Looks nice and easy. Only thing I’d like to add is to bleed the coolant system after draining it. Don’t just fill it. Get the air out 😁 thanks for the video
Theirs a 14mm bolt on the lower side of the alternator that needs to be slightly loosened in order for the alternator to be able to pivot back and forth. If you don’t loosen this bolt then you can damage the tensioner.
Don't forget to bleed/ air out the cooling system especially after working on the water pump. Otherwise you will have idling and performance issues with your vehicle.
Hi Scott! Thanks for the video, i'm going to replace my pump tomorrow due to a faulty bearing! This guide was perfect!

Fantastic video quality + great informative commentary. Thanks Scott!
I just got mine changed now the new one is leaking as well
What did you do to fix the leak?
which side of the rubber gasket goes on to the waterpump.
Excellent video! Great tip on not having to remove the alternator! I wonder could you do this without wheel and wheel well removal? 🧐
Look like it can be done without the wheel and well cover removed. Would you please confirm Scott?
Curious about the miles on this car. I have the same pump change in my future but with a mere 40k on my odo maybe I have a few years to go.
Got a 148,000 out of mind before it started to leak now I'm at 155,000 and I still haven't changed it it just leaks a little bit
@@yzrippin But what year is your car? It's the 2010 and earlier that I believe has the problem. Mine is 09 model year made in Canada in 08.
Didn’t receive the 3 new bolts with my new part, any idea were I can get some sizing info?! Great video working on mine right now. 👍🏼
Nice job. I like the easy ones like this
This was helpful! Thanks Scott!!
I suggest getting a torque drill to use to get bolts off instead of a socket wrench. It sure makes it a LOT easier & faster.
What is the torque # for the belt tension?

And you do that how?
Hello Scott. I just found your channel and I enjoy watching your videos. Why did you change the pump?
My son had a squealing noise. Toyota told him it was coming from water pump so I replaced it. The squealing was actually coming from the alternator.
@@ScottsGarage17 Thanks for the follow up. Sucks that the water pump wasn't the problem. I was assuming it was leaking. I'm glad I asked.
@@ScottsGarage17 i think this squealing noise came from air compressor
@@ScottsGarage17 Did you replace the alternator? I understand they do go bad. In the video your's looks new.
Good job 👍❤
Good job
Wear some gloves champ
Right on dude
What are the torque specs to tighten the alternator belt?
