificent views of Kings Canyon and the plains below to take on what is affectionately known as the CARAVAN KILLER. Over 100km of dirt, dust and corrugations that according to some will tear your caravan to pieces, the MIGHTY MEREENIE LOOP.
We set out in the morning with grand plans of conquering this iconic drive from Kings Canyon to Hermansburg on our way back to Alice Springs but not all goes to plan.
So go and get yourself a cold drink and come and us for the adventure.

    Our workshop installed the Topargee Showermiser, we can divert the water in the shower back to the tanks until it comes through hot, saves heaps. Yep woolwash is the go and if you have a top loader stop the load before it pumps out, take that load out, squeeze water out and put in a bucket and use the water for another load, then just spin it all out.

I’ll do a review on the Charger 1 in month or so when I’ve had a lot more time to use and as a part of that I’ll recharge the power station from zero using the max output setting and time how long it takes to fully recover. The second part of your question about solar, yes you definitely can you’ll need an MC4 connector cable to plug into the power station, I’m told JayCar sell an MC4 - Anderson plug adapters that are suitable for connecting a panel but I haven’t checked. Hi mate thanks for watching, yes you can definitely wind up the wattage to 560w via the BLUETTI app. I’ll do a review in about a month and demonstrate the difference. As far as putting charge back to the cranking battery I’m not 100% sure but from what I’ve read I don’t think so. The charger 1 is programmed to switch on at 12.5v and start charging at 12.6v, it cuts out at 12v to protect the starting battery. It only draws only draws a charge when the engine is running and shuts itself down a few seconds after the engine is switched off. I’ve had it in the car for about 2 weeks now and I’ve had no problems with the starting battery being drained or losing voltage. I hope I’ve answered your question as I said I’m not the most mechanically mined bloke on earth 😀

      Hi, we generally stay 3-4 days at most places and normally we travel between 150-200km at a time, sometimes we travel a little further depending on the area that we’re visiting.

    With free camping do you need starlink

    • @trip42australia
      @trip42australia 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You don’t necessarily need Starlink when you’re free camping we use it because Allison has a small bookkeeping business and she needs to be in contact with her clients and I need access to the internet to do the TH-cam stuff. Having said all of that it also allows us continued mobile phone service and I get to watch the footy 🤓

      Thanks for watching, from what we were told. They stopped people climbing the rock for two reasons obviously aboriginal cultural reasons and also the amount of rubbish (💩) etc. That was left on top of the rock by tourist and making its way down into the waterholes. It looked very steep

    Hi guys, I have been fortunate enough to go to Ayers Rock twice for work. The first time I went I had absolutely no idea just how big it is. And what is a rarity it rained on the other occasion, which was really cool. Unfortunately I haven’t been to the Olga’s. I’m a reasonably new subscriber and am enjoying your content.

      Thank you mate we’re really happy you enjoyed the episode, we really enjoyed the rock but I must say the walk through Kata Tjuṯa was next level. We’d definitely do both again. It rained about a week before we arrived so there was still a little water running down the rock but we would have loved to have seen it covered in waterfalls
