The sell by date on food is the date that the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) has set for the product to be guaranteed to be fresh after that date it's possible that it isnt as fresh. Most products actually last much longer, but it is not guaranteed. In some places, we have stores that buy expired food dirt cheap and sell it in their stores. For example, if you go to the bread store you can buy bread that is right at the expiration date very cheap because they dont want to waste it, same with snack cakes etc

Most of the time when they put a date its for legal purposes not to actually tell when the item gets bad other than like actual meals like meat or cheese or something.
You're slightly off. You're describing a "best by" date, not a "sell by" date. The sell-by date is pushed up further in the timeline so that the product is guaranteed to have a decent shelf life after purchase. But either way, the main take-away is that best by and sell by dates are not the same as expiration, or 'use by' dates, so i'll thumbs up your comment
In the U.S. we have: • The sell-by date tells the store how long to display the product for sale. • “Best if used by” is recommended for best flavor or quality. This is not a purchase or safety date. • “Use by” is the last date recommended for use of the product while at peak quality. The manufacturer of the product has determined the date. • “Exp.” or “Expires” is a true expiration date. The food is not safe to eat and must be thrown away.

In the US, Pumpkin Spice is ubiquitous from the beginning of Autumn through at least Christmas. If you can eat it, drink it, or smell it then you can find a Pumpkin Spice version, especially in coffee shops. Also known as Pumpkin Pie Spice, it is a combination of cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and allspice. The pronunciation of Entenmann's is EN-ten-men-s, at least in New England. I suppose other areas of the US may say EN-ten-man-s but they would be wrong. ;) Five minutes after you mentioned Illinois for the first time, I got a spam phone call from (according to caller ID) someone in IL. Creepy. They usually come from Texas or Georgia.
Hi guys. Couple of things. Little Debbie is a big-time snack food company. The Entenmanns is pronounced En (just like saying the letter N) Ten (like 10) Mans (usually pronounced more as though it was Mens). Girl scout cookies aren't available year round (unless they have changed recently), and Thin Mints are really, really good! They are even great refrigerated or frozen! Also, Reeses peanut butter cups are best cold or frozen as well. We do have the crispy M&Ms, and I don't know if you have seen them there, but we also have dark choc & mint ones and ones that are pretzel inside. For your food tasting videos, have you considered just doing a compilation? You can record yourselves as you try something (like 1 item) and then stop the video and just enjoy it. Next time you are wanting to enjoy a treat pick a new one and do the same. Then you can show us you tasting them all without having to consume them all at once! Just a thought. Really enjoy you two. Be safe and well!

Millie is so hilarious. I was cracking up during her oatmeal cookie for breakfast discussions, she’s such a funny person. Slipped in a Goldilocks reference lol

Thin Mints are my favorite Girl Scout cookie. My favorite way to eat them is when they are frozen. In the box of Girl Scout cookies there are two sleeves (packs) of the cookies. They also tastes really good broken up on top of ice cream.
Girl Scout cookies names can vary depending on the state your in. We have so many different types of M&Ms. Little Debbie is known nation wide for their snacks but they recently launched ice cream versions of their snacks. This is the first I have ever seen bacon jerky and now I will have to look for it. Love your channel.
The parmesan Goldfish crackers also make a really good coating on chicken tender / fingers or fillets. With it you use it in place of say bread crumbs or you can use a combination of breadcrumbs and crushed parmesan Goldfish crackers.
They are so good cold!! I grew up in Florida and it was awesome coming home from school and having a cold Fudge Round! Or we would throw them in a cooler to go to the pool or the beach!
8:03 Take your time. It is a 'sell by date' which would probably stay good another year after that. Baked goods in the foil package doesn't go 'off' for a very long time. 12:27 They call themselves 'In-tah-mans' on their commercials.
Love these 🙂 if an end table or corner shelf could fit behind you, it would help with unboxing/showcasing in your normal spot. After a few more of these unboxings a zebra cake will seem bite-sized 😅
Peanut Butter M and Ms first came along when I was a kid, I am 43 now. The crispy ones came around a few years later but can be harder to find. Americans love peanut butter especially in our candies.
sell by is last day for the store to shelf them, you can keep them much longer, if they get stale you can put them in the oven on a flat pan at 200f 15mins to dry em out.
