Discover Cheyenne Mountain Zoo: Make the Most of Your Visit

Those that don't live in Colorado Springs may not be aware that Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is one of the best breeding zoos. The areas it's at an altitude of over 6,000 feet, the same as the Kiliminjara area of Africa, the ancestral home of many of the animals at the zoo. Many biologists believe this altitude is a key to the zoos' successful breeding programs!

Ahhh great! Grew up going here every summer when visiting my aunt in Colorado Springs. She did volunteer work and would take us there on slow weekdays to see the meercats! Such good memories in 2008

This is such a helpful video, thank you! We are coming from the UK next May and were debating whether to do Denver zoo or Cheyenne, think this video has swung it for us! And the tips on handling altitude etc are much appreciated to someone who lives by the coast in Wales!
