Luca/Thompson is our #1 pairing of the future, clearly after seeing them perform so well. There's 0% chance Cags is going back to WHL. and we didn't know this at the start of dev camps, so pleasantly surprised with this kid, he's like a mini-Huggy!! Starting to come around that if coach/management feel like it might destroy these kids souls if they get crushed in the NHL.. and you do make a good point that Thrun/Thompson already have experience in the AHL! Wouldn't it be cool if they said hey Thrun.. you got your shot in the NHL with Karl, then went down to develop for the Cuda, don't panic. We're giving Cagnoni a few games in the show, and we're sending him down for the rest of the season and you're coming up. I'd love to see them take an opportunity with Pickles/Shamookie day-to-day to get a few NHL games for the youngsters who are waivers-exempt. I think of the psychology of an athlete, you get this tiny-tiny-tiny window of opportunity to shine, make or break. Goose/Bords are probably on that cusp/breaking point now. So how do you keep it competitive, yet how do u give the young guns an opportunity to build their confidence/hope they can actually do it. Sports psychology is all about the mind of the person, and the fortitude/stick-to-it-ness, etc.
