some of the coolest things i got to do with my vita are: -Play modern fangames/romhacks for old consoles like ps1, psp, gba, etc -Play co op/vs ps1 games with the 2nd player using a ps4 controller (even some ps vita games work like spelunky) -Connect to the a pc and play rpgs on the big screen while watching something else on a 2nd monitor -Play some of the best games ive ever played like Darkest Dungeon, Spelunky, Terraria Ps vita, Salt and Sanctuary. -Finish GTA Vice City, San andreas, Liberty city stories and Vice City stories all in 1 console.
Yeah dude, it kills. I saw a recent video of yours talking about your new vita experience and I totally agree. I just started a brand new file on Star Ocean Second Evolution myself, like 15 minutes ago. I'm just stunned. I'm 35 and this is literally magic. Honestly, the basis for this decision maybe 3 months ago was a notion that I might be able to play *mostly* JRPGs from the PS1 and PSP mostly and jfc dude, the 512GB start to the I believe 165ishGB area now has been incredible. I haven't even got to the emulators or too much homebrew either. Everyone should have one of these.
I hope we get more decompiled games on the vita, like Zelda 64, Perfect Dark and wondering if the 64 games that can be easily decompiled can be posted over to the vita too
been using my vita for over a year now ( granted i did sell and buy a different one bc I didn't like the condition it was in, but a vita in general ), and am absolutely in love with this handheld, best money investment ever
I have both, problem is emulation on Vita is not that good yet (Vita3k). Also kind of like the 3DS it helps to have original hardware (back TouchPad for example). And smaller size of Vita is handy.
Yeah and vita has all the graphics novels I got it all the switch modded is nice but again for emulators steam decks and allies better but vita games is vita only basically
It's nice to see some appreciation for the Vita. You can get a lot of use out of one, even today. Shame that the online multiplayer options aren't available anymore, though. I picked up a Vita TV recently, and I'm looking forward to setting it up and finishing some games that I've had for ages. I think I might be better able to commit to them on a large screen. Hadn't tried emulating N64 games, though. I wonder if Paper Mario runs well at all.
Yeah, the N64 emulator is still sort of a "work in progress." I can testify that it has come a long way in the past few years, though. It keeps getting better. The Dreamcast one is sort of the same. The Vita isn't the best for those systems. RetroArch is great for running stuff older than the N64 and Dreamcast, though. I have mine running: Atari 2600/5200/7800, Lynx, NES, SNES, GB/GBC/GBA, Turbografx-16/CD/SuperGrafx, Genesis/32X/CD, ColecoVision, Intellivision, Commodore Vic-20/C-64, DOS games in DOSBOX, Vectrex, Fairchild Channel F, Odyssey2, MAME, Sega MasterSystem, and even some single-game handhelds emulated on it. Oh... I also have some other emulators for Atari 800, Amiga, SCUMMVM, CPS2, and even Z-Machine text adventures. heh My vita is STUFFED (512GB card mostly full) with goodies to keep me busy for years. I'm not even including the Vita, PSP, and PS1 games... and the homebrew ports like a bunch of the Rockstar stuff and other impressive games. Definitely take a look at some of the impressive ports.

@@HollowRick uwu There's like nothing on the PSVita that isn't anywhere else remastered, remade, or ported. And the few that are on there, aren't worth the trouble over Deck emulation imo Unlike the 3DS, the PSVita has almost completely lost all value. I did want one initially, but it has nothing of interest for me. I'm sure PSP emulation would be better over all on the Decc. It wouldn't replace my 3DS or my SD OLED. My SDOLED can't even replace my 3DS. No emulator can truly emulate the 3DS, mainly with street/spot pass and of course 3D gaming
Unfortunately there isn't an easy answer. Pros and cons to both. The 1000 (fat) has the OLED screen and the 2000 (slim) has a tiny amount of internal storage and doesn't require a proprietary charger. There are other little things but those are the big differences.
I love my modded PSP, but I have to be honest that I never touch it anymore after getting my Vita. The Vita can run everything that the PSP could inside of Adrenaline... plus, some of the games are actually improved by having that second analog stick. (I'm looking at you, Resistance: Retribution!) For my money, if I could own only one, it is a Vita, easy.

Make sure it's the recent one. As for how to install the games I said, well I can't help you with that chief. Rockstar games had been taking down videos about it. Just search the web, you'll find it.
wish more people would say its a complete recreation and not a port. you cant just port triple a games to handheld like that without source code. the game wont play the same
@@plusah1268 There are two versions of Cuphead for the Vita. One is a recreation of a few levels. The other that just got recently released uses the PC version of the game and is the full game.

I bought PS Vita at the begining. And day one I was angry for the price of memory cards. I bought at first 4GB ani I would download 2 games on it. And at one piony i bought Berserker game... And it is 8 GB so i overpaid for 16 GB card... At the end of a life of Vita i still was liking the console and was pissed on Sony. Now i bought seconda PSV and tried the jailbreak... I got nie 60 GB and Access for great games...
There is a super mario 64 native port that doesn't use the emulator. Runs at 60fps with native resolution. You should try some of the ports for the system 🙂
I just hacked my 3ds a few weeks ago as you can do it on the latest firmware.. give it ago it has an app that let's you download any game to it, same as the vita. If they give up on the system and the collectors buy up the physical's I see no issue on doing it.. the metroid game is sick. Do it 😂
The vita has special hardware to run PS1 and PSP games natively. Adrenaline taps into this and uses this hardware too. The vita is more amazing than people understand.
Having a jaibroken Vita is awesome. Mine has 256gb and after installing all the games I would ever want to try on the system I still have close to 100gb's left. Haven't tried too much N64 emulation cause I heard about performance issues. It's nice to see a good amount of titles working though. Excellent video dude, keep it up.

I got mine back in 2019 as a birthday gift from my mom. love every single minute of it! the ammount of emulators it can run plus the guilty please Musou games it has is amazing :3 also the reverse engineered games like GTA's makes me love the system even more!
Years ago the emulation was awful. Even SNES and GBA had problems, where I'd literally use PSP's GBA emulator. I don't know when things changed, but it was a pretty long period/years of Retroarch and emulation being really bad on Vita. It used to bum me out because it felt like such a missed opportunity, with such fantastic hardware,
PS Vita 3G replacing the module with psvsd 256gb for the vita games is awesome and a sd2vita 200gb for the retro stuff psp and RetroArch... Only sad thing is remote play from PS5 would be awesome and a grip with r2 l2
The ability to remap button layout for ps1 within Adrenaline is a must! There are many twin stick shooters awaiting the upgrade mate (apocolypse psx a must)

Online multiplayer still works for a few games, I was playing Virtua Tennis 4 ranked online(turns out it’s against bots until someone connects lol)

PS Vita TV. The psvita produces the best image for PS classics and psp than a ps3. Jail break it, install sharpscale and feast!
