Kobe's package was so much more versatile on both ends than the supposed versatility of today's NBA players. Perhpas his peak was during the mid-2000, but he was already above 99% of the league during 1st 3-peat and able to be league's scoring leader if there wasn't Shaq with him.

Kobe's tough shot making is an art form. I remember when they were comparing James Harden's scoring ability to Bryant's a few year back, I thought it was crazy. It's amazing how quickly people forget things.

Kobe is MJ minus the generational level of athleticism and slighter frame.
He also possesses are poorer shot selection and MJ is the superior defender.
Kobe has a superior offensive repertoire or “bag” and arguably the deepest ever. Offensive utility belt.
Bean was a gladiator in a way most outside maybe MJ were not.
Willingly to DIE on the court.
Won titles with injuries half the HOF would sit out for the season.
Watching Kobe ascend was essentially the truest passing of the torch in the last 30 years in sport history.
It was like the rise of DMX, 50 Cent or Eminem after PAC.
Like seeing Kareem emerge next to Wilt.
    Truly a gift.

That is low, but idk if it would make me hate someone. But I definitely would find them unpalatable for a bit.
But some people act as though Kobe was a villain who went out of his way to be a terrible person. He didn't disrespect the game or his family or people. He didn't support some insane ideology. Some people believe he committed a crime, and some think he only committed infidelity (which is still very wrong, by the way). But I don't know if any of that makes me hate someone.
To me, I would hate someone if they were continually a person of ill-behavior who treated people poorly. I don't know if Kobe was that type of man or not. If he was, then he deserved the hate he got.

He ended my enjoyment of making small bets on games by posting about 30 in the 4th against the mavs who were winning by 27 going into the 4th when I had $10-20 on the game during one of their championship years. Regular season game, he banked in a couple head on 3s if I remember correctly.
