Personal log #8:
Nowadays I live with Erika more or less isolated from most settlements where refugees live, some of them lonesome fishermen, Deep Water Guard captains and even Onyx Watch engineers and soldiers, all of them trying to escape Lathrix's Chaos.
From time to time some of these people would visit us and ask for a favor or two if they needed some complex devices or repairs since me and Erika were the most qualified engineers of them all, sometimes they would just stay a bit and chat. It was a simple and peaceful life away from the madness and genocide of the Blood Guard, I never thought as someone who was born within a rich family of Barons that this simple life as a hermit would be more than what I could've ever hoped for.
A violent storm passed by yesterday, thankfully the house Erika and I built was strong enough to wistand it. heh, and thinking that people ridiculed the Onyx Watch for its medieval architecture, well at least it is definitively stronger than the shacks the Deep Water Guard refugees built a few kilometers away in the east.
Among the floating debris we could find wooden planks, plates of rusted metal, a piece from an engine or a gun and even the occasional corpse of an unfortunate lonesome fisherman whom got carried away by the storm, may he rest in peace.
However what caught my interest wasn't any of that rubbish, among the debris I saw armour plates and engine parts, not the usual scrap metal found welded onto the refugees ships, no it was advanced war machinery along with a few emblems painted onto them, I immediately recognized them, it was the Blood Guard's and the Steel Strider's flags, it seems Lathrix has started war with them and most likely destroyed them if he started the hostilities right after the destruction of the Onyx throne.
Now all that stands in the Blood Guard's way is the Twin Guard who stand no chance and the Scarlet Dawn if that bastard decides to double-cross them like he did with the Onyx Watch.
It is clear to me the Blood Guard has won, all I can hope for is we don't pick up attention from the Blood Guard as it would mean a certain doom to us.

Thanks I'm glad you enjoyed it, sadly I usually watch the entire video before making those logs so I can keep them as close as possible to what actually happened in the video, which means I publish them somewhat late and they sometimes drown in the sea of comments.

It has been a long time, hasn't it? What happened to me? Well after the Onyx Throne was brought to Blood Guard command, all Onyx state organisations were reconverted to Lathrixian rule. But not in a brutal takeover. Sure, most warships were sent to the bottom, but they were rebellious captains whom decided they wouldn't approve such "nonsense". But in the long run, the conversion to the alliance was peaceful and all with the blood of the Watch shall not be sent for their blood to flow. Everything went well. We are now the Bloodstone Alliance and the people are happy.
What about me? Well as I stated, all Onyx state organisations were blended into the one of the Blood Guard. So it means that the Onyx Watch Intelligence has turned into the Bloodstone Intelligence Bureau or BIB. So I was sent to see what the enemies of the alliance are up to. Though with the latest events, it'll be less work for me.
Apparently a little more than a week ago the Damascus, home of the Steel Admiralty, has suffered the same fate as the Davy Jones Outpost or the Raven's Nest to name a few. Their government was disbanded and the people of Normont no longer live under their cruel emperor, thirsty for power and dominance over Neter. Well the Bloodstone Alliance has proven once again what happens when you have two power-hungry leaders and not enough space for both of them. And when you mess with Khorne. With those news came a wave of cheers when the fleet came back to the Cold Lock to parade their victory, waving the heads of the high-rank governors of the Steel Striders, the ones most notable for harassing the Watch's fleets and trade convoys with their cutting edge warships. Captains of the new Plague Guard battleships were speaking tales of their CRAM cannons capable of gutting armor with ease. Which makes me wonder how such powerful weapons are assembled. No really. I mean I know how basic cram cannons are put together but tests have shown those cannons are state of the art in terms of weaponry and absolute beasts to be reckoned with. If... they... actually hit their target. I'm not a weapon engineer but I just wonder. You know, it's just questions of life. Anyway... Everything's been good so far and who knows how they turn out in the future.

As for your request, you must be informed that I have worked as a Onyx Watch spy and informant for two decades now and no information has ever missed me. Never! I do not see a reason to betray my own country. Besides, the consequences would be advantageous to Eros and Thanatos. I must decline your offer.

I do. The logs add lore to all of the videos that have them, which is why I like them so much.
If Slaanesh is the god of excess then why not have their vehicle have one of every weapon? Laser, cram Cannon, advanced Cannon, particle laser, rail gun, missiles, torpedoes, and even one of every simple weapon. Have it be a true power House with every weapon possible.

That's the problem with your honor system when it comes to subs. They're already classed as sinking when the battle starts, so the second they take more than 20% health damage, they'll disintegrate. You'd have to abandon your honor rules when it comes to subs, or just never bother trying to capture them. I'm sure you've noticed this by now, just thought I'd say it myself.

Hey lathrix i have found a great decoration for about any ships and it's to slap 2 autocannons on the sides of a single block turret and add era armour sloped on the front and the top of the turret. (Stolen from one of the DW airship)

It works good. Me and my friends have done it since 2015. Not an original idea
An idea for the Korne vessel, have a ramming vessel with a particle cannon mounted in a screaming daemon head. the cannon doesn't even have to be very accurate since it's firing point-blank, so you could focus on maximizing devastation. For added damage you could use max-gauge cram or higher gauge advanced cannons to act as unnatural lances (you might even be able to get away with making some tentacles).
The air units that are used in AotE are drawn from the Neter roster. There was no need to make any that were exclusive to the land campaign which is why you've seen the Reaper before.
Regarding force point counts, we're in the process of determining what units should be worth with a 1 to 50 scale instead of the current 1 to 80.
We still have the Trident in the game. It started showing its age for a while until someone got around to fixing it up. The Hydra was in fact originally made by Rosefall too, and while he never officially submitted it for faction use, the Buccaneer that he'd built as a DWG airship for a contest was taken on at one point.
For the Scarlet Dawn, I know that atmosphere changes messed up some of their smaller units, but the big ones should have had the major problems taken care of. Still, saving them for last is for the best at this point.