The crispy ones are rare. The pretzel, mint, peanutbutter, and the original and peanut are more common. There was a hazelnut pack but they did not last long.
Thin Mints are really good frozen overnight. In the morning eat them before they warm up. It's sad the so many of the Little Debbie snack cakes got squashed to half their thickness in shipping. The Twinkies are usually an inch and a half high when we get them in America
You might try eating the milky way's cold. Harder to chew but for me they ad some flavor. Probably because you have to chew more, instead of scarfing them down. Ha Ha. John3:16. Really enjoy your reactions.
You can probably go past the sell-by date for the goldfish by quite a bit (yes, that’s June), but on random occasions I’ve had some go bad (they actually taste like they curled)… though I’ve never been sure it was related to the date… I think they may just have been occasional (rare) bad batches.
How about doing a taste test video with some of your friends/family so the food doesn't go to waste and you can do alot more foods in one day. Love you guys, UTV from Cincinnati Ohio, I'm a Villa fan lol
I know this is a bit of a foreign concept to you, but hear me out. How about you do the taste test as you open the items. Take a bite, describe what you think about it, then finish eating it at your leisure. The trick is, you are filming, so just cut out the parts of you slowly enjoying a snack. Also, you can shoot a snack review over an entire week. Just try a few snacks every evening until you're done, then edit the footage back together into a single video. I don't know if you've herd of the Try channel on TH-cam where Irish people try things, but I think it would help you guys out to see how they edit their videos.
Sell by date actually means you have a few weeks to use it up after buying it before it goes bad. So not exactly like a use by or expiration date. Bit different.
Right, it is properly used for stock rotation. The vendors want the older merchandise at the front, and the freshest filling in the gaps as the stock pushes forward.

Don't worry about it to much I am not a big fan of Twinkies either Denise
Twinkies have declined in quality over the years. I don't like them anymore either.
Twinkies taste like chemicals
When you dip them in batter & deep fry them then sprinkle powdered sugar, it's a game changer. lol
I'm going to sound so un-American when I say this but, I generally don't like Little Debbie's.
Or Twinkies for that matter. I just never liked sweets in general.. Though I've ate a lot of Little Debbie's growing up. We have a Little Debbie factory and store near where I live that family members have worked at. My family always get tons of Little Debbie's.
LOVE how much you appreciate all the things you have sent to you.... Big or small, you love it all
The goldfish will be good for much longer than sell by date. That is only sell by date that is to ensure maximum freshness but as long as they stay airtight they will not make you ill.
The Scheels hat was fun for me since Scheels is headquartered in my hometown, Fargo, North Dakota. Growing up we had Scheels stores all over town, mostly hardware stores but one was also sports stores.
And now they're all sports stores! Which I love --- fellow North Dakotan here! 😁
@@suepeterson6070 Heh heh.. Almost. The one on 13th Ave in Fargo is a Home and Hardware store.
@@Alewort I did not know that! Cool!
Suggestion for taste testing. Have ziplock bags handy. Share one item then seal the other one in the bag for later and or to share with other people like your little sister.
The baggie will help keep the second item fresh.
Like I said just a suggestion.
It's fun to see you so excited. Thank you for sharing your time with us.
I truly enjoy you guys. Your excitement. Your genuine appreciation for America... I hope beyond hope we remember how amazing we are again. Frustrating...
Hallmark has been around since 1910, Walmart since 1962. I remember Goldilocks and the Three Bears from when I was a little girl (born 1965). It's a 19th century British fairy tale.
Put the thin mints in the freezer before you try them. It brings them to a whole other level!
The Voodoo chips are like a spicy bbq salt and vinegar mix. They’re pretty good but an acquired tasted for sure.
I Love Zapp's
I had some Zapp's on my grocery list a couple weeks ago and when I went to order the price had gone up over $5/ multi-pac! No Zapp's for me.
Those Voodoo chips will be a treat for sure. Have a cold beer ready to wash them down! Zapps also makes a Gator chip that is dill pickle flavored 😋 👌 So good!
