Nice recommendations here, I honestly have not followed anything around Shadowdark RPG, but there appears to be a lot of adventures and content already.
Yeah, there is a lot already! Baron de Ropp's Game Jam produced dozens of adventures (granted, of varying quality), and there are a ton of new things coming out for it. Once the physical book comes out, I think it'll have another wave.
@@RedMageGM I'll have to find me a copy then when the physical book releases. I'm still not 100% sold on the rules to move from OSE / BX, but I'm open to it.
At some point, when the books come out, I might do a video on converting Shadowdark to OSE and vice-versa. I plan on preparing Gods of the Forbidden North at some point, so it might be part of that campaign prep set.
Ran this (The Count, the Curse, and the Castle) as an intro adventure for my Krevborna (Gothic Blood Opera) Shadowdark campaign and it worked beautifully! The biggest complaint I had was that I made the time limit so clear my players laser-focused on the fortune reading and the clues it gave that they were out of the castle by 11 pm. (I ran it from 7pm to midnight in real-time.) They got all three icons, a treasure for each player if they wanted to take the roof exit, but instead reunited the lovers to take the back exit, thus escaping with everything. They rocked it, but they were on the edge of their seats due to the stress level mechanic (and stopped casting because of it.) It was kind of epic actually. Now they have the tools to go back and fight if they get to a high enough level.
I really like bullet points in adventures over page of flavor text. One page of ideas to describe rooms is good and good to go. that 50 drop is like 4 stories ouch but you can hazards outside the castle deter them - moat, wolves, zombies ect.
20 Min in and you sold me. Downloaded all three because it sounds they will fit into my GURPS Game. I'm going to checkout your catalog after this. They're even fairly printer friendly. Printer Friendly is GM Friendly. Not Printer Friendly and no physical product means they have hate in their hearts for GMs. Don't support GM hate.
It's honestly more of a campaign than an adventure! The stat blocks in the book go all the way from 1 to 14(!). I think you could easily run level one adventures using it (hopefully without having the party fight the dragon), and/or a 10th level climactic battle!
The Castle one looks amazing, great recommendation.
Definitely!

Any system will do?
The castle is designed for the Shadowdark system, but it is super adaptable to any osr system.

I agree - bullet point info is way more helpful!
Yeah, that's true. You could make it a dangerous choice in other ways.

hahaha yeah, I always love seeing that "print friendly" file when I get a new book. It's a great practice!
Unbroken City looks great! What level SD character's is this recommended for? I went to the link and can't find any info
