2:40 Clutch Up Sequence (for reference) A1) Clutch in A2) Revs up A3) Rear Brake ....................... B1) Pop the clutch B2) Release Rear Brake Thanks for the brake down; very helpful.
No other video I've watched says to use the rear brake in the beginning steps. Now I want to try this because clutching up only has me pulling forward more. With a 1290cc engine this should be incredibly easy. Surprised it didn't throw me up the first time I rode it home.
@whatupcuh6722 well you'll still go forward just not as much like if you were in a power wheelie. But I had to work on my balance point too so that's why my forward motion was too much also. It helps
13 years ago.. Just thru trial and error.. Can't tell you how many times I nearly flipped.. The biggest thing I learned was to trust the bike and don't panic.. The engine breaking not the rear brake saved me every time.. That and body positioning.. The latter is most important for steering the bike up on one :)
You can also engine brake instead or rear breaking. Just let off the throttle and immediately clutch up. That way you can concentrate more on the road ahead. 1 less thing to think about.
Pretty comfortable on my new 2020 street triple r but I don't want to mess up and crash because it's so new. Really want to try this but I haven't gotten past lifting the front wheel just a little bit before coming back down
yeah i got a new ninja zx6r, i'm in the same boat. Maybe just get a dirt bike or something to practice with, thats what i might do, or a used stuntbike.
RMW there is always some anti-wheelie clown commenting on these videos about how your going to damage shit. I’ll bet he didn’t even watch the video and see where he repeatedly tells people how to let the front down smooth and what can happen if you don’t!
I was gonna say my throttle is a little twitchy for balance point wheelies, but I have the same bike in the video...so. I guess I need more throttle control lol
I was always taught to compress the forks with the front break or with rolling on and off , Never for some reason did I think of using the back break to compress the forks 😂 🤦♂️
This Old Jew it’s not necessary at all. It’s actually more dangerous to use the rear break. Just keep your foot near the rear break for safety reasons but not needed to clutch up.
wiss EZPVP I have the same bike. I was having trouble and was nervous about turning the traction control off so I had a buddy do it with traction control set on 3 and he did a second gear clutch up no problem so I don’t think you have to turn it completely off. The bike comes up no problem in its power band but too fast for my comfort at the moment so I turn the throttle off
Thanks a lot for the video its really helpful :):):) just one question... I ride a cbr 250 and cant seem to do the first challege right...any thoughts?? Thanks
Anything with 2 wheels will stand up... Small bike like that slide all the way back on your piolet seat, 2nd gear roll 30 40 mph, pull in the clutch, grab a hand full of throttle probably 8/9 grand, drop the clutch and give a tug on the bars, stay on the gas. All about timing though, happens pretty quick, cover the rear brake to, it'll save you from looping.
This video is shit. Check out these two videos "Stunter Sessions- How to Wheelie part 1" and "Bloxstarz how to wheelie". Those have everything you will ever need to know to learn to do a proper wheelie.
This doesn't seem to work on my Triumph Street Triple 765 rs. Even if you slam the rear on, there is no dipping of the front end. I don't know if it's the ABS or the suspension. I also don't know if it's a good or bad thing but I can say that the break then accelerate technique just doesn't seem to work.
Tim Endicott I never have used the break to help bring it up and your bije shouldn't need it, don't get me wrong it helps with doing it but you should be able to just clutch up or power wheelie. Just rember taping the rear break will bring you back down
Yeah the clutch up is a bit scary. Revving it to say 4000 revs then then releasing the clutch makes the taco jump up to like 8000 with changing the throttle position. The power wheelie seems like a safer way to learn. My bike definitely does not lift the front wheel when you twist the throttle in any gear. It takes off yeah but no front wheel lift. I'm told by the dealership that this is intentional as it's designed as a race bike. Apparently more speed can be achieved when both wheels are planted. Makes sense. Just annoying as I want to lift the front wheel.
Tim Endicott dont worry.. With clutch you can easily go up with a bike like yours. When you are afraid, see what happens when you try 2nd gear and 3000rpm clutch wheely, than with 4000, than 5000.. You have to know your bike. So go on and try and try. Right foot on brake! Here are also better how to videos on youtube. Edit. Just do it when you are comfortable riding your bike.
No no no! Dont use the rear brake when you're clutching it! Only have to cover it in case u come up to hard! If u make a mistake with his technic u will lock the rear wheel on accident and that will send u sliding everytime. Use the rear just to cover your butt in case it come up to hard. Even if your not clutching it u can close the throttle and the front will still dive without the rear brake and pop up.
this is for non powerful motorcycles. It works, it uses a lot more physics, and it’s only for bikes with proper grip. you shouldn’t lock your rear wheel unless you have a problem
If you listen carefully you will understand that the rear brake is used to shift the weight to the front suspension to use it as a spring when you release the Clutch and give it a little trottle
Bet no one can wheelie my shitty Honda cg 125 it won’t do it of the power(no where near) and the clutch slips like fuck so if you try clutch it up it just slips like crazy it’s a pice of shite
This is the best video I've watched about learning to wheelie.