btw Lath, you can counteract the CRAMS missing the enemy vessels when they jump around by adding timed fuses. Sure, less density, but being able to do *some* AoE is better than outright missing.
When you finish the god specified ships try to steal and convert other ships with your own corrupt version. Like so lathrix can see
Lath, you could for once, use the module in the adv cannon that allows shells to travel to space unaffected, and make a long range advanced cannon ship, maybe like a big chain gun, that fires in a high ark, then have it be the only weapon and on the ship. Also, satellites.
Hey laythryx, what if you built a balloon (like a satellite) but put a bunch of flare and radar buoy missles on it, and no other weapons so that it can distract (almost) all radar/heat based trackers?

I'm not sure if the Steel Strider subs use the sonar decoys, but that could be the reason your torps weren't tracking 100%.

Unless you already have a design in mind, I think the Slaanesh craft should be carrier that spawns swarm craft, the mother ship itself should use over the top and strange weapon types, (grapples and graviton rounds.) It might not be the most efficient it would be entertaining.
With 2x speed and your accent whenever you say "Plague Guard" it sounds like "Played God"
Vehicle Log Update: "Plague Guard" CRAM Dreadnought
The dreadnought has a name now, and it's the Plague Guard. It also has torpedoes and a 12-cell VLS with missile interceptors.
I was able to partially fix the torpedos glancing off by using predictive guidance and giving it a proximity fuse.
I have an idea for Khorn vehicle it could be a fast flyer with missiles, advanced cannons, railguns, cram cannons, lasers, particle cannons to show how agresive it realy is.
Lathland, your Slaanesh forces would most likely really enjoy ramming your enemies, so you might consider making them melee oriented ;)
The Steel Striders' Typhoon submarine is actually an accurate representation of the Typhoon nuclear submarine of the Russian navy.
The 18th Red Octobers, when the whole fleet is submarines, yeah I get it. Good one Brilliant Skies.
You should build some kind of ramming vehicle that uses harpoons for Khorne. It just seems appropriate. Maybe throw on some low caliber, high RoF APS to punch a bunch of holes in things. It ddoesn't have to be great, it just has to cause carnage.
you should make something like a mothership in the space that would act like a satelite but use lasers and deploy small rockets with nukes in them like the dragon's claw

I'm glad you're campaigning to stop the ridiculous knockback on explosions ( it's a thing for APS HE also ) - you're not alone, I've been bitching about it for ages :p I'm just a guy pissing in the wind, though. It's like the wrong units are being used in some force calculation & the ship mass is in kg instead of tonnes just for that.
One more ridiculous thing: stack 3-4 radar bouys on an unguided missile & fire it to space ( so basically bouy*4/fuel/sr thruster ) every min or so, you'll negate practically all radar guided missiles ( don't know about flares, I don't think they have the range ). Torp defenses aren't quite so simple but using sonar bouys on interceptor torps fired at ~800m or so, and then dropping stacks of sonar bouys ( 3+ballast works ) at 200m or so negates most of them. Interceptors got a big range buff in 2.0.

If/when you move on to a new campaign, might I suggest an Ork theme? Then you could build a base or fortification called the Tower of Dakka - which could be as many and as large of various cannon/gun/laser/projector types as are currently available in game.

Hey guys (especially lath), I recently started playing (66 hours into the game) and I decided to make a small vehicle to begin the campaign with. The little thingie is a flier that uses aerial AI and 3 PIDs one for altitude, one for roll and one for pitch. Pretty basic stuff. It is solely kept in the air by thrusters, also it's pretty light (glory to the wooden legion) and it's a beast. The only problem is that while in combat mode, no matter the circumstances, it would just fire at the enemy then keep going and no matter how far away it went it never turned back towards the enemy. I also tried using a Land AI, but that didn't work any better. Also I think I want to keep the Aerial AI because it makes the thingie more dodgy. Anyway, can someone please help?
Also, I made absolutely certain that the turn thrusters were set up and working properly while the AI is set on patrol or fleetmove mode. They just never work in combat mode.

never mind, with THE POWER OF THE INTRNET and steam forums I managed to figure it out. I set up the second option in the Aerial AI to 0 instead of 180
OMG I'm soooo happy this thingie can beat up The Prowler Elite and it's just shy of 20k probably not the best for a campaign start but i'm still happy! I called it Escapada because it backflips if you hit it just the right way.
I don't play ftd so I can't help but good luck making it work

Torpedo sonars are distracted by sonar buoys just like radar seekers on missiles are distracted by radar buoys. You should do a subscriber campaign (only using vehicles your subs have created).
Kim Easily So could I, but he would need ships that would be able to fit into the lower costs as well. A 0-20k bracket (starter crafts), 20-100k, 100k-150k, etc. We are his legion, we should be fighting for him.

I've taken to building a couole WWII style shipy, and I noticed, that they dont like to stay upright, unless you give them a weighted keel. Is this an inaccuracy withthe engine or an aspect of ships I didnt know of?
was it just me or... did the cannon from that base count as a different ship? because when you captured it, it still kept the original colors... could just have been lag tho

Lathrix about your capturing honor rules how about changing it so that if an enemy is clearly severely hurt and is last alive like that black current where you complained about your honor rules I personally think it would have been fair to capture it then

Ok so big question here, if you take heavy armor and layer it five times the space it then add five more layers of it, does it give you the multiplyer on both layers or does it drop off?
