    I know gixxerbrah said this applies to all bikes but KEEP IN MIND.. As far as MT/FZ07's go... 1st gear wheelies do not need a clutch up because they are very torqy bikes. Practice just getting that wheel off the ground, then chase them out appply brake ect... and practice.. (only applies to my knowledge of the MT/FZ lineup.)

  • @michaelruegg209

    Best advice ever...you're either on the gas, or the brake. Almost never on both simultaneously (this will somewhat change when learning slow idle work)

    • @NoBrake_Noah
      @NoBrake_Noah 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      When learning, I started by riding the brake and slowly used less and less brake. Now I clutch up, catch it with the brake, and try to only use throttle to maintain BP and slow down slightly. Slowing down with just engine brake feels so weird. The slack in my chain and cush drive scares me into hitting the brake a lot.

      @@specialj1979 you have to disable the ABS on newer bikes because you need control of your back break to bring your front end down and to keep your balance point. The bikes ABS system wasn't designed to work like that it was designed to stop the bike with out locking up while both wheels are on ground if you ever stomped on the break in your car and felt the break peddle pushed back against your foot it's the same thing but the bike does it while you are on one wheel and you can't have that happening or you will flip over

    Hell yeah great video brah, I very much relate to being that guy who is much better than the other friends in my group at wheelies, but still I am chasing them just barely while right around balance point.
    One thing that you didn't touch on that I think is important, is the actual hand motion of dumping the clutch. 1-2 fingers is going to be much better than using all four as you would when just coming to a stop normally. Quick, smooth motion of flicking the clutch out fast, instead of riding it out slowly like you are used to. When I learned and also helping others learn, this has been a common issue with beginners

  • @_MisterFish

    This actually makes a lot of sense to me. As I mentioned earlier on other videos, I ain't big on wheelies but the little chase outs seem innocent enough. It's like a power wheelie but now you just force it up with the clutch and RPM rising. May go and try it a bit eventually, maybe, idk. 😆 Also the Brazilian Swing looks fun too was curious about that one too so glad you mentioned it here as well.
    And from my technical insights, I do think Jared and/or Gixxer brah are on point with the explanation of why it works the way it does.
    By leaning and so steering the bike, you lighten up the front end. So one side is compressed, when turning the other side gets rebound and when you accelerate the forks extend as well, making it easier to use the rebound to get the bike up.

    Some super cool physics are in play regarding why the Brazilians lean the bike then flick it up. Because the outer circumference is smaller than the middle of the tire you are actually increasing rpm’s without increased throttle. Mike on bikes does a much better explanation on it than I but thought of it after hearing you ask why they do it.

    The best advice he gave everyone here is don’t LEARN on your daily, get beater and learn on that. Then wheelie once your comfortable on your “good bike”

    Life hack: go buy a cheap pit bike.
    I got a TTR-125 for $700. Wheelied the hell out of it for months. Had so much fun. Sold it for $1,000.
    You won’t lose money. You can crash it. It forces you to learn the fundamentals. Anyone can chase a wheelie on a R1. But the pit bike, if you aren’t high enough, you cannot chase. You need to clutch up to bear balance point and master rear brake and throttle.
    Once you dial it in, it translates fairly well to big bikes.

    • @psychosuzi6083

      First gear keep it slow until you get comfortable at 100mph on the back tire

    • @nickdaly69
      @nickdaly69 20 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

      Yo as someone who owns and wheelies a z900 you definitely want to be in SECOND not first. You try and do this in 1st and you will be on your back. Way to twitchy and torquey its much easier and safer to do in second.
