I love my Lilienthal Berlin Huxley Bordeaux dress watch made in Germany. I can look at it all the time and still smile (to the bank too). They come with beautiful design, Ronda movement, sapphire glass, very good superluminova, and importantly, many case sizes to choose from, and they are all thin.
That is a bit of an error . Junker and Zeppelin were part of the Point tech brand . Though that was a few years back. But not sure if they are still part of piont tech. Sternglas are from Hamburg just like Wempe Montblac are German as far as I know. Still a nice collection of makes
Sorry to see you leave out my favorite German watch brand, Dekla from Stuttgart. Excellent traditional and modern fliegers along with deck watches, military themed watches, and bauhaus designs. All built to spec from purchasers. My bronze type A flieger is among my favorite watches.
Brief history timeline 1959 US Time Corporation bought Lacher & Co. AG in Pforzheim, Germany (the Laco brand) on February 1, 1959, in order to acquire the electric watch technology which that company had developed. They also purchased the DUROWE (Deutsche Uhrenrohwerke) brand. Timex sold Durowe to the Swiss movement manufacturer ETA SA on September 1, 1965.
It is nice to see some not so well known German brands. Usually all we see are the Swiss ones and Lange. A lot of new German watch companies have been created so hopefully there is a future there to compete with the Swiss. Having said that I feel that German watches tend to stylistically be in a bit of a rut. The vast majority are either severe Bauhaus minimalist or stark tool watches or fliers or very classic designs like Lange, which are all niche designs. What I generally see missing are stylish attractive sport watches like Rolex, Omega or even Baltic have...watches that have some grace, charm and sparkle but are also water proof and functional. This type of sport watch is also by far the most popular category in the watch market. I think that the Germans are limiting their choices by sticking too strictly to what they did in the past,
Leica = say "Lie-Kuh". (Lie as in lying on the ground) Stowa = say Shtoh-vahh. Lange = say Laang-uh. Sinn = say Zinn Laco = say Laah-koh. And btw, you forgot Dekla.
Just as a point of order, you are doing Braun a disservice in your description. Braun has a full range of electronics and small appliances, ranging from coffeemakers to radios to calculators. All of them suffused by a specific design language that sets them apart from their competitors. The watch shown is definitively one I would consider.
Would you mind including links to the company sites in the future? I can't copy from the description section to search for it so I have to manually enter it ( how lazy of me, I know)

Lucky you. I can only afford to drool over them from a far 🤤
To paraphrase the late J. P. Morgan when asked what his steam yacht cost to operate, he replied "If you have to ask you cannot afford one."
@@Mungo-Man same never even seen one irl
Thanks for your informative video. I hope you will be posting more of these soon.
Great Video, kinda funny as everyone knows Germans have the best engineered products - but quiet when it comes to watches, very educational
Opps meant to say perception

Craig sure you’ve done a very good job. Thank you. Would love to see more of a German watched
Laco, come to be my favourite watch maker, whenever Seiko QC annoys me, I put on my Laco
I just bought a Sternglas Taiga GMT. They weren't mentioned. My feelings are hurt. Also, this was a great video.
