Oh please, please watch Dolemite Is My Name with Eddie Murphy. It really gives you an appreciation for what Rudy Ray Moore went through to make his movies.
Human Tornado is a must before Dolemite is My Name because the majority of the funniest scenes they spoof from Dolemite movies comes from Human Tornado and not the original Dolemite.
In Human Tornado when Dolemite jumps butt ass naked from the cliff is the funniest shit ever, especially because it stops the movie and rewinds it. “Oh you didn’t think I really jumped that cliff..we’ll watch this good shit!!” Y’all will get to it next 😂
Human Tornado is my favorite of the two Dolemite films and the main inspiration for the Mad TV sketches. Dolemite tries to be a serious action movie while Tornado succeeds in being a hilarious goof of an action movie.
Nice! Love these Blaxploitation movies. All incredible soundtracks on Superfly, the Mack, Across 110th street, Troubleman, Black Caesar, Coffy, and shaft. Super inspiring what these filmmakers did with the resources they had.
Some other amazing Blaxploitation films to watch next: Cotton Comes to Harlem, Shaft, Super Fly, Blacula, Willie Dynamite, Foxy Brown, and Truck Turner. Loved your reaction!!!
Highly recommend Dolemite in THE HUMAN TORNADO and the film PETEY WHEATSTRAW: THE DEVIL'S SON-IN-LAW. Oh and of course Eddie Murphy playing Rudy Ray Moore in the biopic "DOLEMITE IS MY NAME" written by the writers of Tim Burton's Ed Wood!
I like to tell people that I came into the world just like Petey Wheatstraw! Also one of my all time favorite lines is what Petey Wheatstraw says after the devil shows him a picture of his daughter
The funny thing is it wasn't supposed to appear. For some reason only the open matte version of the movie was available for many years until Vinegar Syndrome rereleased it in the correct aspect ratio, so people thought it was a bad movie (because of the boom mic) when in reality it was just a bad transfer from the distributor who didn't know it had a widescreen negative
Finally, a certified cinema classic (seriously, they show it on TCM!) The actor who played the skinny bad cop also played the white guy who gets interrogated about Code Kansas in Black Dynamite! The creepy Wario mayor was Hy Pike, who's most well known as playing the owner of the snake-themed club in Blade Runner!
Very Good. The guy that played Mitchell the dirty cop in Dolemite and played in Black Dynamite 35 years later, his name is John Kerry. Like the presidential candidate that ran against W. Bush
Very Good. The guy that played Mitchell the dirty cop in Dolemite and played in Black Dynamite 35 years later, his name is John Kerry. Not to be mistaken for the John Kerry that ran against W Bush in 2004
Since Emily is so into great 70s outfits.... Y'all remember Gordon from Sesame Street? roscoe hunter orman plays in one of my most fave blaxploitation movies... Willie Dynamite.
Black Dynamite is a love letter to multiple blaxpoitation movies. If you find yourself watching more you'll pick up the references. I'd recommend Three The Hardway, Blacula or Coffy (the Mrs will love Coffy 😅) Great reaction.
As a black kid that grew up in Mississippi(Canton), Rudy Ray Moore was a God among us youngsters. Dolemite, The Human Tornado and Petey Wheatstraw(The Devil's Son In Law) were classics.
I saw this for the first time a few months ago. Having seen my name is dolomite first, I understood that dolomites character was a stage presence that was carried on into the movie, which is why he was doing a routine for the men in the parking lot. Rudy Ray Moore understood how to franchise his character from album, to movie, and beyond.
I'm still laughing from you're reac to Black Dynamite then you gonna take it all the way back to Dolemite? I love ya'll Also, Emily, you can MOS DEF pull off any of the fashion from this flick and you need to do a photoshoot! Ya'll got me signing up for Patreon for this one.
Watching this movie, I recognize many of the locations here in Los Angeles. The nightclub scene’s was filmed at The Total Experience nightclub that was burned down in 2021, although it was closed for some years before it burned down. My High school, Crenshaw High, was only a few minutes away from the club. Some of the students would sneak in to watch Rudy Ray Moore perform.
Matthew "stable of ladies" Summerlin lol Haven't seen before, but man its something about 70s movies, this, Smokey and the Bandit etc. The lingo amd music are great !
Just noticed a couple of familiar faces: 17:11 Creepy Guy is Hy Pyke. He played club owner Taffey Lewis in Blade Runner 8:49 John Kerry appeared in both DOLEMITE and BLACK DYNAMITE Edit: Lookin' good, Em!
I gave you a long list to watch on the Black Dynamite movie, but forgot Car Wash (Definitely need to watch this one. This is a all time classic), Super Fly (another cult classic), Foxy Brown, Coffy, Cleopatra Jones, Cool Breeze, Shaft, Hell up in Harlem, Slaughter, Hit Man, Black Caesar, Five on the Black Hand Side, TNT Jackson, J.D.'s Revenge and The Monkey Hustle
Matthew's gonna have to shut this channel down soon before it starts getting too expensive. In just one video Emily wants a new bed, wallpaper and some new clothes! lol After watching Black Dynamite and Dolemite I hope you watch the Eddie Murphy movie, Dolemite Is My Name.

Human Tornado and Petey Wheatstraw, possibly even better than Dolemite. Sugar Hill (1974), though not one of Rudy's, is seriously effective horror coming out of the same zeitgeist. Thanks for great reactions.
I fell in love with this movie when I saw it at the Incredibly Strange Film Festival in Christchurch, New Zealand in the late 90's. All of us would have a good sesh and go watch some crazy movies.
As was suggested by many others here, The Human Tornado (-“Dolemite 2”-)…I enjoy it more than this one, though I get SO MANY laughs from BOTH!!!🤣🤣🤣 Look forward to the Dolemite Is My Name reaction too!!! It’s REALLY GOOD…produced…well-acted & really funny too!!! Also, Penitentiary 1 & 2 were enjoyable to me too!! I love y’all, together! May God take care of y’all, as y’all take care of each other!🙏🏾💗🥰💪🏾

I hope you definitely get to Blacula soon. Emily seemed very curious on the Black Dynamite video, lol and not enough reactors do it. It's fun as hell :)
Black Dynamite is based off of Dolomite, and another Pimp movie called The Mack, which is another great blaxploitation Pimp movie if you ever want to watch it
