Also for safety. There are some weird and sketch people out there that will put trackers and used underwear in boxes without a thought. TH-cam can be cool, but there are a few creeps. The LockPickingLawyer spoke at length in a recent conference speech about why he stays anonymous. It was eye opening.

Important to know that ranch flavored things do not normally taste anything like a really good ranch sauce or dressing. Most brands try to mimic the taste, but it's done poorly in my experience.

Agreed and a secret I learned from the restaurant industry is to mix the HV pack with 1 part buttermilk(instead of regular milk) to 2 parts full fat mayo.
Ranch dressing is a classic American salad dressing/dip/condiment that is used for EVERYTHING. Dipping pizza crust, veggies, chicken tenders, subway sandwiches, etc. It's a tangy white sauce with hints of: onion, garlic, herbs, cream, and seasonings.
You can dip any pizza pretty much.

As a Midwesterner I am the ultimate authority on anything ranch and I will say that almost anything ranch flavored doesn't quite taste like ranch. It's always a little off.

If you are going to do a traditional American salad with ranch you need to have ranch on the side but make sure that you have French fries on the salad!

Artificial "Ranch" flavoring sometimes has a sour tinge to it and doesn't hold a candle to the real dressing. The best is done using Hidden Valley Ranch dry dressing packs mixed with mayo and milk for salads.

Oreos are always best dipped in milk! Ranch dressing is used for dipping vegetables all the time here. Carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, sweet peppers.
Disappointing.... you need REAL Oreo's. You have to twist them apart, eat the icing and dip the cookies in milk! 😀
And also dipped in ranch are pizza, and french fries, and just about everything else (except sweets)!

As others have said, I had to laugh at your reaction to the chewy cookies. In my family, there are cookies like shortbread that are meant to be crisp (though not many), but most cookies only get crisp when they are stale. Fresh from the oven, and for a time after, good cookies are perfectly soft and chewy. Chocolate chip, snickerdoodles, peanut butter cookies, oatmeal cookies, various chocolate cookies, molasses cookies... they're all supposed to be chewy.

I use my late Mum's recipe that I have known in my more than 50 years, and the older ladies at my church know what a sugar cookie is supposed to be. 'To die for' is the term I have heard the most. Light as air, the perfect companion for tea.

Original cheez it's and goldfish are like crack, very hard to just eat a few. Not sure if you have them there but Chicken in a Biskit crackers are also awesome.
I ate so many chicken in a bisket crackers that the salt peeled the skin off of my tongue lol that next 2 weeks sucked for eating.

For some reason, when you buy cheddar cheese in the U.S. it is that very orange color. That is why cheese flavored snacks ate so orange.

I have always found it interesting the British aversion to soft cookies (biscuits if you live in Britain). While crisp cookies exist in America I feel like soft cookies are the heavenly ideal. Especially if they are warm and soft. Interesting that the Beesleys find the soft cookies stale, because I usually relate harder, crisper cookies as stale. I love cultural differences. Keep the great content coming.
Same. As an American, if the cookie/biscuit is hard, I think stale. I like Subway's fresh warm chocolate chip cookies!
I like soft batch cookies way better. I like crushing them up and putting them in ice cream with a spoon full of peanut butter with Hershey's chocolate syrup over top.
Yeah I commented elsewhere that chewy tastes like fresh from the oven. An American here votes for chewy/warm to the hard ones.
I was a bit surprised by their aversion to a soft cookie. I wasn't aware this was a thing. But, to be fair, most mass produced soft cookies are a bit gross. Chewy Chips A'Hoy, for instance, taste kind of fake and don't chew right. But for homemade cookies, they should be chewy.
It depends on the cookie. For prepackaged cookies, like Chips Ahoy, I prefer crisp cookies. But for homemade tollhouse cookies I love them soft and gooey

Definitely way to do it… I found it gross how they kept rotating between chips/salty and then the sweet snacks. I can’t eat like that at all lol

Fun video! Just to let you know one thing: Most snacks that are sweet aren't eaten all at once. You could eat a whole bag of chips (crisps, I think you call them), but things like fruit gummies or cookies are usually eaten a few at a time. And many times shared between a couple people. You'll see on some snacks that they are "sharing size" to encourage sharing!