They are British. They probably like vinigar more than most Americans, lol.
Millie, most girls in the United States when they wear an adjustable hat like that with a ponytail stick the tail through the hole that is created between the adjuster and the rest of the hat. Yes, of course we have Hallmark in the United States. Hallmark was founded in Kansas City Missouri. You can find Hallmark shops all over the United States, plus we have a Hallmark TV channel. Most of the reactors when they react to food that has been sent to them take a bite for the taste and then set it aside to eat later off camera, or you can always put them in a ziplock bag to be eaten later at another time and they'll stay fresh.
Try putting the thin mints in the freezer and eating them cold
I'm just some bloke from Michigan USA saying, I love both y'alls kind heart. It shows through on your channel. Thx for being you!
Fun fact I learned from "TH-cam Sensation" Lawrence about both our countries candy bars. UK's Milky Way is the same as our Three Musketeers bar and the UK's Marrs bar is the same as our Milky Way. 😁
There used to be a US Mars bar but I think 🤔 they discontinued it and now the closest is the Milky Way Almond.
That's what I was thinking, but I couldn't remember the names of the UK versions. Lol
That “ sale by” date on the goldfish is just the date when the store has to sell them by
Sell by and expire by are 2 different things in the USA, usually they are good for up to 6 monthes after sell by date as long as they are not opened. I work in a food processing plant in Pennsylvania USA.
You guys are cool. I love to see excited young people. Thank you.
I was always wondering if you share the extras with family and friends. If so would be awesome to hear some of their reactions.
I suppose other areas of the US may say EN-ten-man-s but they would be wrong. ;)
Five minutes after you mentioned Illinois for the first time, I got a spam phone call from (according to caller ID) someone in IL. Creepy. They usually come from Texas or Georgia.
This feels so satisfying to see people in other countries enjoy American products. It just goes to show that we Americans have good treats as well.
@Oracladeus And that's your opinion. I still like seeing people outside of the US enjoy our snacks. It's more uniting than divisive.
Put a stack of the Thin Mints in the freezer before you try them. I love them this way. Compare them to unfrozen ones.
If James loves peanut butter then he probably would love Little Debbie's Nutty Buddy!! They are my absolute favorites!
1) That cap is sooo cool! I love the color combo. It actually looks a little dressy. Nice.
2) I love the way when they get the vanilla goldfish Millie turns into Gollum from Lord of the Rings with "the precious" lol.
3) Try not to become diabetic guys!
4) Are you going to film your marriage and upload it for us?? I would watch! 😊
Do you have a scheduled wedding date?
Absolutely love watching you two lovely people!!
The bottom of the second box looked like a Halloween haul.
It would be fun to see you bring in your parents or a couple of friends and do a taste test of everything together with them.
in any way, shape or form, it has always been a pleasure introducing folks to diferent food items. so, while i watch a charming English betrothed couple, it "warms the cockles of my heart", with the 'oos', 'ahhhs', and the look, and eyeballs of Ms. Millie, especially with the vast menu of (goldfish!!!). i know i've done my job, when my beloved is sitting on the restaurant bench, fork in one hand, spoon in the other, and she breaks into this little kid sitting dance, her eyes say it all.
It is so fun to watch you lovebirds get so excited opening up your packages. It makes me feel like a kid opening up my Christmas presents !
Millie would love the birthday cake flavored Goldfish. They are incredible.
She's already tried & loves them. Her favorite.
Millie is so hilarious. I was cracking up during her oatmeal cookie for breakfast discussions, she’s such a funny person. Slipped in a Goldilocks reference lol
Put the thin mints in the freezer or fridge 1st!
I love how excited you get for packages. I love watching you guys open them, eat as you go if you like, especially if it's something you're really excited to try.
Dates mm/dd/ yyyy typically and for taste test alot of that is sooo sweet would hate to hear it went to waste. Great vid ty.
I love watching you kids. Your so sweet and kind.
