At the very least, I wouldn't mind seeing a Ring of Honor for Sharks legends. Guys like Nabokov, Pavelski, and Burns, would easily be qualified and deserve some form of permanent recognition from the organization. You could make the case for other legends like Nolan, Vlasic, and I'd throw in Irbe if only for that 1993-94 season alone.

Ring of honor is the most sad consolation prize I’ve ever heard of to cope with having zero cups. That would haunt me more as a player to have one of those, than to simply be cupless
I remember being at some of the games at the Shark Tank during his rookie season. Damn, I feel old. Anyway, good luck on what's next Little Joe. A total class act.
Pavelski leaving was after Doug Wilson commented that Pavs looked like someone who'd been in a severe car crash. Wilson incorrectly thought Kane would change his stripes being around a number of high character players.
I'm glad the Big Pavelski had a number of playoff appearances with the Stars and always rooted for him.
Few players are so widely respected by all fans regardless of their team loyalties as Pavs is. Hopefully, the HOF voters recognise this when casting their ballots. It is supposed to be the Hall-of-Fame, not the Hall-of-Stats!
That's why I like the "Can you tell the story of hockey without them?" question.
The game is worse off not having a Joe Pavelski out there on the ice leading from the front. Letting Pavs walk was the final straw that broke the camels back that turned me against Doug Wilson. It’d be interesting to see you do a deep dive on DW because in his final years it really seems like every move he made hurt the team rather than helped it. Really tainted his legacy for me.
Offer him 8mil, see if he can be enticed. Then staple him to Celebrini.
3 points shy of the most playoff points by an American born* player, most points from the legendary 2003 draft class, etc. He was a fantastic leader (among other things, watching the Road to the Stadium Series there was a game (I think against the Coyotes?) where the Sharks were trailing 2-0 and during the intermission he was talking about how they had to play better, then he had a hat trick and individually willed the team to victory). I can't decide who my favorite Shark is between him, Patty, and Jumbo, but they've all given me a ton of great memories.
*Brett Hull played for America but he was born in Canada.
PS: Might want to double check the description. "Then, revisit the circumstances around the Pavelski signing with the Sharks" should say Stars.