Yes, get the mailing address. Most of the stuff you have there are obscure items or rare versions of less popular snacks. Your trial pack should have Cool Ranch Doritos, Takis, Cheetos, Funyuns, Twinkies, Corn Nuts, Honey Roasted peanuts, normal Cheez-its, gummy worms, Sour Patch Kids, M&M plain and peanut, Kettle Chips, Standard Oreos, Sour Cream and Onion Pringles, Nutter Butter Cookies

According to my research, you can get Newman's Own Ranch Dressing in some grocery stores over there. But like some people have already said, if you can you should get Hidden Valley because that's the classic ranch.

The secret to pulling out the flavor of things like Pringles and Cheezits is to eat them with a pop (or fizzy drink as you would say).
Ranch is a salad dressing but the bottled dressing isn’t as nice as made from scratch. It contains buttermilk, sour cream (where the tang comes from), mayonnaise, garlic and other seasonings

At the very least the Hidden Valley packet if you don't feel like making your own.
Mayonnaise, Buttermilk, onion, garlic, Rosemarie, parsley, black pepper, and salt to taste. Quick Buttermilk ranch. Add sour cream to turn it into dipping ranch.

Americans dip a lot of things in Ranch dressing. It’s originally made to go on salads but some people dip pizza, French fries, etc in Ranch.

Goldfish are bomb! If you guys have a p.o box Id send ya a bunch of USA snacks! They have flavor loaded goldfish cheese ones all sorts get that p.o box!
You have to get the flavor loaded ones. The regular cheese is pretty weak tasting.
Those boxes usually cost about 1.00.
I only like the flavor loaded ones the regular cheese is kind of bland.

Just so you know, Oreo is a brand. They make a ton of various snacks that don’t always taste exactly like the cookie (however, sometimes other companies get permission from Oreo to have Oreo flavors of their product (ice creams, especially) and those products you would expect to either taste like the original cookie or have actual bits of cookie throughout it.)

Welch's Fruit Snack packages are hard to open which is why they provide the slit at the top so you can easily tear them open.
The theater size boxes used to be only sold in theaters but you can get them all over. The supermarket near me has them for $1 which is great because everywhere else sells them for $1.25-$2.00.

When you talking about the Welch's fruit snacks and expecting a harder candy that softened up, I recommend "Now N Laters". They are like taffy candies that soften up as you chew on them. They were one of my favorite candies growing up!
I love how these snacks really helped showcase your personalities. The excitement over some snacks is just so much fun. I really hope you try Warheads, Jawbreakers/Atomic Fireballs, and a whole mess of other candies and snacks. I think you'd be overwhelmed by the different flavor of chips there are. There are literally flavors for EVERYTHING. Dill pickles, Peach Habanero, Baby back ribs, etc. Some of them actually do taste like they're supposed to, but some are really odd. And as you mentioned with the chips the texture can really make them feel weird/distracting because you expect it to feel like it's supposed to based on the taste and it doesn't. Anyway, I really hope you get a PO Box and that some people send you some great stuff because it's fun watching you 2 do these sort of things.

Hard to imagine not having ranch flavored snacks or ranch dressing. It is everywhere in the states. Not a single snack food company that doesn't have a ranch flavored something. Not to mention the dips, sauces, and ranch breading available.
Besides using it on salads, Ranch Dressing is commonly used as the dipping sauce for Buffalo Wings (aka Hot Wings) as a mild balance to the spicy Wings.
Your sample was on a dry thick French Fry.....the texture didn't help.....Ranch chips (flat potato chip) is a better example.

Ranch dressing as a dip in pumpernickel bread is great. Take a round loaf of pumpernickel, cut a big hole in the top and tear up that part into bite sized pieces. Put the ranch dressing “dip” in the hole using the loaf as a serving dish. Put on a tray with torn pieces around the outside of the loaf. When that’s gone you start tearing up the “bowl”.
If you're wondering about the cheese flavored Goldfish, they taste exactly like the Cheez-Its, but with a different shape. They're one of the most overrated snacks ever.
For ranch dressing, it's best on carrots. The "weird" taste you're getting from the ranch flavor is green onion. Andy Capp's brand is also pretty weird taste as is. The best snack that's "ranch flavored" is Cool Ranch Doritos.

Those Cheez Its aren't normal Cheez Its, they're Snaps. They're airy and crispy like a chip and blasted with a lot more cheese powder than original Cheez Its.
Millie, you hit it right on the head with your description of the Ranch Fries. That is what they are trying to emulate. Taking a French Fry (or what you guys would call a chip) and dipping it in Ranch Dressing. There are people who are crazy about Ranch Dressing and will put it on almost everything. So here in the States we have all kinds of snacks that have a Ranch flavoring to it. Sometimes it good and sometimes it is just "eh" for me. I think I prefer "sour cream & onion" flavor over just ranch.