I think its funny when you guys discover we have some of the same brands not actually knowing they are from America like Hallmark or Ritz. Hahaha
The parmesan Goldfish crackers also make a really good coating on chicken tender / fingers or fillets. With it you use it in place of say bread crumbs or you can use a combination of breadcrumbs and crushed parmesan Goldfish crackers.
Cheez-it is better than gold fish to me.
You two are the absolute sweetest…love it
With all these gifts you guys are going to look like us Americans very soon lol
Buy a treadmill if you keep eating this stuff! :)
Share with Millie's family, after a taste, I'd say.
I was going yeah, yeah, that's all good, kinda common, but all good. Then you pulled out the Little Debbie Fudge Round!! My kryptonite!
They are so good cold!! I grew up in Florida and it was awesome coming home from school and having a cold Fudge Round! Or we would throw them in a cooler to go to the pool or the beach!
Millie, before you eat the girl scout thin mint cookies. I always put them in the freezer first to get them really cold. You wont regret it. ❤️🔥👍😀
8:03 Take your time. It is a 'sell by date' which would probably stay good another year after that. Baked goods in the foil package doesn't go 'off' for a very long time. 12:27 They call themselves 'In-tah-mans' on their commercials.
The Seinfeld episode with the royal wedding cake comes to mind.
We love peanut butter in everything! Candies, cookies, on brownies and of course our Peanut Butter and Jelly.
Normally in the US, it's month, day, year. As a genealogist though, I would write 5 June 2022. Just a habit, I guess.
As a programmer, I'd write 2022-06-05. 😉
On the Zappo’s chips, gently shake the bag, but open and eat from the bottom, that’s where all the seasoning settles and get all the best flavors.
For taking the cakes: you could do a 1 minute video for each when you do them and then edit it together as one video.
Good idea. Of course with the twinkies, you can open the pack, take a bite and then save the rest for retirement with no problem.😉
@@johnbennett1465 LOL. Yellow die #2, etc
THIN MINTS are so good when frozen, YUM!!!
I would love to send Michigan Wolverine gear to you guys but it’s so expensive to send mail overseas
sell by is last day for the store to shelf them, you can keep them much longer, if they get stale you can put them in the oven on a flat pan at 200f 15mins to dry em out.
It’s pronounced Ente-manns. Also Zapp’s is the brand and Voodoo is the flavor. They’re spicy! Also we have Ritz crackers here as well!
N-tah-manz. ;)
Thin mint Girl Scout cookies are AMAZING! They are my absolute favorite!
Sell by is not the same as use by, they are perfectly good after the sell by date they just can't be sold after that date. Yummy!!
The brand of cake is pronounced (with the Philly accent ) "ent-an-mins"
You might try eating the milky way's cold. Harder to chew but for me they ad some flavor. Probably because you have to chew more, instead of scarfing them down. Ha Ha. John3:16. Really enjoy your reactions.
I live about 25 mins away from where they make the goldfish!!!! Love them .
You can probably go past the sell-by date for the goldfish by quite a bit (yes, that’s June), but on random occasions I’ve had some go bad (they actually taste like they curled)… though I’ve never been sure it was related to the date… I think they may just have been occasional (rare) bad batches.
When you eat the honey buns be sure to warm them up first if you can. Makes a world of difference 👍 love the content 👌
With just the nougat, it's a 3 Musketeers Bar. With caramel, it's a Milky Way in the states. Pronounced new-gut, the t isn't silent.
Right! I like Milky Ways more!
Also if they have peanuts, then they're Snickers.
All varieties of those candy bars are delicious!!
I just HAD to buy 5 boxes of Thin Mints, :)))
How about doing a taste test video with some of your friends/family so the food doesn't go to waste and you can do alot more foods in one day. Love you guys, UTV from Cincinnati Ohio, I'm a Villa fan lol
Peanut Butter M&Ms are the absolute best!! 😎😎😎😎
That is a good idea!
This is actually a good idea. All that sugar at once would be a bit much!
Yes, eat things seperately, the small packaged cakes are for snaking so eat each package between the two of you or by yourslef. Enjoy!
@@CaptainFrost32 exactly and that why I like to when I buy things take the things in the back rather than the front since they usually have a later date on them. lol
