Cheyenne Mountain Zoo Highest-Elevation Zoo in North America

A visit to one of the most unique zoos in the United States, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is the highest elevation zoo in North America at 6,714 ft above sea level.
This is one of the greatest zoos I have ever visited, with their diverse collection of animals from all over the world, wonderful habitats, incredible theming and interactive exhibits throughout the park, excellent food, and of course the views of the Rocky Mountains (especially from the chair lift) is the best of any zoo.
Make time to explore the Will Rogers Shrine of the Sun that towers over the zoo from the mountain, well worth the time.

It is a wonderful zoo but it is not the highest-elevation zoo in NA. Big Bear Alpine Zoo in Big Bear California sits at 7140 feet.

@@jessicawhiton3614 Technically if you count the Will Rogers Shrine of the Sun the zoo goes up to an elevation of 8,136 ft. So definitely room for debate, but now you gave me a new zoo to visit! Big Bear Zoo looks interesting!