Please don't judge ranch based on those faux fries. Hidden valley ranch dressing is great on salad And as a dip for many other dishes. Homemade Ranch is great if you can make it.
Lighthouse dressings are absolutely wonderful. You haven't had blue cheese till you've had theirs. All the others (except Trader Joe's) are to vinegary. When I can't find Lighthouse Blue Cheese or Trader Joe's Blue Cheese, I get Lighthouse Ranch or Hidden Valley Ranch.
Someone could send them packets of Ranch dressing seasoning, but I don't think Britain does buttermilk and their mayonnaise is not going to be right.

Ranch seasoning is basically onion powder, garlic powder, dried parsley, dried dill, dried mustard, salt and pepper. This is what was sprinkled onto the fries you had. Ranch dressing would be this seasoning mix, mixed with buttermilk and mayonnaise or sour cream/yogurt or some combination of all of them.

Lol. For future reference, when it comes to snacks, the color orange in America is not USUALLY spicy... For those in the U.S., spicy food has red (symbolizing fire like it does with flaming hot doritos or cheetos), and sometimes green packaging (which is almost always either Jalapeño or onion flavored). Orange and yellow, as a general rule, symbolizes cheese... So an example of mixing the 2 flavor profiles in America would be to put orange and green on the packaging; which is done for our jalapeño and cheddar cheetos. Purple and/or brown are usually sweet/bbq flavors, blue represents cool flavor such as ranch, icey mint, etc.
What is British people's aversion to soft cookies. I mean is all you've ever had was hard crunchy cookies...excuse me biscuits. Brits really do need to branch out and try different versions of the same foods. Here in 'Murica, you got crunchy, soft and crunchy edges with soft center cookies. I like pizza pringles.. i just dont think they taste like pizza personally. Its one of those things that completely missed what it was supposed to taste like but still tastes good.
should definitely some of the true original versions of alot of the snacks you tried. once you get the PO box opened, im sure you'll get plenty of people sending you reguler cheezits, goldfish, oreos, pringles, etc!!
Guys I have never traveled outside of the US and cannot wait to go to Ireland actually in 6 months but enjoy so much watching you guys and cannot wait to travel to your neck of the woods. You are so much fun.

I’ve always found ranch on pizza to be a good combo
Ranch is a spice mixture in a kind of buttermilk and mayonaise base. It started out just as the spice mix, I think that people added to mayonnaise, but eventually became the pre-mixed salad dressing. It is literally called "Ranch" because it was made at a place called Hidden Valley Ranch.
Via the ingredients, here's why Ranch tastes and smells the way it does. Here you can make your own Ranch dressing:
Ingredients
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup buttermilk or regular milk
3/4 - 1 teaspoon dried dill weed 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
1/2 teaspoon dried chives
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt
1/8 teaspoon finely cracked pepper
freshly squeezed lemon juice to taste approximately 1-3 teaspoons, adjust to taste.
Pizza Pringles are my favorite! They are addictive for me! I love Ken’s Steakhouse Ranch dressing to dip my veggies in to. So good! I love Ranch!
They've never eaten a hot fresh cookie. They are soft by definition.
Ranch is most commonly used as a dip for veggies, like carrots and celery, but in the Midwest we put it on everything, including pizza.
We eat ranch on practically anything. Salads, dip for veggies, hot wing dip, seasoning for fried chicken, bread dip, pizza crust dip. Pretzel Goldfish are good too.
Ranch dressing is great with so many things. Salad, dip chicken in it, Dip Buffalo hot wings in it, warm roast beef sandwich with ranch spread in it.
Definitely was not expecting the last one. Roast beef with ranch?? Whaaaaat
What is with Brits and the Irish not liking soft cookies? They are the only ones I really like. If they are crispy cookies like Oreos I have to dunk them in milk before I eat them. And ranch dressing is best on pizza!
Same with me! I much prefer soft cookies. More like homemade. I don’t think my mother ever made a crisp cookie in her life! (At least not intentionally!)
My question is if they bake cookies do they wait until they are stale to eat them? Lol

The cheese goldfish and the welchs gummies are things I buy for my 3 year old granddaughter. She loves them.
