I tubed 3 or 4 times, last time I went I saw a few snickers bars floating down the river. Between that and all the people peeing in the river I will never go again. So much pollution too, cans on the bottom, plastic bottles trash the people just don't appreciate the beauty, we are lucky to have the river. Noise pollution too, party raft on the river with 20-30 tunes tied together radio blaring loudly. If you are looking for a peaceful float watching the beautiful scenery go by, try somewhere else.

It is a wonderful zoo but it is not the highest-elevation zoo in NA. Big Bear Alpine Zoo in Big Bear California sits at 7140 feet.

My mom and her family grew up in Grand island and lived through this event. The things she tells me about it is absolutely tragic and heartbreaking, in fact I found out about this in my own before my mom ever said anything about it. I believe the initial designs were made in 1927 then they started building it in 1928. Completion was early 1930. Currently on my 28th season working there and almost 20 years as the coaster operator.
