I've also got a 2018 'Rolla with 96K miles and i'm seeing possible signs of coolant leak. Was about the change out the coolant in July, now may need a new pump as well...sigh.
Easy to follow video man thanks, one question though. Do you not bubble your coolant after you refill? Usually people recommend running your engine with a spill proof funnel or keeping the overflow tank popped
hi sir, do u have to wait until it makes noise or leaking then change it??? I have corrolla 2010 130k miles and never change water pump or serpentine belt yet, now it leaking timing valve tensioner, thanks you have a great day,
Coo thanks man I'm looking into getting the same exact car I wanted to see how much of a pain in the ass it would be. I also looked at a Audi A5 I recommend no one buys it. It's an all plastic water pump at the back of the motor against the fire wall and the entire intake manifold has to come off to get to it.
Space is so tight and not at convenient spot, I can have hard time doing this imo. Thx for showing us.
About to do my water pump on my Toyota Corolla 2015.....Thanks for the video.
Great video man. Do you happen to have the torque specs for the alternator?
Saul this was straight to the point nice work I’d watch other videos seeing as I have the same model
You made it look easy man! I always trust a mexican when it comes to toyota mechanics haha!
Yo
Awesome vid! How much miles you got befor changing water pump?
Thank you What mileage is water pump broke
Is 70k miles a typical time for pump to fail ? 2018 Corolla. Thanks.
I'm at 77 needs replacing as well. 2018 Rolla
Yes
Hmm , mine was around 128k miles

I didn't use one on this car I normally let it run for about 20 minutes then check the coolant again but yes it is recommended to use one

This car specifically wasn't leaking but it was making noise if your case is leaking already I recommend changing it don't wait for the noise
What size are the longer bolts for the pump? Switching mine from the old style to the new one
Nice thanks for making it clear man!
I just want to know how to adjust the v-belt what I mean is what angle should be the alternator
The alternator is always live, you disconnect the battery to avoid shocking yourself while disconnecting the alternator.
Good video
that battery connection is so much easier than taking it off the connection pole.
Great job 👏

Don't forget to burp the cooling system when you finished
After you're done run the car with the heater on full blast to bleed the air out of the system.
Mine is starting to leak on a 2015 toyota corolla - 42,000 miles
You can do without touching the alternator, using the right tools. :)
He already loosened it to take the belt off.might as well just remove it
👍👍👍👍
Did you have to drain the coolant
Yes but not all of it comes out until you remove the pump