How fast do you need to be going on a 600 zx6r to do this?
He realises the rear brake before clutch if you look close
1st gear power wheelies are the easiest way to loop your bike. Takes longer to learn but 2nd gear clutch ups are WAY safer.

this is the one of the best totorial that i liked, good job.
This is a good video.. I learned to wheelie on a 98 zx6
One of the best videos ever. Perfect explaination. More videos please.

Best video on the Internet for wheelies... Looks like I know what I'm doing tomorrow 😂😂👍🏻
How did you get off 😂 seven months later you should be a pro haha
great video! will try that out as soon as winter is over.

Thank you for the video. I have the same bike so i cant wait to give it a go
How did it go?
Awesome tutorial video . Well explained.
Can’t wait to practice this on the racetrack……..cough cough

@@nickn7939 ya best bet is one of those Chinese pit bikes. You can get a new one for around 1300.
Great vid!
Now you need to show how to change fork seals
Moto Micena you realise if you bring it down nicely it’s like going over a small bump so you don’t usually have to do fork seals

is the rear brake the reason i just jolt foward and not go up
Think so... same goes for me
I liked this video instantly after 0:45
what a great bloke, looks familiar
Brought my bike 2 times a little Bit to hard down and After that the fuel tank was broken 😐 ducati 939 hypermotard
Best video on wheelies
Had no clue you used the rear brake to pop up smh I been doing it wrong the whole time
Don't slam the front end down either otherwise new fork seals are on your "to do list"
Good video ..thanks
Thx
What do you mean with rear break? You are showing front brake in The beginning....
Don’t need the rear break for clutch ups.
That’s not what the video says
This Old Jew ever tried?
No I plan on trying it tomorrow. Doesn’t it help or is it not necessary at all? What bike do u have
This Old Jew it’s not necessary at all. It’s actually more dangerous to use the rear break. Just keep your foot near the rear break for safety reasons but not needed to clutch up.
cool thanks. what bike do u have?
What about gears, my bike just revs out?
I have an r6 2017 it has control traction. 6 levels... Does that interfere in any way i cant do it:(

So bring the front wheel back down is use the clutch and hit rear brake to down?

אלכס נחשונובthe problem is you have a 250 v twin which isn’t the strongest engine out there and you could use a slightly stronger bike

This is a video on how to wheelie a motorcycle not a scooter that looks like a motorcycle.

What type of bike is that?
What gloves are those?
Do you have to pull up or just use the clutch brake and engine
J Wink depends on the bike. Some bikes have more than enough power to just pull up on their own others need some assistance
is anyone else more confused about wheelies after this video...or maybe I should just watch it in slow motion
Just watch it a few more times until it all sinks in. :-)

Thanks buddy, will do
I second that, feels like a pretty poor guide
This guy confuses people with the whole rear brake nonsense . Basically ignore the rear brake part to get the wheel up.
No balance point was shown in this video
You forgot tire pressure
Ron Ramey if u do slow wheelies than make sure your tire has less pressure but if u go faster have normal pressure

why would you confuse people with the rear brake when doing clutch ups, not necessary
I hope you're joking
Dude you totally don’t need the rear break for clutch ups. Good to have your foot there for safety reasons but it isn’t needed. I agree.
Yeah I've never even heard this rear brake way of doing em
If you listen carefully you will understand that the rear brake is used to shift the weight to the front suspension to use it as a spring when you release the Clutch and give it a little trottle
Pascal Provost they arent saying it doesnt serve a purpose just that it's not necessary when doing clutchups
This is much more confusing

If you are on a sportbike and can’t wheelie go back to a peddle bike. Craw before you walk. Peddle bike dirt bike then a sport bike.
William Hollman so I shouldn't practice on my 600lb sport tourer until I master it on the 20lb bicycle. Makes sense!!!
'Peddle' means sell or trade. You're thinking of 'pedal', you know, those things your feet use to power the bicycle with.
